Haha, yeah I feel you. I wanna start IS when it finishes but I am afraid that after LBDAF, I may be annoyed with all traditional xianxia tropes and number of episodes. I still need to give it fair try, dont wanna miss out on good drama.

I still recommend LaR, it has very nice plot with a lot unexpected turns and actors are amazing. With long xianxia i just skip all filler parts like most secondary couples. I did it with TMOPB, AoL and I love those dramas so much. LBFAD I think is the first Cdrama I didn't fast-forward any scene.

The way they are all written, I would say DFQC (when he had hellfire obviously). Just remember earlier how he obliterated bunch of minions of Rong Hao. And I think it was said few times that he could fight 10-20k army by his own. Ye Hua and Xu Feng can't do that. Tbh DFQC is so overpowered it doesn't make sense sometimes, i read in fiction it isnt good idea to have too OP main characters 😅 But they just written him so cool, you wanna him to be even stronger and go bully even good guys🤣🤣

YH and XF are super powerful in context of their drama universes but I think they more like CH level power level (who is written so much like ML in more classic xianxia drama).

Me. Although I love LaR because of interesting plot and amazing chemistry of main couple, it is tooo draggy for me. So much suffering by ML over and over again😅
LBDAF simpler but so engaging, great worldbuilding and very well written charachters. Visuals effects are one of the best I've seen in xiaxia, OST is beatiful.

I second that, from China i watch almost exclusively xianxia (maybe few wuxia) and I thought although plot is simple, the execution is refreshing. I also read and watch a lot of fantasy, so this drama definitely not only for beginners 😉

No, not childish at all. This drama has one of the most mature and realistic couple conflicts I saw in any xianxia drama. Also, FML awesomely protects her rights.
She is a bit young and naive in the begining, but you gonna see her progress over the episodes.

Xianxia is basically fantasy story with immortals and gods characters.

The drama itself is about kindhearted Orchid fairy and Demon lord, who is considered one the most powerful beings in their world but devoid of any love feelings and can be seen as evil and cruel. He was locked by his enemies during war and by chance get unlocked by FML. Their lives interlocked after that with body swap and life/emotion connection. Thanks to each other they both change, mature and develop feelings while fighting obstacles and true evil of the drama.
If you like Dylan Wang, you will get a treat here,the story, character design and visuals complement him so much. You will love him more.

Yeah you are right, they set up a bar very high with building up the plot, and got us all expecting a lot from ending. It's natural not all can be satisfied with it.
Although I love the ending, I think 4 more episodes would be amazing.

Noble idiocy part i dont consider a mistake of ML in the context of a drama. Yeah prob they could find a better way but that part at least makes sense. There is one of climaxes of the show right after noble idiocy part. So many things will be going on, you wont have time to be bothered by idiocy part. And ML explains to FML why he did it a few episodes later.
Believe me, you won't be frustrated with that plotline. Especially since you can binge watch now, that part pass very fast.

So funny, i tend always to want some steamy scenes in dramas but here I never thought much about having a bed scene.
Their love seems so pure, so strong even without that.
I always wanted more of them talking, bickering, compromising with each other, cause that is favorite part of their relationship.
And their romantic scenes are some wholesome, kisses and hugs convey so much emotions, that it's better than any bed scenes.

Their feelings for each other will develop simultaneously and they will both realize it around same time. ML chases FML from the very beginning but for other reasons than romantic.
They are equaly active in their relationships, putting a lot of effort and going to great lengths to be together.
There is some noble idiocy from ML but it isn't annoying and doesnt take much time. And plotwise you can understand why he does what he does.
