I hate those sound effects, feels so out place and unnecessary.😭

Anyone else loving that their issues is not actually about misunderstanding itself but about difference in their personality? And it also makes perfect sense, as they were created to balance each other. So, whereis she is too compassionate , empathetic and rebelious, he is too cold, detached and uptight.

I tried avoiding spoiler in there, just my thoughts about the drama. I wasn't aware any long posts need to be spoiler tagged?

I think, many people, including myself at one point wondered why HRY won't just tell BJS what happened in the past and why she hates so much. But after they showed BJS personallity in recent episodes, it makes perfect sense. Since her hate mostly comes from all the pain she experienced as mortal and he has no compassion for people, even if she told him, he won't understand how painful it is. He won't think it is justified for her to hate him so much as it is just mortal life. However, if he develops feeling for others and experience the pain of loss, misjudgement, abandoment then he can understand her and her rage. In a weird way, this is actually better way to resolve their issues, even if her motivation is to hurt him.

My thoughts on FML and ML in recent episodes.

Omg, I am so obsessed with this drama and with the couple. I have been watching it from premiere date but only now have time to comment. I am Bai Lu fan and remember when last year she had 2 xianxia dramas to be aired, I was more excited about MM cause I liked the promo and leads visually more. Sadly, MM was a miss for me due to it being very generic, and I was thinking Bai Lu being kind of typecast in the same roles which I think would be a crime considering how talented she is.
I am so happy Feud is for now mostly above any expectations I had.
My first drama with ZSX and I am loving him. The way he shows BJS conficted feelings of both love, hate and confusion for FML in initial episodes is just amazing.
Bai Lu finally has a strong character, which I wanted her to play since Legends.
The best thing about the drama is though is it's plot. I watched many xianxia dramas, and after some time they all mostly feel similar to each other. Some are just better in handling cliches and common tropes than others. Feud, however, seems much fresher take on xianxia dramas. It still follows classic xianxia tropes, but it somehow works around them and reinvents them in interesting (for me) way.
For example, where many dramas has misunderstandings as a way to have some angst in mid and last part of the drama, Feud uses it as a premise. I do like the idea as it explores what hurting someone even unintentionally and due to miscommunication can lead to. Not like in other dramas we hurt each but after someone told us we are stupid, it magically gets resolved.
Another example is how the drama build ML. If you look at his character, it is actually almost identical to most xianxia MLs: powerful immortal, righteous, cold to everyone except FML. With BJS they, however, show the limitation of such a character. His coldness to everyone and righteousness is what actually makes him flawed and dispised by heroine. So, in a way drama shows that perfect xianxia ML isn't perfect, if you look deeper at his personality.
I also love that we start in the middle point of story and how it alternates between past and present, cause when dramas sometime show past events for too long, it can get annoying. Switching timelines makes it more exciting, as you actually want know what happens in both past and present.
Feud isn't perfect in any way, of course. I don't like sound effects (overused funny noices), OST is also lacklaster for such a drama. Secondary characters, except few, are boring and just feels like fillers.

Among many dramas these years, this drama was low on my watch list since ZBB isn't my actor. But I wanted some traditional xianxia, so I decided to check it out. And I didn't noticed how I binged 33 eps in just a few days. I really didn't expect it to be so good. Sadly, ZBB still not my actor, but the drama has such an amazing plot with so many mysteries and unexpected turns, most of the time I am at edge of my seat eager to know what happens next. Also, as romance xianxia fan, this one has one of the best and coherent worldbuilding I saw in a drama. They have a clear and thought through mythology of world and deities. When drama set ups a mystery and then explains it, it just so satisfying to watch, because everything makes sense. This is smth most xianxia dramas normally lack. I started the drama for some epic fantasy romance but actually stayed for the plot and action.
Fight scenes and visual effect are so exciting to watch.
Character wise, I think all of them are decent. ML is such a green flag, so even though he is boring for my taste, I still like and root for him to get his HE. FML is very quirky and fun to watch, especially in initial episodes, though I wish they give her a little more purpose except just love ML and do everything for him. Her personallity and powers just asks to have some other character goals. I love all secondary characters, somehow I don't even skip all subplots, because invested in every story, this is very rare for me. All characters stories very touching and they don't drag much, while connecting to main story. GJM charachter is underused though. I got SML syndrom here, and NXY has my heart 😅 He is just so beatifully complicated, tragic, good and bad at the same time, so well acted, he became my favorite.
I am few episodes in past memory ark and it feels a little draggy compared to intensity of other episodes. However, I do think Emperor ZM is very exciting character and kinda fits ZBB more. I am kinda scared to finish the drama and get dissapointing ending (which many xianxia dramas have) since it was so amazing so far🥹

So I am wanna start some drama after few months not watching any.
I am torn between SoKP and My Journey to you. Anyone who watched both dramas, can maybe share their feedback, which helps me decide 😄
I am mostly into xianxia but cant see any right now that picks my interest. Plots in both dramas seems intriguing, and I love actors.
P. S.: Please, refrain from comparing actresses, cause I adore both BL and Esther.

I was so optimistic when we had main plot resolution in penultimate episode. Thought, yay we going to have full episode of couple getting back together, being lovey and cute or maybe small fast life. But no, they decided to drag out the episode with basically 80% of filler to have classic xianxia 1 min reunion ending. And here went my last hope to rate this drama higher.

I maybe write a more detailed review, but overall this drama is such a mess. It had few very good episodes, it is very pretty to look at and some actors are fantastic in their roles (evil brother such a good actor, he gave the villain much more depth that story gave him). Chemistry took time to build up, but towards the end I loved it so much, that it was the only think that kept me watching. Story, however, lacked focus naratively, it was like they throw plot points just to have plot moving without proper build up or logic behind, and some were so meaningless in the end. Like seriously, so much talk was about stone heart, and at the end it served no purpose in the story, just to create drama for second couple.

There was no balance of screentime between main leads and secondary characters. Some episodes are like 80% abt secondary characters. I fastforwarded around 40% of drama, I think, because it's just dull meaningless dialogues.

Directing is weird, I can't understand why they gave YCY so many crying moments, when everyone clearly can see she is lacking there. At the same time DYX, who is much better actor, seemed always had angsty moments very brief and cutoff.

The thing I loved in this drama are costumes. They are all so pretty. Especially demonic life, leads styling and outfits are one of the most creative and beatifull I have seen in Cdramas.
Overall, I liked main couple story, their trust to each other, and that they worked together on their problems. I wish screenplay wasn't so silly and generic.

This drama was my most anticipated drama for few years, so it's sad it ended to be mediocre. I still believe if they just followed plot of the novel, with those amazing production values and good chemistry between leads, it could have been very good drama.

Binged latest episodes with Empress & the Prince and OMG, this is like totally different drama smh. Why they didn't start with that couple dynamic from the start. IT IS SO GOOD. That's why I wanted FML bold, strong and quirky. With funny banter, the chemistry is sparkling. And, as I thought, YCY so much more natural with CH personality. Just give her more baddass/ funny scenes, not crying ones (I am not a hater, but her limited acting range is so apparent with sad scenes). I just love everything CH does, when she is on screen.
All secondary characters much more interesting in past life, except CK brother motivations a bit silly. Protector's story is engaging, XM has nice character development, there is a nice balance of humor/ romantic moments/ storytelling. Seriously, drama, why couldn't you be this good from the start, wouldn't get so much critisim then!

Tbh, I think it should have been original drama not connected to novel.

This is first time from the start of the drama, I cannot wait for next episodes.

I really want to love this drama, but I can't...
I liked almost nothing abt General n the Princess life except FML look, outfits and styling is just so pretty. Plotwise that life is so meaningless, I dont know even why they had it (only for small clue for XY friend dissapearance?). FML death was so silly, they should have just followed novel plot more for her death, it made much more sense.
I dont like YCY acting that much, but I did enjoy her portrayal, when their bodies were swapped. I feel like that she shines much more when she plays someone strong and quirky instead of pretty crying girl, she seems more natural then.
I love when couple is flirting, those scenes are the only ones that I don't want to ff, and chemistry is so good. But these scenes so rare.
I wish drama was a bit more lighthearted, with more funny flirting bickering scenes, I dont know why writers made it mainly about drama and tears.

Finally have time to review what aired so far.

I am huge fan of the book, which I read multiple times, and really can't undertand why they changed so much. Especially the dynamic between leads, their bickering relationship so funny in the book, and FML character has bold and sassy personality, whereas here she is a such a typical FML.
Second life was a little too draggy for my taste. I understand why they needed to add more details about their families, cause novel describes it very generally. But it was very annoying when in some episodes secondary characters seemed to have more screentime than leads. I fastforwarded many scenes , because i was just so bored. I loved initial episodes of this life where FML was sassy and did some tricks on ML.
Third life is better, cause it concentrates on leads romance, it has funny secondary charchters, that dont take half of screentime. I like the comedy, everything is just cute, although some scenes are a bit silly. I am getting mostly annoyed by changes from the book , which I guess not a valid critism point.

Overall, I think the drama is okay. I am not sure, if my high expectations and love of the source material prevents me from loving it or if it's actually the quality. So, I am wondering, how those who hasn't read the book feel about the drama? In current life I keep thinking how events were much more exciting in the book. Second life mostly followed events of the book but this one is completely different except master-discipline premise and I guess the heart ending.
I like costumes, visuals, chemistry is there (not sparkling but it's there), acting is decent (except YCY in more dramatic scenes a bit weak, but not distractingly weak). Some editing was weird, like in second life they used so much fade to black. I am glad, they stopped it now.

Looking forward to seeing how this life ends and to next one with body swap, it's my favorite life in the book, hopefully it wouldn't be changed too much.

OMAGAD! Is it trully gonna air this week! I already lost hope it release this year. Seems like waited ages.

Maybe i write something more constructive and coherent later, but right now i just want to repeat:
THE MOST USELESS ML I EVER SAW IN A DRAMA!!!
He didnt even contribute anything in final battle!

This rarely happens with me, but I actually regret watching this drama. It's so dumb, everything is so dumb I am so mad at this drama, I cant even find the words to describe the dumbness.

Also, now this drama feels just like a bunch of events happening one after another without any proper reasoning or character development. Nothing makes sense narratively.
I think this drama has many weak points, like direction, acting, editing, but the worst is the screenplay.
I am sorry, I am always trying not to be too negative in discussions, but I am actually attached to the drama, and watching it against all shortcomings. It realy pains and frustrates me, what it has become.

I think in episode 15 or 16, they explained clearly why Heavenly Emperor want Phoenix to die. He thinks she is going to bring chaos/ calamity or smth to the world. Also, his first wife/ YY mother died because of Phoenix.

I seriously want to rage quit after episode 30.
What's wrong with screenwriters, I am trying my best to like and root for YY, but he becomes worse and worse character with each episode. Arghhhh... Amnesia plot twice???!! Having family with someone else?? I could understand if at least this was a way of coping if WZ died and he had his memories. But it isn't the case, she was in coma for 30 years because she tried saving him from being killed by his father. And he just has happy life whereas WZ has to be the one suffering again. In one life he brutally betrayed her and then got amnesia and led normal life. And in this life he failed to protect her even when MN sacraficed himself so he can save her, and again he has amnesia and lives happily. Like WTH! I am not a bloodthirsty person, but please, make him suffer. This is too frustrating, this ML is the most useless ML I have ever seen.
Also, why WZ is so soft, she keeps forgiving and finding excuses for him, just slap some sense into him, you slapped him before for much lighter reason. She wants to do what? I really wanted more reaction from her, not just being shocked for 2 secs and then having nice chat with his family, while planning to destroy it?
It was so frustrating I just need to vent, not even gonna put it under spoiler.

I think, she had decent fight scenes, whe she was Commander.
