I am only on episode 3, but the silly, childish humor is dragging this drama down

I assume you never watch movies, they manage to have amazing world building, character development and have multi-layered stories all in a couple of hours, even the trilogies only add up to 6 to 8 hours in total. A 24 episode drama will add up to 16 hours, that is more than enough time to tell a story, if they want 60 episodes then make 3 seasons

I have started many Chinese drama's and finished very few, even the one's I finished were always too long.

I was thinking about watching this drama, but then I came here and found out that it's 59 episodes long.
The 24 episode Chinese drama's are normally 10 episodes too long, 59 is just ridiculous!

The mini drama's seem short at first because they are only 10 minutes per episode, but when you add them up they are normally 3 hours long or more.
The problem I have with them is the same I have with most C drama's, they start good, but then the end ruins it.
I used to watch Korean drama's, but after they became popular on sites like Netflix, they started to create them for the western market and the standards went down.
C drama's are advertised on Youtube, there are many small clips popping up on my feed and this is how I started watching C drama's.
I have liked some C drama's, but I do find a lot of them rather toxic with unlikable characters, they somehow glorify this behavior and turn it into a love story.
I really liked the drama Fall in Love (2019), it was only 30 episodes, but I still had to fast forward the last 5 episodes because they just sank into clown world.
I really liked the drama at the start, both the ML and FL were enjoyable characters and most of the side character were nice. There were some minor problems with the drama, but nothing to spoil it until the end and then it all went downhill fast.
So , my main problem with C drama's is they are good until they are bad, they never know when to end and after investing time in them and watching 20-30 episodes you will always be left with a bitter taste in your mouth at the end

I know there are short drama's, I tried the 24 episode drama's, I even tried the mini drama's that are 10 min per episode, they are all too long.
The problem is there is a formula to Chinese drama's and it doesn't matter how long the drama is, they always stick to the same formula.

Obviously when I spoke about the drama's always being too long, that is just an opinion, but when I point out these drama's have a formula that they all follow making them similar and repetitive, this is a fact.
I wrote one comment about how 40 episodes was too long for a Chinese drama, I never kept on about it, I just replied to people who wrote to me.

You picked little buzzwords from my comment, but I noticed you didn't disagree with me.
I looked up this drama on Dramacool, the first comment was about how the ML actor always plays the same character in his drama's, I previously said the same about the FL actress.
So we have a drama that is very similar to many other drama's before it with the main actors playing the same character they played in previous drama's, and to make it worse, it's 40 episodes long

I would probably say that all Chinese drama's should be shorter, maybe 5-10 for a 30-40 episode drama.
I did start to only watch the drama's with 24 episodes, but then even those needed to lose a few episodes. I said in a previous comment that in most of the Chinese drama's I have watched they will have some hidden secret, it could be resolved many times during the drama, but we all know they are going to keep it secret so it will cause problems later and pointlessly drag out the series.
Most of these drama's will remind you of a previous drama you watched because they are just regurgitating the same storylines. The FL in this drama always seems to play the same character, the downtrodden but strong woman that lost everything but never gave up, she will fight back and win by the end. Her voice tells us what kind of character she will be, if she sounds like an adult woman then she will be like this, but if she's got the lispy lil girl voice she will be weak and pathetic working for a horrible CEO who treats her badly, but somehow she will fall in love with him. He will get ill and fall in love with her after she blows germs all over the soup she is feeding him in his sick bed.
Even the drama's I have liked should have been shorter, they just can't help but add some pointless storyline that goes no where and was never needed.

4O episodes is not too long for me if the drama is worth 40 episodes, I just have never found a Chinese drama that couldn't shave off 10-15 episodes and make the drama better.
In most of these drama's the ML/FL will keep a secret from the other, there will be multiple times they could tell the other one, but they will not. 5-10 episodes before the end the secret will come out and then we have some new pointless storyline that could have been resolved multiple times during the drama

I did say why 40 episodes is too long for a Chinese drama in my comment, I have never watched any Chinese drama that couldn't have shaved 10-15 episodes off and made the series better.
The shows that you mentions with 100-200 episodes can't really be compared to a Chinese drama. They did have many episodes, but they were different seasons with different storylines, even the seasons were broken up with different storylines each episodes.

I have seen a few clips of this drama and thought about watching it, but 40 episodes, 40 episodes!.
I have never watched a Chinese drama that needed or deserved that many episodes

2Gether was one of the first BL drama's I watch and at that time I finished every one I started, by the end I hated Win and was not that happy with Bright.
It's been a while since I watched it so forgive me if I get some bits wrong. I believe that both characters were meant to be straight and that Bright saw Win at a concert and fell in love with him .
Just that part of the story wants me to get a bucket and throw up,
Why are they straight?
Where are the gay characters in BL?
This is why I say that BL is like the perv section of gay porn, it's always straight people being converted or getting drunk and sexually assaulted. In Gay porn they always accept it, even when they wake up half drunk they accept it.
The problem is these drama's are not porn, they should have some morality and show right from wrong.
I am meant to like the characters in BL drama's, cheering them on and hoping for a happy ending, instead I normally want one to be punished and the other to find someone better.
Anyway, a year after seeing him at the concert Bright concocts the most convoluted plan to make Win fall in love with him.
He could have become friends with him, could have told him he liked him, but instead he decided to lie and manipulate him even though he knew he was straight.
Halfway through the drama I really didn't like Win, he was selfish and nasty and I couldn't understand why Bright liked him. Later on I find out that Bright was a liar and a manipulator and I realized they were both not very nice people.
They did the normal BL drama thing where they started dating ,then just before the end they broke up for some silly reason, then got back together for the end . It seems to happen in nearly all BL, a painting by numbers theme that's very generic and rather boring,
Win was straight, he had the ugly gay man chasing him around and trying to date him, he wasn't interested, but then a good looking straight guy appears and he turns gay.
Maybe he would only go gay for some straight D, or maybe it was because Bright was better looking.
I could never figure out the moral of the story, was it that manipulating a straight guy works just as good as getting them drunk?

I see you decided to cherry pick what I said and change it to suit your narrative, I said most not all. Maybe I should have said most I have watched, but then that seems obvious, I can't have an opinion on drama's I haven't watched.
If we are going to list of drama's then lets do that ,
KinnPorsche, Together with Me, 2Moons2, TharnType, Moonlight Chicken, Love by Chance, Make It Right, Close to you, Big Dragon, Bed friend and probably many more all had drunk rape that turned into a love story.
KinnPorsche had a gay guy drug a straight guy so he could rape him, he was saved by another gay guy who then raped him himself.
Close to you had a guy get his brother drunk on his birthday so he could rape him.
Love by chance had a boy help his friend rape his older brother.
Make it right had two rape to love stories.

Love in the Air, Cutie Pie, Ai Long Nhai, Jun & Jun, 2gether, Unforgotten Night, La Cuisine and many more mentally challenged boys being manipulated and coerced into a gay relationship, not really a love story.

I couldn't be bothered to list all the straight to gay drama's, if I remember right, both ML's in 2gether were straight, but after being manipulated one straight guy managed to turn another straight guy gay.

This drama is about reincarnation, not only did he come back a different sex, but he was also nothing like the woman he loved in anyway. It wasn't like she came back in another body with the same thoughts, feelings and personality, she was a completely different person and also a man.
Maybe they will do a drama where the person is reincarnated fat and old or ugly and crippled, then we will see how what's on the inside is the only thing that matters.
I have given my reasons for not liking this drama or the agenda that it is trying to push, I don't think there is much more I can say on the matter.

Why does no one find it wrong that she came back a man, they all tell him it's fine and he should just go with the flow. He is a straight man that waited 100 years for the woman he loved to be reincarnated and everyone just laughs and tells him to accept it.
If you are going to pretend that the only thing that matter is on the inside then stop watching BL drama's that only have good looking twink boys in them.

What does the BL audience want?
You say they want true love that goes beyond gender, but most BL doesn't even have a love story.
I always thought that BL drama's were gay drama's, I found out very quickly that this is not true, I have watched many genre's of drama's, but BL is the most toxic and disgusting . They are like gay perverted fantasy porn, straight boys getting drunk and raped, straight dumb twinks being coerced and manipulated into gay sex or straight guys turning gay. Most of the drama's are just a regurgitated version of a previous drama, the story will change a little, but the premise will be the same.

I understand the point of the show, it is to pretend that sexual love is fluid, when you want to push an agenda that men can become women and women can become men, then you also need to say that body parts are not important.
The problem is that body parts are important, the reason we have terms for straight, gay and bi people is because they all sexually like different genders/sexes.
The family that live with him are not all bisexual, why they would find his situation amusing , rather than horrid?
The drama decided to make every character find his situation normal when in reality it is far from normal, it is an obvious lie that you also like to push.

There are men and there are women, most are straight, some are gay and a few are bi.
The biggest problem for gay and bi people isn't straight people, it's percentages. People say that there are plenty of fish in the sea, this is true for straight people, but for gay and bi people it's more like a small pond.

When you are young and gay, if you are good looking and live in the right place then you might do OK, the rest will find it more difficult.
As you get older being gay is only going to get more difficult and your choices will get smaller, most gay people will end up alone.

Bi people have more choice when younger, but relationships later in life will be more difficult. Gay men and women mostly will not want to risk being with a bisexual, so most will need to find another bisexual if they want a relationship.

If you are straight, you do not want to have sex with someone of the same sex,
If you are gay then you do not want to have sex with someone of the opposite sex,

You are correct when you say that Gender identity and sexual orientation are different,
you believe that children can make adult decisions, life altering decisions that they will have to live with for the rest of there life.
You also believe that gay and bi adults are not always aware that they are gay or bi, but you also believe sexuality is fluid so gay and bi don't exist.

Maybe in the next BL drama they can have a female ML, she can then have gay relationship with the other ML.
