If you have to make that many assumptions to fill in the blanks for this to make sense, then the writing is bad.…
I think this story would work better if it were more introspective with some comedic relief. I feel like we don't know what Minato is thinking. We don't know the "why" behind a lot of his reactions. Maybe he doesn't know why? But it would be nice to know more.
This show/manga were always frustrating to me. I know it's not always black and white but, here are my thoughts:
- I think Minato is struggling with life in general. He quit his job and is living a less stressful life. Maybe he is wondering if dating Shin is an indication of his own immaturity.
- Minato is dating a 17 year old. Yes, I understand Shin is really forward, mature and kind of bulldozed his way into Minato's life, but for Minato if this is how he's going to react all the time, it's better to set a clear boundary and not date him. Tell him to go experience life and if you both are still available on down the line, THEN date officially. But Minato's lack of assertiveness, decisiveness and his inability to handle conflict are probably a result of his arrested development.
- I get why Minato is sketch about being intimate with Shin, Shin is basically a kid. I'm thinking Minato feels like he cannot handle the scrutiny that he will be under from society for dating someone SO much younger than him. Especially someone RIGHT out of high school. Even with Shin's parent's consent, that's a mental hurdle for sure. If I were him I'd question myself repeatedly. You don't want to expose someone to potential heartache willingly without being prepared to take responsibility for the emotional fallout.
so like does someone that read the manga wanna give spoilers because i am so impatient lol
How much spoiling you want? Because a LOT happens. I've posted this before.
- When Kazuma landed in the hospital, the police were called because they were teenagers found in a love hotel. Their parents were called and they all demanded to know why they were in the love motel. At first they assumed they were there with girls, but when the police pressed Ren for more information he lied and said he forced Kazuma to sleep with him. - Kazuma's mother was furious and Ren's parents disowned him, forced him to change his last name and shipped him off to a boarding school in France. - When Kazuma awoke after a month, Ren was gone and he had no way to contact him. His mother then sent him to the US. - In France, Ren attempted to unalive himself. He met the other designer, Yagami from ep2 in school in France. Yagami was interested in Ren, but Ren was hung up on Kazuma. Yagami even tried to hook Ren up with other guys and he would get physically ill. This explains why Yagami knew who Kazuma was when they were introduced. - It's later revealed that Ren knew Kazuma was going to join his company. The "surprise" he expressed when he first saw him again was to hide his excitement at finally seeing him. - It's also later revealed that Kazuma searched all over Europe trying to find Ren but couldn't locate him because Ren changed his last name. - Kazuma's mom runs into Ren and they talk. She reveals that she witnessed Ren crying next to Kazuma's hospital bed and she felt that he wasn't being honest about forcing her son to sleep with him. She was envious of the love he expressed for Kazuma. She eventually came around to the idea of them seeing each other. - Kazuma and Ren start dating and move in together. Ren finds a box in Kazuma's house with all his research from when he was trying to locate Ren all over Europe.
At Work - Its revealed that Kazuma's awful boss has a history of SA and SH and many people have either quit or gotten fired because of him. Ren encourages one of his co-workers to report the boss. In retaliation, the boss lures Ren to the office and attempts to SA him. - Both Kazuma and Ren team up to take the boss down and he is eventually brought up on charges.
For Seonwoo is very important how people see him, what people think about him and that makes him look like self…
I agree with the low self-esteem bit. When he was talking to Jun Sung he seemed uneasy because Jun Sung was so confident of his feelings. At first I thought it was because he didn't want to say anything definitive because he was still playing the field but then I remembered he reiterated that he didn't want people to have negative feelings towards him.
Even how he came out to his friends and family ONLY because he was going on the show. He reminds me of my younger self, I'd only admit to something when forced. Otherwise, you gonna get this smiley and amiable version of me because I don't want the conflict or to face my own feelings. Being like that put me in a lot of bad situations and made people angry with me when my true feelings finally surfaced. Even I didn't know what my feelings were.
You can totally like someone that you have spent 4 full days with, even sleeping in the same room. It's like they…
This is a GREAT point! They are basically getting to know each other uninterrupted for 4 days in a row. No work/school/family obligations to disrupt time. Just hanging out and getting to know one another.
Jun Ha is a real piece of work. First you cheat on Yeon Doo, kick her to the curb when you find out she's preggers, LEAVE THE COUNTRY, come back with no intentions of contacting her, see her randomly on the street, get in a pissing contest with her new husband, THEN you realize... "Oh I really loved her I want her back, but I want to make her new husband suffer more.", NOW I want my baby and the mother.
The mental gymnastics it took for him to get here is astounding. Jun Ha is a scumbag through and through.
There is an important message in ep11 in relation to marriage and love.
Love isn't the only ingredient to a successful marriage. You must have similar familial goals and values to make a marriage work. Also, if it's not working and you've grown apart, you have to love the other person enough to let them go and find what they are seeking in life.
Tai's parents are a great example of a mature and loving divorced couple. Even though they didn't communicate with the kids the way they could have, they at least communicated with each other and were clear on why they wanted to separate and how they wanted to parent the kids after that separation.
I love GuWon’s character too. He’s been dealt such a shitty hand in life and yet, he’s kind and compassionate…
Fair warning on "Hit the Spot" it has an NC rating, BUT it's not smutty. It's tastefully done in my opinion. But I recognize it's not everyone's speed.
The dialogues are so damn witty and hilarious!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The comedic writing is so perfect. I've laughed so much with this series. I compared it to Dali and the Cocky Prince last week and that still holds true. The characters are so lovable and relatable.
I love GuWon’s character too. He’s been dealt such a shitty hand in life and yet, he’s kind and compassionate…
I agree wholeheartedly! This show is really well written. I love that Gu Won didn't shy away from her friends and was perfectly ok with expressing the reasons he showed up without fear or hesitation. He's sending Sa Rang clear mature messages, without all the games her ex played.
The maturity of this character kind of reminds me of the ML in "Hit the Spot". No games, just clear communication of his intent.
It was a fun episode, but the Arab prince representation was so cliche.Of course it's gonna be that "would you…
Yeah, I didn't care for the stereotypical Arab prince. I'm HOPING it's just a prank. Like the prince knows Gu Won likes Sa Rang and he's just making him jealous for funzies. I hope this is the twist we see in the next episode.
I said this last week and I will continue to say it, Gu Won's assistant, Sang Sik is one of the best written sidekicks in any drama I've seen of late. Gu Won needed that reality check. You can't help the people if you have no power. Sang Sik is giving him practical advice on how to take the reigns without beating around the bush and being sycophantic.
Sa Rang is such a relatable character. Needing to always be strong and independent definitely makes it hard to allow someone to do things for you. Her mini-date with Gu Won reminded me of how difficult it can be to allow yourself to be "soft" and cared for. Gu Won is the perfect match, he forces her to accept his consideration, while allowing her to still be herself and taking advice and pointers from her at the same time.
Their budding relationship is a great example of how not to lose yourself in a relationship but to allow yourself to be enhanced by the experience of your partners love and care.
Usually I skip past the serenading scenes in all dramas but for some reason Gawin had me stuck and in tears. It was so raw and beautiful and not cheesy like most.
I think caught an infection from the love motel someone mentioned it being in the manga, hopefully when they discuss…
Based on clues from the show and from the manga, the love motel was moldy and dirty, Kazuma was already wet from the rain and wiping his eyes from crying. There is no telling what he caught. He had pneumonia first and then developed meningitis.
