Her name is Lin Qi Le - Yingtao (Cherry) is her nickname that her friends & family call her - when they are…
I know the nickname part but translating that too like their dialogues feels weird. As you said I guess it is to differentiate when they call Qi Le Vs Yingtao but again people can hear it clearly no need to translate!
I have two questions if somone could please answer. 1. How come as soon as the school ends and the kids head out home it is like already dark. I have seen this in other dramas as well. Not just in this one. Is it due to the time zone difference that it gets dark pretty soon in that time of the year in China or is it just in dramas to look pretty and aesthetics of the night ? 2. Why the subs use Cherry for Yingtao. I mean I know Yingtao means cherry but it is still her name. Everybody's name will have a meaning but in subs atleast in the "non official" sites it is only for FL they show Cherry. I don't know I feel weird to read that whenever someone calls Yingtao. Haha.
How are they going to finish all these things in just 24 ep cause I somehow feel like there are quite gaps between…
I can understand. Although, I love the pairing, the story , the actors, the location and many more things... it could definitely have been made better. It is choppy and all over the place in many episodes and scenes. It is not as tightly structured as it should be.
Not really. When half or more of the episode is about random school students and teachers behind FL for being…
It was in episode 9 where they showed her friendship with Yeyun fully is what I remember. Episode 8 I am talking about mostly the scenes where they show the whole school is in uproar just because a girl is found with a guy. Anyways whatever the episode number point is basically the whole school gossiping along with getting parents to the school just because she is friends with the guys etc was not enjoyable to me. It was a bit much. It still makes sense if it leads to something in a story. But here it just happened for nothing and it was forgotten. I love Youth dramas and WIFTY is my favourite. I do not know how to explain but WIFTY is way more organic that way. Here it was a bit all over the place around episode 7 and 8. As I have said in earlier threads, it caught up in episode 9. Problem is not FL's friendship or showing her life but the whole imaginary made up fiasco which did not go anywhere that I had problem with :) Anyways, if you are enjoying to the fullest it is fine. I was just explaining perspective of people who mentioned filler episodes and because the above comment mentioned that it was double standards which is not the case.
I don't understand the double standards. When FL spends time with ML it's for romance development which is true.…
Not really. When half or more of the episode is about random school students and teachers behind FL for being with her guy friends for no valid reason then it becomes a filler episode. It does nothing to the story and it is a bit much. Just pointing that some like me felt it is filler episode because of that. We found episode 9 wholesome and enjoyed it because it showed FL and her friend's friendship and team work. Nobody complained on that.
There is one original creator, the novel writer,& then There is our screenwriter for the adaptation...😅
I second you . ML scenes are not only missing whatever scenes are there those are rushed as well. I found specially episode 8 as a waste of time . Quite a lot of school gossiping scenes are over the top and repetitive as well. After that it picks up thankfully
I've he'll be a good actor with time only if he'll be willing to learn and from this role I can feel he actually…
To be honest for me he fits this kind of role. Coincidentally, two shows I have watched of him both Flourish In Time and this show he is this silent school kid types which does not need a lot of versatility so I did find him fitting the role and acting is okay not bad at all. Nothing awe inspiring but not bad as well.
Having said that, I do not see him as flexible as FL. He definitely is very stiff and does not allow himself to loosen himself and jump into the character the way Jinmai does. So I cannot imagine him doing any eccentric and vastly opposite role like may be the way the male lead of Someday or One day did.(i honestly cannot remember any C Drama actors to compare. Someday or One day is an amazing Taiwanese youth drama by the way if you haven't heard or watched) . He definitely has room to improve. But I do not want to go as far as to say he dragged the FL down because at the end of the day both their dramas are extremely popular. So both benefited out of it.

But his work in Flourish in Time which is about a disabled poor person. I do understand the situation of "idol" actors in C Drama but w.r.t ZLH he did not hesitate to be the disabled no make up looks in that drama. I do not know about his current filmography but he did start out well that way.
I'm still on episode 8 of Best Thing and I'm not sure I'll continue because it is so boring but I like the male…
Same while everyone were gushing about the best thing drama I got bored and dragged myself to 10 episode or so. It also depends on your taste . I love youth school dramas because it will have the growing up phase so I don’t find it boring even if sometimes it’s just a childish happenings in school. If you like such dramas then this one is good . I personally liked ghis more than The best thing
I can't stop giggling whenever Cherry and XiXi having conversations esp when they show close-up 1st person view…
I have never seen so much blushing in Cdrama as this one ☺️ A little off topic. Is it only me ? I had expected period C dramas to have this kind of blushing and slow romantic and burn vibes when I initially started exploring them but I found period C dramas are more modern than modern C dramas.
Yikes, it turns out the school Principle and class teacher also need therapy lol🤧🤧🤣🤣.
But I found that is something would definitely happen in real life as well. He is a star kid. So principals and teachers would definitely be behind him. It is not only good for school's popularity but without knowing his background it is very rebellious as well . We are trained to "not waste the talent". So they are following the same mindset.
