It comes off like that. Your explanation still does not change the fact that there is a miss with so many of episodes without him. That is the whole point why many of them still keep raising it. . Complain is not that we do not see him with FL or that we do not know what is happening in his life. That is already clearly understood. Complain is we need to have enough of his scenes in his own perspective. Even it was about him and his parents fighting we saw only couple of shots of him while FL and her parents had good 5 minute discussion and more. We know what happened to him or what is going on but it is all in glimpses we have to imagine the rest. Episode 7 and 8 had even less of him. Despite they being separate there is 100 different ways to show his life, his feelings as well so that we get to know him and root for him in the present time. When we can get so much of FL then why not ML however not happening his life is. Your explanation is well intended but a few of us see this gap. It is our opinion of the show which I think you should respect. We both come from the same place i.e love for the show so...

Even friendship scenes can be wholesome and enjoyable to watch in these kind of shows but here I am somehow fast forwarding them!

I feel the same about less of ML scenes. I said in a different thread as well. ML is hardly there. We get a very little scenes of him even when the situation demanded. I would expect good 10 minutes of him when the fight broke out between the parents. We should have seen him. (Even in the scenes he is there it is in the wide angle shot. We do not get to see his expression for example when he apologises to her parents etc) Instead we got the literally everyone except him after that. Even the father of ML got a scene where he tries to unwind with a cigarette but not ML

Even in those dramas we would still see scenes of FL. What I am missing here is the scenes of his. More perspective of his

When your life is messy and you are living a life like that without friends who you miss I meant that juggle. I was just giving example of a possible scene. Now what they are showing in FL is also a simple school life isn't it. They can show the same for ML . why not? I am not saying show full episode of him. Anyways, fingers crossed. Hope we get to see him more.

Basically, I would want to understand and see more of present ML and understand his life and his perspective more which is lacking. Yes in WIFTY they were not friends so they showed their progress. Here they are friends but they havent met for years. I am sure there would be changes in them. Show us some moments where they get to know each other again. Some real talk. Not just kitten rabbit talks. Show some moments of his when he is trying to juggle his school, his messy life. Something. Anything.
Anyways, if you are not missing them at this point I think we have to agree to disagree and leave it at that. :)

Episode 8 right? what was that! That is what i was just complaining in another thread. Why he comes and goes without any context. I find his scenes are always way too abrupt.
Btw that scenes fits more to ITv dramas than C drama 😅

But in WIFTY he still had the scenes. May be not his background. He was very much present where FL and ML get closer, become friends etc. It is not heavily focused on FL alone although she is the one who brings everyone together like in this show. Here he is totally absent. We do not know how he has grown up in the present etc. We only get a glimpse here and there. WIFTY is a good example how to take you through the journey in a manner that you know both the main characters slowly.

No they do have a cold war of sorts but they dont get into an actual fight. At the end of epi, FL gets left out on the way though. Cen Xiaoman does play dirty tricks a lot.

Even that is enough. The way we saw FL writting letters or her yearning for him we do not see of him. May be even his daily life over the years. Even when his parents were fighting we hardly see shots of him and his emotions. We were instead seeing Yu Qiao going to call FL right after his mother and father started shouting. I find his perspective really lacking. Looks like I am the only one. For an ML he really have quite a low presence.

I hope so they bring more of his perspective soon. There is nothing to reveal. I am in episode 8 and we all know his family dynamics already. I get it why they would held up until he revealed it to FL but even that is done. There too we have one single flashback of his trying to go to Qun Shan that is all. I would expect him share a few more to FL as well as the audience. We would then be immersed more on both the characters.

I feel we are not getting enough perspective from ML side. We get mostly from FL only. Any scenes or flashback it comes and goes so quickly. We even have a shot of FL blocking every mess around her and go to an imaginary fairy land but when it comes to ML it is so far and between when he is supposed to be dealing with a greater mess. Even their phone call where he speaks is literally couple of sentences. Is it only me? Is it how novel was? Written from a FL's perspective or something

I can understand. As for the overall quality of the production house I agree. It is not upto their standard for sure. As you said even i felt a lot of choppiness specially scenes related to ML! The whole flow of the story too is not that engaging and tightly knit as it should be!

Also I am just too old(not by age :P) to adhere to words like fan/hater etc etc I just enjoy a show and move on while trying to have some good discussion if i find enjoying a show. So again I would like to say you do you. I do not have any objection of you stating your opinion.

He literally went behind her like a madman following the bus in the cycle shouting in the road that he wants to be friends with her. And you expect her not to ask him that? He is the one wanting friendship now. how will they be friends if he cant even write to her let alone meet. She is right in asking what is their future now. Also I think a few things we are losing in the translation Key word here is "context" i suppose. She literally cried for him when he shared how he had come searching for her. What else do you want from her. She is also a growing kid. I would say cut some slack if you still find her selfish than all I can say is everyone has their own perspective and we will have to agree to disagree and leave it at that. I see most of us in the thread do not believe her to be selfish.
