ML's mother is threatening him that she will transfer FL's parents if she comes to know he is in touch with them. She wants her son to be the genius like her first son was and not "fool around". That was why he was trying to stay away but also secretly somehow be friends with. her again as she is now in the same school.
FL is a very emotional person. You can see she holds on to her friends. JQX is very special to her since childhood. They keep showing their time together in childhood. And he has no friends. The other girl and the guy are more like his mom's appointed friends so they will not listen to him. They will bother her as along as they think she is involved with JQX one way or the other. But again they are also school kids. So they will do stupid things... We can see how easier it is. they wont

The most annoying bunch of class mates i have ever seen in school dramas. I mean outright slandering someone in front of their own friend and expect them not to get offended is wild !

Yep. I don't know how YingTao did not suspect her. Didn't both JQX and YingTao found CXM peeping at them? Atleast JQX knows becuase he clearly looked at her before answering sure in the answer paper

I guess it’s to each his own. Every personality is different . I don’t see any problem in her character so I was not giving excuse . I was giving background of her personality . I have seen in every group there are levels of extrovert to “bossy” as you put it. All won’t be the same . But again we can agree to disagree . Cheers :)

It is a broken family through and through. They seem to have never recovered from their first son's demise.

I really loved episode 6.
1. Finally ...finally JQX apologises and explains to YingTao what happened. It was very cute when JQX mentions his cousin and wife. That dialogue and expressions was super cute between the two.
2. The subtle to and fro between SML and SFL while playing football was nice.
3. Loved the ending shot. FL's family walks together vs ML's father walking alone. Camera focuses on their legs taking a step together. Love how FL's family is so supportive.

I don't think she is bossy. She has been the most extrovert and daring of the lot. And you can see that some of her friends like Du Shang etc have family problems. her family being relatively well off with no problems she has been the one around whom everyone cluttered. She was the one giving support to them. You can see that trait when she volunteers to steal the book to one of her friends when they were kids. With all this and being the only girl in the gang (most of the time with other girl hardly hanging out with them) she is pampered. When you are so close the running around, beating around etc are common when you are young. That is common. What I like about her is that she is perceptive. She understood Qin Ye Yun's feelings without her friend letting her know and she tries to help her. She also kicks the person who tries to attack one of her friends. She is not self centered.

Agree. But we also see he is most comfortable with FL to the point that he teases her. He also has confidence to demand YQ to give the letters back. So I don't see why he can't clearly communicate with her. If he does not want to reveal about his mother that is fine. May be start explaining how the letters were not made public by him.

Isn't it because his little brother/cousin used Yu Qiao's name to play with her. All the while she had thught she was playing with Yu Qiao

As of now it is quite a lot of "youthfulness" :P . They are still kids in school doing what the kids do. Friendships , family dynamics, bickering, fighting etc etc

thanks! i guessed as much but they should have shown this the way they show FL's flashback scenes. Hers is very smooth. You get time to feel while his it is hardly a few secs of his top shot. There is no proper flow. I hope it is intentional and they will show everything in detail what happened to him over the years when the outburst happens.

Usually its the SFL/"the other girl" who will be the nosy irritating person but here it is the friend of the SFL who is so nosy in ML's business. What is he getting out of all this. He is like a neighbourhood aunty who wants to gossip for entertainment :P

JQX should start explaining what happened with the letter. how did it reach that other guy. (Even we do not know. ) Then Apologise. Not randomly come to Yingtao asking for a fresh start. I am not getting his intention here. He wants her in his life but also does everything half hearted. What was that water bottle thing? What did he expect. If he was jealous he is more childish than when he was a kid.

Why is it feels like scenes of Jiang Qiao Xi are so vague. I did not get when his mom tore his letters ? Were it the letters he had written over the years or her letters or it is current timeline? It came so quickly out of nowhere where he says he has not forgotten anything and then his mom throwing his letters. I read that 40 epi was a rumour but the way some scenes are shown I wonder if there was so scenes being edited out or am I being dumb unable to understand. Someone please clarify what just happened there!

I guess you are looking for a perfect ML and a perfect FL in a story. If that is the case may be this is not for you. This is too early to judge the ML here. They are kids. He is trying what he thinks is right as he has been in a strict suffocated environment. He does not want to drag FL there. It might not be wise to insult her but they are all young. At the moment he did what came to him. If he actually does not learn and goes on like this than I would be right with you and curse the ML. Character arc is. what is important in stories like this

It is really a second episode and in both the scenes where he was cold to her they showed why he did it. His mother is literally watching him like a hawk eye. And the FL was pissed off at the guy. When did she beg ML. She actually told him outright that he was rude and it is not acceptable. Nowadays loving someone and trying to help them in their tough times when they can't give back as much has become weakness. I get that for far too long we had this asshole MLs in dramaland who were red flags so I get it but lets not jump the gun in just 2-3 episode!!

I so agree with you! i dropped First Frost because i found Sang Yan just living for the FL with no other personality. I could not even get to understand why he was interested in her in the first place. We get to see only moments where he does things to her from their school days but why? She should have done something other than dance to touch his heart! But no we have no idea what he thinks. , why is he in so much love with her that whatever he does in life is for her. nothing! This drama shows how to show the bonding and the relationship growth the right way. Anyways I am ranting too much about a different show. Point is this show is much more nuanced than TFF
