Yep nothing in Youth dramas are new but how it is handled is. Anwyays we have the right to be collectively frustrated when the characters does something like this as well 😄

Again this is an assumption we have to make. And I do not believe for so many days kids were unaware. Anyways we will have to live with this assumption and move on 👍🏻

Exactly. There is no buildup at all with the ML . He is literally absent. They did not have to add new scenes. The scenes they had was enough. Just add a few shots of him and how he is dealing with it. Be it his look when his mother tore his letters or when their parents were having fights. If they had showed him aftermath of that for even a minute we would get his feelings. His presence in the story

From the beginning this is what is irking me in this drama to be honest. It should be "show don't tell" but its "tell don't show" here. Even for crucial ML scenes in the first few episodes they did the same.

Agree 💯 I could understand when his mom was in the picture. I would even encourage FL to not leave his side when he was in that suffocated environment. Now I don't see any reasons why he have to behave this way.

The news should still spread if they have left office. And no coming and going for days should become obvious for such a community who keeps track of everybody's house. The way she reacted and grandma said it had been a few days. So it is not consistent to the premise of the story. You will know when you watch it.
At the end of the day we can assume a lot of things or understand the context like you mentioned but that is what is happening in the story. We have to assume a lot. Every little thing need not be shown but when these kind of big things we will have to assume or just ignore then it just does not contribute to a good enjoying flow for the story.
Atleast that really bothers me. In a youth story, there is nothing big happening. It is little things like this that matters.

Every little fight of Jiang family was public in the neighbourhood but them leaving the house nobody knew ? They work in the same company isn't it ? It did not become topic of discussion in their work place? Even if we say elders kept it a secret everyday they walk around in the same road so she did not come to know about it? It is unbelievable!! People might come at me for all the complains but I am sorry I can't help it. Episode 15 has a lot of loop holes IMO which I want to ignore and enjoy but it becomes glaringly evident then can't help but rant about it.

Wait, episode 15 is quite confusing.
First QYY says JQX has stopped responding to Du Shang and then FL also says how he stopped responding to everyone slowly and about getting overwhelmed. And immedately next scene she talks aobut how JQX has become chatterbox and talks a lot and also says to Mr Cao that JQX helps his son. Either something is lost in translation or the timeline is again off.
I mean we can deduce that he was in touch with all of them, was talking a lot and then stopped but the whole scene flow is reverse IMO

There is one scene that stood out for me that sorta gives romantic undertone when they were kids . Yingtao reminisces him holding her hand when he saved her by touching her own hand so I see your point .( This kind of scenes are very common in Indian dramas so I know)
Having said that considering how they were so close to each other for two years her writing letter for 5 years i think is not obsession considering she did not know he was not reading it. Her friends who moved to his school before her gave her impression that he was busy to write back. . I think those episodes were quite choppy so the whole timeline seems confusing
As to why she was fixated to him was because their relationship equation was like that’s. She was the extrovert but extremely emotionally available person. You can see with that scene with uncle wang too. She is the sort of person who would try their best to maintain any relationship. Here it is extra special with ML

Oh good to hear I am not the only one. I had such high expectations for that drama and was such a disappointment for me :(

I do not care about heat index and such too. (I don't even know what that means :D) . At the end of the day it does not matter as long as we are interested. but I follow this channel called AvenueX in youtube. So I get to know a thing or two about production houses, various platforms etc..
This production house is known to do due diligence before taking up any story. Even for Reset if you haven't already heard, it seems the original novel did not have that much back story for each character but they worked with the original author to come up with the screenplay that works best for a drama.

Haha that is one way to look at it. He was born to love her :D . I found Hidden love had that kind of slow establishment of the relationship. So i assumed the novel had it!
Yep. Reset is a gem. I would list it on the top any day if someone asks me for C Drama recommendation. One of the reasons I was keen on this drama is because the production house of reset is producing this one as well :)

Thats actually good that it did not bother you :). You could enjoy the show with good actors and great visual :D. I could not continue the drama because of that. I love BJT and the FL was good as well but I could simply not relate due to that. I just kept wishing that they showed school days a little more but never happened so I had to stop midway:(

I think liking someone is different from doing everything to be with them or going above and beyond for their happiness. We need strong emotional base for that kind of emotion
I found the first two episodes established the emotional base for the ML and FL well in this drama . So I do not question FL's unconditional love.
In contrast, This is what I missed in The First Frost. I could not understand the basis of the relationship between them that ML was willing to do so much for FL. (Their childhood flashback did nit contain one proper convo! It was only ML staring at FL dancing or helping her even then)

Agree 💯 it took me a while may be 4-5 shows to understand those concepts. In one of the early shows the FL was calling SML as seoungnim in a K Drama but Netflix used his name. It matters so much to know the context and understanding exact relationship and its undertones which we will miss if they change or ignore!

Thanks! It can be mentioned once in the bracket or something. I don't think the context will be missed by not translating the name. I mean it is explained once and cherry is literally everywhere(from her hair band to the desktop wall paper :D) for the reference and it can be added in subtitles in brackets once to understand.
Anyways, I know I am nitpicking. These sites we are watching for free afterall. Just wanted to check what is the case in official sites.
