I've finally come around to start this series and I have to say: I shouldn't have listened to the naysayers that told me this series isn't good and that it's unrealistic. I'm at ep7 right now and already there are a lot of parallels to scandals that actually did happen in the BL world. They took some creative license for this series of course, but that's ok. A realistic ending for story 1 for example would've been too bleak and depressing. But all in all, there are a lot of important topics being mentioned: The pressure actors are put under by both the management and the fans. The hypocrisy of having to act like a gay couple, but god forbid they're actually in love with each other! The exploitation and abuse by some rich dudes (and women too). Managers who act like friends or even their mom's (yuck...), but in reality treat the actors like a commodity that can easily be replaced. The rivalries and pettiness. Actors being overworked to the point of collapse and the list goes on! Those are all things that do happen in the entertainment industry. Because well, if you have a bunch of young pretty actors who're desperate for fame, you'll automatically attract predators who're abusing and exploiting them. All the more reason why a series like "War of Y" is so important. It's important to see the patterns in order to help the vulnerable ones.

Gagaoolala would probably disagree. I mean Playboyy broke all of their prior viewing number records and raked in a ton of new subscribers, so a few complains really don't matter🤷‍♀️

This is really one of the best series of the year! The fact alone that they're willing to discuss so many important topics, most of which I've never seen in any other BL before this one, makes it a great watch.

I'm not 100% sure but this is what I got: Prom and Porche aren't blood related brothers. They seem to be orphans who got taken in by that Jason Lee guy, who might or might not be the owner of the Playboyy club. In any case Mr Lee has a lot of money and eyes and ears everywhere, so he's probably a big shot in the underworld. And it seems that he doesn't take care of the two boys out of the goodness of his heart. At least Porche has a sexual relationship with him (Porche is basically his foster father's slave) while Prom just sort of tags along. If we can believe Prom's words, then Mr Lee is extremely possessive of Porche (Porche got beaten up just for looking at another guy...), so god knows what Mr Lee will do to Porche when he finds out about his "son" and Jump...

I'm just really worried about Phop OMG Someone protect him, please. Or he's going to get himself murdered...

The info about Nont's and Nant's parents + Nont living abroad was dropped during the promo phase, not sure if they've already mentioned it in the series. The rest i pieced together with infos from the last two episodes :)

Nont was living with their father in the US at that time (their parents are divorced and the twins got separated, each parent took one of them). So Nant was supposed to catch a flight to the US on their BDay, but never showed up at the airport. Shortly after, it seems that their mother died and then Nont went back to Thailand to find his missing brother.

Slowly the plot starts to thicken and we get to see more and more of the characters darker side. Nuth, Prom and Nont specifically, those guys definitely have a lot to hide... Meanwhile I've decided to adopt Puen and Phop (if anything happens to them, someone's gonna catch my hands 😤)

The preview for episode 6 already looks so wild. Everyone is switching partners and I'm so here for that :D

I used to make video compilations of funny jgv moments way back in the day (until YT nuked my account...). I don't know how it's nowadays, but back then a lot of the actors were friends irl and they were really cute with each other behind the scenes. They'd just goof around and pull little pranks on each other lol And yeah, in Japan they're really getting creative with their porn, they've got a lot of silly and experimental stuff XD

Yep. I know those lube mattress porns XD I also saw some bloopers to those and they were hilarious, cause the boys kept sliding everywhere except for where they were supposed to be lol They just ended up in a giggling pile on the ground. Also in jgvs they usually have to censor the dicks, so to get around that, they might put the actors into tight white undies and slather some lube over the whole thing: voilá! No censor pixels needed and you can still see everything clearly :)

Well that sucks... I honestly don't know why they gatekeep series/specials so much. I thought we had already left that behind us (10-15 years back I expected nothing else, but come on, it's almost 2024 now! 😥)

Hmm, I'm actually with Shin on this one. I'd be mad as hell if my partner lied to me to hang out with someone who isn't my friend anymore plus has a crush on my partner. That's a huge nope. Guy seemed nice at first, but he's kind of a red flag tbh

I think it must be the same building, yes. Phop seems to live there as well (they all have the same ugly type of bed ;;). And the underground garage of that building must be where they train and get together to drink.

I meant in a clean shower, not on the ground with motor oil and god knows what other chemicals and the odd screw or nail mixed together in a dirty puddle ;A; (I genuinely felt sorry for the actors, also they had to wear those wet undies for who knows how long... my heart goes out to them)

I asked the Google image translator about those trophies cause I was curious as well: They are 1st place trophies for his short movies that he won while he was still in school (there are actually more than just two trophies in his room).

I'd say it means that Nuth is a very passionate film maker, but now that he's older it's probably harder to find the money for his projects (school projects are cheaper for one, plus he might have had a scholarship or something like that back then). Nuth is currently resorting to borrowing the money and he's also producing porn videos that he then sells for a profit. He's also selling drugs. In short: He's willing to do pretty much everything in order to fulfill his dreams about making movies.

Why would you remove sex scenes from a series that's about all kinds of topics related to sex? That would be like sex-ed class without ever showing genitals or talking about how one gets pregnant... sorry but that's just an absurd comment

I want to see some good old shower sex, I like my boys wet :D
Also some more kink stuff with Nont and Prom as well as Porche and Jump would be nice.

I love this series so much, it really gets better with every episode!

By now Nont has spilled the truth about him not being his twin to Prom and the twink friends group. Which means they'll probably investigate together from now on :)

Also, if I got that right then Aob, Teena, Soong and Jump are all living together in the same apartment and they have a sort of sex friends polycule thing going on with each other. I definitely want to know more about that 👀
