Don't ask me... I think some people simply decided they're going to hate this series and they're going to boycott it no matter what. Maybe they want attention? Idk... In any case, Gagaoolala for example is using the very fact their posts about Playboyy get taken down to promote the show even more. They're now plastering huge stickers over nc scenes going like "nothing to see here! No sex at all! He's just receiving a massage from his dear friend ;)" I love the Gaga admins lol

Oh wow, I didn't know they went that far... I honestly don't get all the hate. I've watched a number of clips from the actors, there really wasn't anything weird. They're just cute silly clips...
Overall what bothers me is that Playboyy gets criticized for things that other series actually get praised for: - Depiction of queer life and messy relationships involving lots of sex? Only Friends gets praised to the high heavens for that. People even call that show revolutionary and daring! - Experimental cinematography? ITSAY, KP and other series get praised for that - Controversial & political topics? Not me, Shadow and Manner of Death get praised for that - Campy and sometimes even silly scenes? Unforgotten Night became somewhat of a cult classic for that very same reason! - Characters who're dealing with mental health issues? Again Only Friends gets praised for that And the list goes on! But when Playboyy does it, all of a sudden everything becomes trash and cringe and not worth anyone's time. Someone make it make sense...
Why does it have such a low score? I'm debating whether to watch this or not
People who don't even watch the series deliberately downvote it. They also keep reporting the Playboyy YT account (already two of their accounts got nuked...) and even Gagaoolala's Instagram and Twitter accounts for promoting this series. And why? Cause this series dares to talk about sex. That's why. It's pretty ridiculous...
Anyway, if you have an open mind, if you like camp and if you're ok with darker topics, this is the series for you! There are also a lot of cute and funny scenes. The cinematography is actually better than in most other BLs (it's comparable to Semantic Error and Kinnporsche: lots of colors and reflections and lines!), you've got some nice BGMs and so far I found all the characters likable (even the little annoying ones lol). There are a lot of twists and turns in the plot and also quite a number of hidden messages. You really have to pay attention to the details. Even a poster in the background or a simple necklace can mean something!
Damn, Yeo Woon's fondness is only at 8 points, but he's already such a goner for Myung Ha. I wonder what will happen when the fondness count reaches 100 🤭
I'm really enjoying this series! Rin and the three boys hanging out together was super cute :3 The only thing that's a bit annoying is the plagiarism plot. Tbh if I were Rin, I'd simply document my whole design process and present the evidence to my boss and/or plant fake designs that suck ass.
Do we even know why the boyfriend died? I was such a weird scene that he is shot and Foam is acting??? sad???…
I think Chris got shot by the henchmen of that mafia lady that barged into the club and beat people up in ep2? I think she's the mom of that second couple guy who keeps running away? Not 100% sure though... But anyway, judging by the intro, the boys seem to get involved with some shady mafia people, so that's probably why Chris died.
The second episode was a bit better, I think. Actually, you could probably skip ep1 entirely. All you need to know is that Foam/Ta travels back in time to 2018 to presumably save his future boyfriend's life.
On a side note: I find it quite fascinating how easily Foam was able to find a job. Boy just had to stand there in silence and he already got the job + new accommodations with a hot guy. Wish that was me lol
Just finished the series and damn... Judging by the post credit scene, Den kind of always belonged to the forest spirit? I hope he's doing ok in the shadow realm... Also, while it was really disturbing, I also liked that they included the plot about the Oktober 6 massacre of 1976. I read up about it (as much as I could manage without becoming too depressed that is) and damn... they really did fuck over those kids. Essentially a bunch of old right-wing guys decided it's totally ok to kill and torture all those students, just for the sake of staying in power. It's a pretty gruesome event in Thai history.
Am I right in thinking that Aob and Puen don't have a "true" connection to the Nant mystery? Yes, Aob works at…
That's the question... Aob said that he'd do anything for the right amount of money + When the other Playboyys quit their job at the club, they said that it's because their boss went too far and that Aob of all people should know best why they can't work there anymore. Meaning something pretty bad involving Aob must've happened. As for Puen, he might not be as innocent as he seems. He does seem to have high morals. On the other hand, it might also be the case that he only pretended to like Aob in order to learn from him and end up being the no. 1 at the Playboyy club.
This was probably the best episode as of yet! Damn, so much revenge plot going on, meanwhile Zouey and Teena only did cute things XD And about Nant... I'm starting to think Nant and Nont aren't that different after all. They're both unhinged and like to fuck with people's minds. I wonder if Nant really committed suicide or if he maybe faked his death...
Also, at this point I'm simply going to block everyone who talks shit about this series. I don't get it. If you hate Playboyy so much, why continue to watch it? I'll assume that all you want to achieve with your stupid comments is to get attention. Sorry buddy, but I'm not going to give you any :)
I've finally come around to start this series and I have to say: I shouldn't have listened to the naysayers that told me this series isn't good and that it's unrealistic. I'm at ep7 right now and already there are a lot of parallels to scandals that actually did happen in the BL world. They took some creative license for this series of course, but that's ok. A realistic ending for story 1 for example would've been too bleak and depressing. But all in all, there are a lot of important topics being mentioned: The pressure actors are put under by both the management and the fans. The hypocrisy of having to act like a gay couple, but god forbid they're actually in love with each other! The exploitation and abuse by some rich dudes (and women too). Managers who act like friends or even their mom's (yuck...), but in reality treat the actors like a commodity that can easily be replaced. The rivalries and pettiness. Actors being overworked to the point of collapse and the list goes on! Those are all things that do happen in the entertainment industry. Because well, if you have a bunch of young pretty actors who're desperate for fame, you'll automatically attract predators who're abusing and exploiting them. All the more reason why a series like "War of Y" is so important. It's important to see the patterns in order to help the vulnerable ones.
I’m pulling the plug on this degrading bit of sexploitation. I’d rather watch porn , which at least is upfront…
Gagaoolala would probably disagree. I mean Playboyy broke all of their prior viewing number records and raked in a ton of new subscribers, so a few complains really don't matter🤷♀️
This is really one of the best series of the year! The fact alone that they're willing to discuss so many important topics, most of which I've never seen in any other BL before this one, makes it a great watch.
I'm so confused about Prom, Porche and their ''father'' can someone explain to me..
I'm not 100% sure but this is what I got: Prom and Porche aren't blood related brothers. They seem to be orphans who got taken in by that Jason Lee guy, who might or might not be the owner of the Playboyy club. In any case Mr Lee has a lot of money and eyes and ears everywhere, so he's probably a big shot in the underworld. And it seems that he doesn't take care of the two boys out of the goodness of his heart. At least Porche has a sexual relationship with him (Porche is basically his foster father's slave) while Prom just sort of tags along. If we can believe Prom's words, then Mr Lee is extremely possessive of Porche (Porche got beaten up just for looking at another guy...), so god knows what Mr Lee will do to Porche when he finds out about his "son" and Jump...
