Joe is such an innocent and pure soul (at least it seems like that rn). Makes me want to protect him :3 Unfortunately, nice people like that tend to attract assholes, which is why I'm kind of suspecting that his bike accident wasn't an accident at all... Pretty sure someone got jealous of Joe or misjudged him or something like that.
Well, I'm not in a relationship rn. But if I can have the choice, I'd prefer to go poly, yes. Give me a man and a woman to love and I'd be happy as a bean :3
Recently discovered this little gem of a series. I'm in ep3 rn and I'm seriously swooning over those gorgeous ladies and their cute men. I love it so much š
So basically SooHyuk pays for his dad's expenses (who is currently still in prison?), he pays rent and other stuff for his mom and pretty soon he'll help out YoonDae as well? And he still has to take care of his own rent, food, etc. And all that without a proper school/uni degree, meaning he probably can't get any high paying jobs... Uff. My dude must be working 24/7 just to get by somehow ;; He's too nice, honestly. Most people would've probably said "fuck all" and would've left those moochers behind. I really hope YoonDae will end up helping him.
I can't shake off the impression that Kyosuke only messed with Takashi and Akihiro because he wanted to be the one who inherits the family business (judging by the huge traditional house, that business is probably worth a million or two...). And sure enough Takashi won't inherit anything when his mother passes away. Probably not even the family estate, since he's been given up for adoption and not legally part of the family anymore? So basically the villain won? Hmm... Also they were way too nice and understanding towards that so called mother. I would've decked the bitch on sight.
Just finished the series and it was definitely better than I thought it would be. I can see that it might be a bit slow paced if you only watch one episode per week, but since I was able to watch everything within like 3 days, it didn't feel slow paced to me.
I pretty much liked all the characters and the plot as well. Though I have to admit, that I like fucked up characters and at least 3 of them are REALLY messed up in this series, that is if you look past the cute rom-com vibes: Sky is basically doing the whole stalker and obsessed lover 101 (love that trope tbh). Then we have Venus who is suffering from trauma and burnout and he's trying to cover up his pain by being sassy. And then we have Janus, who is such a pervert! I mean the guy doesn't even shy away from making out in front of friends and family members. He's a bit kinky, that one :) (Someone should put a collar on him, just saying hehe)
Akihiro really lacks confidence and resolution... A single message from an unknown sender was enough to make him dump Takashi, the guy he was so determined to run away with wow And Takashi? Sorry, but he still seems like a playboy (a professor who shags his young secretary and possibly his students as well? Big yikes...). I think they're better off being single tbh
I liked this one a lot! Despite being a BL, it pretty much follows a classic KDrama plot with the somewhat naive cuties falling for the "bad boys" (if you think JooHa's bullying is bad, try sitting through Hana Yori Dango/Boys Over Flowers lol). I also liked that they included TaeYi's older brother and the whole internalized homophobia thing that's been going on with the boys. Those might be topics that are a bit too realistic for some, but they're important. All in all it's a good watch!
Iām leaning towards JapanKen for some enemiestolovers awesomeness
I can definitely see that! I think they'll end up liking each other. Which is why I'm kind of hoping all three of them will be in a relationship. But given the lack of throuples in BLs, I fear we won't get one this time either š
Khem has really fucked up now... It's not just his jealousy. He's been treating Wela like a baby, as if the guy isn't a grown up who has actually got a ton more experience than Khem (if I'm getting this right, then Wela's job at Deep Night isn't his first club experience either). Totally disrespectful and immature, if you ask me. Hope Khem's character will improve over the next episodes, because right now he's just a spoiled little brat (even made his mom cry like wtf).
On a side note: I'm totally here for the throuple between Seiji, Japan and Ken :D
Shout out to the costume department, cause the clothes and accessories they pic for the characters are beyond perfect! Shin's Christmas shirt in the middle of summer, Pun's musical cat sweater (his sweater game in general), the colors, THE UMBRELLAS - Love all of it :3
I love this series so much already š¤ You can tell it's from the same director as "I will knock you", which is one of my favorite Thai BLs. I think we're in for a wholesome and funny ride :)
I hate to say this, but the people from the rival group are actually the better cooks. Yes, they're bitchy towards Prem, but they still remain calm and professional in the kitchen. They work well as a team and their dishes look nicer too. With Prem's group it's always so much chaos... I'm actually surprised there hasn't been a major accident yet.
People who don't even watch the series deliberately downvote it. They also keep reporting the Playboyy YT account…
No engineers in this one :) And yeah, they really do challenge all the stereotypes, the ones you can find in your standard BL and even the ones within the queer community.
As for cinematography: Have you heard of the artist Nam June Paik? If not, I recommend looking him up. Some sets in Playboyy really remind me of his installation art. There is also a scene from the movie "I killed my mother" that they used as inspiration. Overall the creators of Playboyy seem to be quite knowledgeable when it comes to art and quer media.

Don't be shy, Thailand! Give me the throuple! XD
