I've really enjoyed all the villains we've seen so far. In any story, the antagonists drive the plot just as much as the protagonists, so a poorly written villain can ruin a story. In this show, we've been introduced to many antagonists and I find them all to be very interesting.
In the Luoyang arc, we have the truly evil mole guy who is the stereotypical villain, just plain evil, making you wish nothing but the worst for him.
Then there's Ji Shu Ran, the evil stepmother, who, despite fitting the typical evil stepmother trope, is very well-written and acted. Her character isn't boring and has an intriguing backstory that helps us understand why she became the way she is.
Next, we have Shen Yurong, a pitiful, cowardly, backstabbing cheater whom you can't help but feel sorry for, yet still wish for his downfall.
There's also the crazy princess, like a crazy ex with a lot of power and a penchant for BDSM. You hate her, but you also appreciate her craziness.
And of course, there's the Li family, always plotting in the cave.
Wang Xing Yue still not over wedding shots being dramatically cuts by PDs. I feel you boy. I feel youhttps://x.com/afterrnoont/status/1803103156009599034
i'm like begging them to release a special episode just dedicated for the wedding. They filmed for 3-4 hours, it needs to be cherished!
ep 31 wait do I see wanning wallowing in sadness calmly? *sends a person to kill WJY directly*nop there's my psycho…
haha forreal, i thought she was being normal when she refused the maid request to ask him to come over only to follow up with "let me show him what he's not allowed to do" lolol
As a musician myself I am slightly annoyed by how they kinda framed Jiang Li as a better player then all the people…
well, it wasn't just because she won first place in the qin contest among the students, but she got praised by one of the best music instructor/teacher in their time (that well respect old musician that travels the world and listen to music). This in itself makes her very good - way better than just a winner at a talent competition. I don't recall them ever saying she is the BEST qin player, but a very great/talented player, and the emperor wants to listen to it (since he wasn't there - and seeing she's the duke's chess piece, he knows she probably has some plan up her sleeve so he was also supportive on her performing).
My guess is wedding because it’s wine bottle and wrapped in red .( to mark a joyous celebration)
The rumors began due to another rumor that the platform had been warned about violating a supposed law requiring each episode to be under 45 minutes. However, many people, myself included, could not find any laws explicitly stating that episodes must be within a 45-minute timeframe. It doesn't make sense because if you look at any dramas on the Youku platform, most are over 45 minutes and have never received a warning. So, it is either 1) just a rumor, or 2) a little-known law that not many are aware of or enforce, but since this particular drama became popular, people reported it, prompting the authorities to take notice.
Regardless, due to this rumor, when Youku released a new schedule with only 36 episodes and a war emoji on episode 36 (while most people predicted the war emoji should've occur around episodes 39-40), it sparked another rumor. This new rumor suggested that because their previous episodes were over 45 minutes, Youku had to reduce the number of episodes to comply with the "law."
I hope that they're all rumors and I have no idea what I'm talking about because it would physically pain me to know we lost 4 episodes....that's like 3.5 hours of footage we could've gotten!!

i'm stressed cause the old calendar shows the wedding on ep 36: https://kisskh.at/photos/E53qgm_3 so if it's ep 34, that means that they did end up cutting the eps and we're moving everything forward, which means a lot of missing scenes T_T. Hope i'm completely wrong
