Moralistic drama on not taking the law into own hands by playing judge, jury and executioner and then blame shifting on to others ,ie not taking responsibility of one own actions. Abyss of evil as shifting blame is more evil than those who kill the physical body whereas the former type not only take lives but slowly killing the living relatives who not only lost beloved but suffering humiliation and ostracism from society .H had scorned X mindset of doing things (law) the right way against sentiments for though the law may looks cold but it's just and fair. Drama stand is clear from epi.1 of the 1st scene, showing a hanging man and killer going down on bended knees, for it cannot erase the fact that it's hanging justice and fairness. The last scene of last epi. ,freeing of the doves conclude drama message that it's freedom with peace of mind of doing things the right way and always taking responsibility of one own actions.

Han was worse than Zhang and Song who killed physical body but Han killed the body and good name of the victim, making his parents suffered not only lost of an only child but also humiliation and ostracism .Altogether Han, his friends and Chen Chun Li were worst, framing  an innocent man to shift blame; other ppl lives and good name are expendable and can be trampled on .

He 's passive aggressive hostile towards her and her son as she and he knows their relationship is fake.That scene where she was on the staircase looking scared as Zhang 's hands were on her son shoulders who was playing the piano, says a lot of tensions in the famiy. And also ML told the son after son told police that he don't know where his father was,ML told him to tell police if Anyone bully him.

Also drama has a lot of karma punishing culprits; so he likely impotent as punishment of raping and killing just like Han dying so young even if genetic, as he killed an innocent man, BDH.

Zhang boss has own family and Zhang is impotent so paid him to act as husband to his mistress and son.

Why did Han frame BDH for the murder of DJ when he said he wanted Zhang and Song to look like the killers of DJ?( That's why 3 of them stabbed DJ 3x, to made it looked like modus operandi of Zhang and Song, right?.)

The preview at epi7 showed HPM was so  certain his stepmother DJ killed his mother by hiring 2 killers. My theory is he turned the tables by   hiring back the same 2 killers to kill DJ. Those 2 were perverts and rapists,who maliciously corrupted the kids as participants in their killings so that they would not tell on them. HPM  have 2 best friends and 1 of them was  mooncake kid who out of curiosity and maybe inspirations for his novel writing went with them .The 3rd person in the photo was BDH ,who out of thrill when the other 2 spoke of their experiences went to next murder case. Xin had said he went as wanted to help a friend, who could be moon cake kid, who was so traumatized that he became a shut-in.

Maybe trick of keeping it's suspenseful and mysteriously interesting to viewers so later on there will angst and more life changing decisions.

To carry on the family name as only boys will keep surname while daughters will take husbands surname when married.

Moralistic drama of what it means of a successful life to different people..The ending episode illustrated that and also using the law to elaborate that everyone is responsible and accountable of one's own actions,regardless, and no refuge in age or sanity.In last epi,showing the old lady from 1st epi. who had bend the  law to lie to get back to unloving children who again discarded her back to nursing home.There is a  Chinese idiom ""螳螂捕蝉，黄雀在后" ( táng láng bǔ chán, huáng què zài hòu). "The mantis stalks the cicada, unaware of the oriole behind." YSF had said cicadas live underground and can only live for 1 month,above ground, in the sun.He returned AW,a shinny and pure hearted boy, back to nature, to the mountains to await return of his adopted hunter father .Not to be raised by DN or his biological parents who are liars and have blood stained hands.Also not to live in the concrete jungle so he wouldn't turn out corrupted beyond repair like those 2 tragic teenagers with acquired killer tendencies. Season2 ? No, the drama wrapped up to it's powerful message that " Right is Right and Wrong is Wrong".

She's the only one ,I understand as if she is afraid her mother will be disappointed with her or she's afraid her mother will control her more as her mother is such a control freak.

For me  as hist.fan, KTTPH is uniquely memorable for making ML changing mindset of ppl that soldiers fight for ppl of the nation not  for 1 individual be they be the general or the emperor. His mission was to change that with style of being cruel to be kind. That start of his plan by his fighting the imperial guards while tying red cloth over his eyes was like Japanese kamikaze  suicide squad tying white cloth around their head in Battle of Okinawa in WW2. His start of that plan hinge on 1 of the strategy of  36 stratagems/Art of War - Strategy 11: "Sacrifice the plum tree to preserve the peach tree" (李代桃僵, Lǐ dài táo jiāng) .Losing a battle to win a war .Sacrifices not compromises to win over people to change, and he also sacrifices his good name to live in infamy as atonement to his soldiers who had sacrificed.

And also as hist.fan,regarding age-gap issue, for that was history, prevalent during ancient times which production was going for authenticity and historical fact  
by casting HMH and AM who showcase their acting prowess in romance without kiss scene, kudos to both.Thank you  ALL for making this unforgettable epic.

For me, why the  commissioner didn't press ML to stay and the only smart one in the drama,. LQ, also didn't; the title give it away ,as from epi.1 ML was seen as a jinx, but to be more accurately a catalyst. He probably told the  commissioner that he himself ( commissioner )might be in danger if he stayed. There were 2  lies and 1 person believed a lie to kill. The letter to HQ was a lie. Lu actually died in  an accident but many thought he was murder. Bowen lied that he murdered Lu for Rong and used that  to blackmail Rong to pay him 20M. Drama could well be a comedy of lies and liars.

CYY was from noble class and he has never suffered from poverty ,with self righteous and noble attitudes of justice, rules and laws.He saved CXQ and brought him up as his clan member but with a snobbish, condescending attitude towards him as he was not of the same class ,poor and lower class.Feudal society has class mentality.

But CXQ love story with GJZ was already over when he stood her up at the bridge.She was rejected and humiliated without face to face meeting much like nowadays just rejecting on sms.She's a proud girl, and he didn't handle it properly.She also didn't handle it properly when he accused her of marrying into rank and money by marrying his uncle.She didn't explained and did closure like she did so well with YX, because CXQ hurt her pride.

Most likely script-writer ways of saying love is sooooo Blind?? So she took off her rose-tinted glasses and finally wrote divorce letter.

Thought- provoking drama for me on how to evaluate and create bottom line. 2 royals used by their guardians for their own selfish agenda.Princess to path way for grudge revenge and conquer by selfish father and emperor by elder sister who brought him up to keep him carefree and childish so can ruled behind the throne like a dowager empress.Meanwhile emperor has 2 brothers not blood related who help him ruling and keeping his kingdom safe.Bottom line which his sister never crossed was she never thought of killing him and neither did his 2 brothers and wife.No trust equals no peace of mind and no happiness.Contrast was main leads where there was trust from very beginning even when she didn't remember him as childhood friend.

SY was the hidden bait, so no recording  while TT was a junior who had to grow a backbone when rescued by YC.  Nothing is worth the price of self-respect and self worth. BLL knows her own type of poor ppl. who through hard studying and scholarships had the chance to join  a big company like Lysen .A poor resume without letter of recommendations and no connections if they refused will see themselves back to their poor rural hometowns.A blackmailer always knows victim's weak spots. YC found it hard at times to defeat BLL as she don't understand BLL's weak spot which she helped foster when young through  lying about BLL parents being diplomats working abroad making BLL living on false vanity and hopeless fantasy and no appreciation of her hardworking mother. Lies that  hurt in the end.

Those ppl. are very emotional and impetuous doing things without giving second thoughts  just like BLL and her mother who did such an irresponsible act without consideration for her paralysed husband's future care and welfare. That's why this drama is well written  because there are such ppl.
 Another point is such ppl. not understanding things also like BLL's mother, who doesn't understand why BLL resented her never thought to question why; same with  those ppl. ,don't  bother to ask in comment sections. For instance, drama didn't name the condition that made her absorbed her twin but 1 knowledgeable commenter gave detail explanations of " chimera". Possibly why rating for this drama is low as many don't bother to understand, clarify or elicit views and quickily jump to conclusion to trigger happy giving low ratings

She has found out that her rich father was not her biological father as she was kidnapped and sold to a rich childless man, thru YC.That epi. in which she video call her rich "father" and he told her the truth ,that's why her hatred against YC upped a notch for some ppl. ,when their light at the end of tunnel is dimmed they know they have nothing, no hope or like BLL, dream of getting back to rich dad, so turned more heartless and vicious .This drama have many themes and one of them is poor parenting. Family secrets like in BLL and YC cases should had been handled when young in the most loving and tender way possible by parents who will love and always be there for them for if secrets leak out they will feel betrayed and lied to and trust is gone Trust is foundation for any relationship be it family , friendship or love.

Read SM has some health issues and the medication made her put on weight. Probably like me. seen her years back in "Oh My General" and noticed this change .She picked this good script as she's the family jinx so can dressed in dark and sombre dressing somewhat hiding her figure to give her the Miss Doom n Gloom vibe while the real Miss. Doom, BLL, is dressed in bright and trendy clothing as appearances that can be deceiving, ,hiding her ugly core.
