I find this drama an interesting parody of recent history.Superpower bent on destroying weapons of mass destruction in the hands of a “mad “ tyrant. Paranoia, brainwashing and spinning. Many don't appreciate satire.

More like being foolish for that control freak was doing domestic violence even without a cert . Tolerance has to have a bottom line like ZB's wife. Slice of life drama showing how to live with dignity for you always deserve better.

Drama is very interesting and the writer is good at getting his points across.
One of them was the right way or the wrong way . What gave her brother the right to suddenly hurl cruel accusations against her when all this while he was living carefree without a care of her sacrifice to pay hospital and his schooling fees? If he cared so much where the money came from, he should have confronted her there and then, quit college and got a job to ease her burden. .Biting the hand that fed him. Such people are not worth the sacrifice.

You're right that she's not evil; rather it's more of a bias for she favoured her elder son more . So far all wives of the emperor were not evil. She can sacrifice YJ because there's Zhang who is very ambitious and more talented than other princes.Since as a new baby ,he was branded a jinx, it would affect Zhang's future. It's about calculating gains and losses.
She was affronted and hurt pride, dignity and reputation if her son wanted someone else as a mother. Secondly, it also hurt Zhang's chance.

Like script-writer's way of dispensing life lessons. To protest against rigid rules in this case ,by kneeling is akin to banging head against a brick wall. Better to make that rule work for you instead of against you.Playgirl got the man who she frivolously and cruelly broke his heart and family. Chickens have finally come home to roost  for her.

Sorry not Shou but Zeng Heng (ZH) and Royal Princess.(RP) . ZH , if you are already in epi2.was the superior of ML,the one who wrote long lists of rules and regulations for him to follow.

Many have commented out of character, but many have also seen ZWY's acting was great. Some writers at times will divert to give a chance to focus on something.

Next will be Zhou's diplomatic skills o n how to say “No” to unreasonable requests and on honoring one's words? It was a win-win for RP and she was also an unfavorite. She backed him so that she also rose up. He has paid his debt and unknowly with double losses too for his wife was killed and 1 of his sons was branded a jinx so as to keep her power. Time to calculate gains and losses is coming.

A witness protection program for the 2 kids , against who and for what? Covert operation of a secret weapon? A rigamarole of CIA and FBI – like agencies , each operating without knowing each other's missions? A rogue agency? International syndicate? Agent came into the country to kidnap or to protect ? Weak spots in immigration/registration dept. which is known to its common citizens? Serious loopholes in national security if it cannot verify identification of every citizen and foreigners' entries and exits. Clues dropped.
-In epi.1 , professionnel personnel and sophisticated high tech. involvement in 1 large scale combined operation to kill 1 kidnapper.
-In the domestic violence case , a facade of a marriage, an illusion fostered to his love-sick lover and combination of lover and husband to trigger a common nail into an inferno.

Hope it's the emperor who killed that traitorous son and not ML..

-FL's mission to save family and herself is ½ done with 2 saved.

-ZWY based on his picking dramas with connections. It could be :- A) he is an optimistic,warm and caring person for giving feel good as RON from LYF was a HE closure and this drama to AYTO . B) has good business sense to make repeat customers/viewers happy and to make new ones! C) A) and B) !

You are right that many of us tend to compare as we have lives to live apart from watching dramas. Time constraint makes us prone to use our own criterias and standards as many of us are already multitasking and don't have too much leisure time.
I see your POV. For me,the reasonings came from visual clues dropped, acting and analysingML and situations.
-He's immature, impulsive.hot-headed,clever but not wise,and arrogantly thinking he's royal and bright enough to out-smart any body. From1st epi.saw him back to the capital from his supposed exile to kill an official who had killed his mentor.( Shen is his contrast. Audience scene with emperor saw him calmly and diplomatically stating facts on reasons he stepped out of line. He's mature and methodical with an analytical mind and legal prowess to counterattack any evidences and statements with aplomb.). ML fell in love at 1st sight with a woman he was investigating. (Compare AYTO with same premises but different hairstyles. Tight bun at top- self discipline and mature. Here its's pony-tai style - boyish and devil-may-care.- ZWY has given tips! 1 reason I respect and admire him is choosing scripts with connections). He gave her the benefit of the doubt and made his feelings top priority over duty. Typical of cheeky, royal brat! ZWY portrayed him so charmly convincingly!

Thanks. The YT link helped me to understand what you are getting at. The dramas you named , I have not watch, as not to my taste, except Blossom. Plot is very important to me because if it's not interesting ,I don't watch them even if they are popular.

Could you give some examples of dramsa that give good "voice"/lightning. etc ...? Like to learn!

Drama is not confusing and also as a non-novel reader,visually ,drama is dropping clues that said 1000 words.

-FL was the only 1 reborn. Clues from acting and hair-styles. From the flashback,FL has braids and ML has bangs with flowing hair which made both look youthful. Now, FL always has top bun and acting more mature,( like a noona romance), fusion of “old” soul with present soul. Contrast to Ml still youth with hair in short ponytail ,and ZWY acted more boyish and goofy, especially seen in the bedside scene with FL and 2ML.

-FL hazy recollection of NanWu which she can't recall of what role with the tattoo. In the past timeline, she was like an orphan pushed out of her homeland. But now, her 1st priority is to save her family.Tattoo is treason.

-Fate is like a river, ML met FL and Princess there.Events that were fated will happen but what can change is the end result just like ML predicted where to find brother based on flow rate and course. Next is father's turn.
