Also, some actresses packaged themselves with a big plus-Acting, visual + DISTINCTIVE VOICE Director's pick of RM as FL was most probably this advantage.Pity the writer wasted this advantage! He should have hammered this fact repeatedly when the villain was searching for the FL. He relied on recognizing her distinctive voice for the time he met her was when he had blurred vision.

Another slipped up from the PR or Marketing team was poor timing,planning and stragety.It was ZWY's back to back dramas after that popular LYF ,so this drama should have been aired instead of AYTO. There is a reason why this drama highlighted words of “THIRD BROTHER " (FL persistence in calling ML that even though she knew he was not her brother) and “MEI MEI" throughout the whole drama till the end,still the PR /Marketing team didn't get it??! I Study how to ride on crescent waves from a hit drama to capitalize and get what savvy political election strategists lcall “Sympathy Votes”. Furthermore,I recommend they also should read and utilize success seekers' reference book “ The Law of Attraction”. !

LSY is the epitome of a just,respected,gentleman scholar official in ancient time, Love ZWY's portrayal of him.

Read some of the comments. You will find some got caught in the production's trap of SML syndrome!! ! You, sunshine 75 and me saw thru. that!!LOL!!! I(Production team here is more sly and smarter than TRP who gave special OST only for SML and overkill of more screen time!!!) It was also t he acting of CS ,and like you , would like him to get out playing villian in his next drama.

Agreed ZWY played the best character here. That popular LYF, the FL was not my fave and knew ZWY's character was not the end game.(Another reason why I respect himfor taking that controversial role). The beginning epi of the childhood period where the child actors impressed me with their passions that I knew will give me conflicting emotions if I contiued.
I felt pity for ZWY when I read some comments here that some of his scenes were edited out and given to 2nd couple and SML Totally unfair if true.

On the contrary,I have increased my respect for him!! For seeing so many having SML syndrome because the director picked CS, an actor who fitted the Harlequin romance type of “tall. dark and handsome” stranger,,ZWY counteracted that effectively with his performances!!! RESPECT and ADMIRE him for that!!!

Yes, ZWY put a whole lot range of emotions raging passed his body thru. his body languages

Who put a pubescent in a position that she can easily go astray by sending her off to live away from them with only maids of similar age as companions? Her parents and grandmother, right?Shirk of parental responsibilitiesand worst was the grandmother who professed to love the granddaughter. She accidentally met the SML when she climbed over to get back her kite.She kept on visiting him to help him heal his vision and subsequently fell for him.He was a captive of his brothers so supposedly she went unchaperoned as 2 would attract attention. She knew enough of convention to use a fake name.But nobody instilled into her the dangers as she grew up without parental/adult/elders/teachers supervision and  guidance. Girls don't go to school in that era.  ML was lucky to find a 2nd father and a teacher to boot .Most commenters  are critical of her being a prey of SML.  We are smart because of teachers and parents ,right?

Could it be her past experience with SML taught her more on convention? She lived in the past with maids of similar age without adult/elder supervision and guidance. Nobody instilled in her the dangers of visiting and helping to heal a young man whom she accidentally met while getting back her kite. Granted she knew at least some convention of using a fake name but the whole time she was visiting him, there was no adult to reprimand her or warned her . Parental and the grandmother shirked of responsibilities, right ?, Unlike stepsister who had all of them at home ,hence she was not ignorance is bliss like her back then. She learned from her past mistakes and now trying to help her stepsister to avoid that.

Can we blame it of them watching too much on those minidramas revenge type where most ML are domineering and abusive?!For me, the minute,.he turned away with callous indifference when that woman told him she pushed a woman off a cliff showed both of them as cold-hearted where they treated other people's lives as ants to stamp on.
Regarding the FL's naivete and foolishness, might it be that she was living with maids without the supervision and advice of adults or elders? I'm still perplexed as to how a grandmother could permit her cherished grandchild to reside in such a villa. ?

From Qin to Tang ,upper-class gentlemen were skilled in letters and martial arts but during Song there was a shift to uplift the scholar class. If I am not mistaken the saying “Do not waste good iron making nails; do not waste good men makingsoldiers" = good boys don't become soldiers, comes from Song era? This drama is from Song.

The Qing dynasty is the easiest to remember, right?! For me, to memorise was to lock it into historical personalities who I respect after doing research on their portraits and fashion styles. For Qing, its Emperor Yongzheng, Tang -Empress Wu Zetian and Song-Judge Bao Zheng.

The Qing and Tang dynasties were very distinct. Simply remember, men's hairstyles during the Qing era were bald with pigtails at the rear, while women's fashion during the Tang era were empire dress style with ribbon at bust line with gathering loose skrt.

One major point, in my opinion, about no.1) should be that ALL cdramas MUST PASS THRU. CENSORS (that strict guardians of their citizen”s morals!!) are especially stringent when it comes to long length dramas.Therefore no way incest can pass thru.

An enjoyable,refreshing and lighter twist to the classic” Dream Of Red Chamber” blended with the “The Double”, hence pretty sure it will be HE!!! Plus the fact that ZWY with his soothing and dreamy voice, which evokes a feel good feeling , wouldn't disappoint me unlike that realist RJL's crime (stabbing) doesn't pay vibes !!! LOL!!

Yes. Unfortunately, its blocked in my country!!So if you can go to Viki, watch there !!LOL!!!

@JJJ and @AraFarah , translations were bad near the last few episodes.But the fact is that we continued as we had grasped the hints that words and actions have double/hidden meanings and individuals would be donning "masks" Rewatch when Viki has done it !! LOL!

Enlightening. When the drama's title was changed to have the word “Nirvana” in its, which means end of desires and sufferings as desires blinded and begets sufferings to oneself and others. Applied Buddhist mindset and as expected many people in the drama used the Bodhisattva tech. of benefiting others. Appreciated and understood a lot of things. MDL please list the screen-writers ? THANK YOU.

Tough and painful decision. Lost the people who loved and supported him to protect people who hated and wouldn't forgave him. Appreciated drama's way for preparing viewers for any type of ending.
