From the epi. that he told SM that their mother was ill for 1/12 and it was so serious that the empress even came for a visit and ordered an imperial physician to attend to her. Knew she wouldn't turn bad as she had endured her mother's brainwashing for so many years! She didn't have her mother's big ego for people like that who think the world owes them and they have the right to take anything. She was simple,generous and had no ambition to strive for status,money and power just wanted to live in harmony with everyone. She was a contrast to everyone around her. Read some comments that DM 's character was altered. Increase my respect for the script-writer,for that's what adaptation should be- make it better. To contrast the1st couple who were the strong types, who grew stronger together, on the other hand the 2nd couple were the weak types , who grew strong because of each other. Everyone's fates are co-dependent on others. 2nd couple grew strong to marry each other against the odds because they were each other's support. Too late for the husband to realize that without his support, she fell.

From the synopsis, there that dig on many Chinese who like to eat exotic animals.(pre-covid, was also a meat-eater of the common kind).After watching a few epi., the FL i n the short stories.was more like a problem-solver, diffusing dilemmas between humans and beasts From the comments,cgi was an issue. Not bad for a 5 year old drama. Another was the ML bad wig. He was supposed to be in hiding and has to blend well with nondescript and an ordinary guy look which I find does not hide his handsome features! Importantly the main leads' visuals and acting are good and they have chemistry. Don't be deterred by some comments and low ratings. Drama is not 1 dimensional as can be seen from 1st story. It can be to some : -Humans eat animals so animals can eat humans. Or -Spare the rod(wife being too acacquiescence),spoil the child(husband increased his greediness.)Who is at fault? Or -Love means forgiveness and acceptance of warts and flaws. Or -One always has to curb the bad side before it overcome the good side. Or -Man always shifts the blame of man-made problems to Nature.
Appreciated that drama is dropping hints of HE! Theme is changing your fate. Trials and tribulations will still come your way as the river of fate runs its course., as you are co-dependant on others for your fate.. You changed, others didn't. What can change is to strengthen response with empowering skills and means which can power through the outcome that you desired.
Liked the writer's concept of female centric drama and female empowerment was that the FL retained her memories while ML didn't for she would change their bad fate of hopelessly struck with parasites that sucked out their usefulness and then got rid of them.
Also have enjoyed the director's previous work.Wishing him success for he is on the right track of using “Blossom”, as that tag on all dramas with that word on their titles were a success. I think he is utilizing the Law of Attraction.(Nutshell - ..”like attractss like”a nd it is a link to the universe. .Simply put, if always doing BE is like jinxing oneself as bad things are always easy to attract.)
Deeply intriguing, absorbing and engaging spy drama , one of the best for it explores the theme of why one wants to be a spy. Many did it for their love of country. Some for ego trip of superiority and a license to kill. Some for love of the opposite sex; the honey trap.For the latter, deeply lurking within their hearts will be the times of deep regret for choosing that ignoble path of no return unlike Minister Yang who has no such terrifying prospects.. For that weakness will be exploited fully in emotional blackmail to be a turncoat shown implicitly by the drawing of a mother with 2 kids and implied from that conversation with 2FL. Besides explicitly from that editor who was blackmailed with threats to the daughter.I Also implied warning and orders also to FL not to have any room for emotions and not to trust anybody. I watched till epi.3, and it's heavy with workplace woes. I had worked under difficult bosses before, the FL situation can't improve unless she transfer to another section or work in another company. Manager Hu was to blame for giving that exploiter the chance to meet the chairman.She could have just walk alone with a file of her team and explained that since its an unexpected meeting her team were out doing follow-up ground work and gave credit to deserving names on that list.. That will also show she knew each staff's capabilities. FL grievances are valid as it will affect the morale and work attitude of the team; the manager's vision was not far sighted.

In some dramas, its becomes 1 dimensional if one only see 1 side. Viewers take it at face value and don'tgo beyond it to enjoy 2 sides! As I said in my comment down below ts a closure for ZWY's CX from LYF. Its like savouring 2 dramas at same time!
This drama has dual motives( Thank-you Director for executing it with finess)Director was smart, very sly and very,very subtle! Also trust judgements of ZWY and RM in choosing good scripts.
Director was handling 2 forbidden love stories. Between brother(ML) with sister(FL) and pubescent(FL) with young adult(SML) Ml and FL love stories was quickly resolved as they were”fake siblings”. However the other taboo was,not ,even though FL grew up and grew out of love for SML as he still stucked in the past.Hence he die but his death has to reflect the tragic and poignancy of CX who can never tell his beloved MeiMei,and the world of his love for her in this lifetime. He Lost the FL but as he was facing FL , his last thought and speech was You,MeiMei, so Forever in this moment and this lifetime he was with with his beloved. Seen in this context this drama becomes a sophicated,sublimal subtetly and enhance the understanding of the so very protracted “fake siblingS” arc!
This uniquely 2 in 1 quality is a rare treat, therefore the rating should be higher.

Depending on your tastes, preferences, and expectations. I don't expect much romance because I knew the main leads breakthrough roles were from serious dramas; if they have chemistry, its fine For me its very good and I have fun engaging in spotting their covertly romantic gestures!
