My take on grandmother is like old era Dowager Empress and SB as Empress.
The Rong family type of administration is like that. Grandmother was not an educator for she expected SB to be like an Empress with ability and capability to control the harem consisting of concubines, her sisters, in managing the tea plantation. Dowager Empress was the top pinnacle as even an emperor has to obey her by law of filial piety. Grandmother was like that strong power behind the throne type of Empress Dowager Cixi of Qing dynasty. Hence I can understand her behavior, but LJL, suddenly not that quick witted and decisive to march into the ancestral hall, took SB's hands and make her bowed together the 3 bows to formalize being wedded, then told her he had something to do and left. Quick and simple solution instead of leaving her humiliated at the altar.

For hist. fan, this drama is a feast. When SB boldly choose LJL as her consort instead of going into wedding chamber of that Yang groom, it's the bold and unconventional strong personality of Elizabeth I of England, Gloriana. Elizabethan era ,as England emerged as world power and the golden age of poets ( Shakespeare, etc.), sea adventurers (discovery of America) and statesmen. Blind sister is like Elizabeth I 's sister, Mary I, as both had bitter background. Mary I, was abandoned when her father, Henry VIII divorced her Spanish mother to marry English wives for English blood to the throne. And 2nd sister is like Mary ,Queen of Scots, cousin to Elizabeth I, who beheaded her after many attempts to take her throne But karma has a way of repaying that when Mary's son , became James I of England when Elizabeth I died childless.

My hypothesis - they are 1/2 siblings with different fathers. This dr. has inner longings, LY for GF, and WGH for OM. That scene when WGH gave compensated/death money for killing her dead lover, she rejected him and left the room to escape him by saying Mr. Wang was waiting for her. Lady in red painting in his house is OM.Somehow HY discovered this maybe had a fight, fell ,was crippled and miscarriage her child hence her bitter hatred revenge against WGH now that the children are now grown up to know their past..WGH forced OM and she maybe died giving birth to FF.

Nothing new as all those things were exposed when KW, LH and ZT from EXO  broke their contracts.Nothing is Impossible  to Those that Will  Try for ,  every effort  counts, money and sacrifrices have to be made.  Actors  like SWL and ZWY  also sued and cancelled their contracts. For YML his sacrifices were very tough as he lacked money power and his fatal mistake was signing to a pimping agency=prostitution . Likely he realized that when he refused investor proposals and then got sidelined to a small budget dr. hence   began a vicious cycle of lack of money. . Likely  he was  burdened  , scared and anxious with no true friend to trust to tell of his fears, worries and problems. And the longer he stayed  the more he gained some knowledge of money laundry,and  that his boss is like the Mafia hence critical to leave and major sacrifices to be made as he has to leave his career and  flee with his mother to other provinces which require lots of money.  Because  of lack of money, many things can't be resolved.. I don't know if those that successfully broke free have true friends that encourage and support them but YML had not.


What we can do now is get some measure with our own hands ,  JUSTICE for him by  NOT REWATCHING that drama. I  don't know whether if the drama is sold to Neflix and other TV stations the  cast can get some sort of dividend like money? But  for sure , the cast can get Bigger pay for next projects. Many people are waiting for Amnesty Int. to go in China ,get evidence and then prosecute themselves?? The authorities are Double Faced and the other side of the face is the "Mafia"

I access his character  not thru. blind sentiments/loyalty but thru his actions he has done . He always thought of others 1st. The fact that he donated 1/2 M to Henan flood victims proves that as he could have saved and hire top lawyers  to break his contract. Any AI or any click bait videos wouldn't break my picture of him as  heroic for keeping true to his principles.

Analyze situations and ppl. to act accordingly. 1st  he was the Victim and was Forced. I don't blame  such victims, rather felt disgusted and outraged at the perpetrators. He was just unlucky to sign to a pimping agency  which was also doing money laundry = activities of the Underworld. How can he easily escape  such Roque officials  operating in the concept of the underworld? 2ndly highly likely  that  he was threatened with harm to his mother and family for they were ppl. with money, power and authority. He was very filial. A poor country boy who went to the big city to work to earn money to buy a house for her. He was naïve , very scared and did not any true friend to help or give him advice, hence he endured the  pains and sufferings. 3rdly he never was manipulative   or be the bait or persuaded  anybody to follow their demands. The harm was to himself  alone never others. He always thought of others 1st.  He was SELFLESS and HEROIC.

Don't read  the novel ,must be the scriptwriter take on the 3 leaders of hunter teams on how  they regarded their jobs..For JL it's with resentment  and wanted out as for her it took away her parents and left her an orphan.  She's not the typical revengeful daughter type , total opposite she  just wanted a normal and quiet  life as an artist. For X, his 1st priority is his members, he's not the idealist type of saving the world from the fiends. At that time they were under attack and  Hua was injured and he placed more importance on safety of his members than ST. ST to him was like collateral damage and he don't felt the guilty conscience like JL of him becoming a victim of the fiends. For XS, it's a chance to get another fiend to tame to become like  a 2nd Locust. He wants to be like a commander with 2 powerful assistants as his skills as smelling out the fiends was made redundant with their evolution. He felt inferior to the 2 girls leaders .To revert back ST to human is to show responsibility and commitment of a leader. Thus far, LXR has that. She is the leader of underground species for  she has  made it her responsibility and commitment to made them have a life up above ground under the fearful sun and to do that she needed  humans as  transformation.

The way I see  it is that since childhood XS always aims to be the next leader. Did research and found out  that the  bigger agency paid  her old agency 400M.Why 400M when China's economy is experiencing slowdown ? Was it because of the penalty fee to cancel  her old contract + Another Penalty Fee ? Dec. 2024, her contract was going to end but she quit 1/2 way through her drama "Almost Lover". Hospitalised on 18/12/24 with depression related mental issues. But she didn't go back to finish it as she didn't like the director instead started a new VT show on 27/3/25.Business contracts have penalty fees for incomplete deals and for drama likely 2-3x of cost ,eg. cost 100M,penalty fee 200M-300M. Likely she signed back and the agency paid for her But NOT in the PRESENCE of HER LAWYER. Mental issue is already self-defense in court. Agency in a bind when she wanted to end as, if  that  Big Mistake came out , it would look as incompetent , gross mismanagement and foolish  to shareholders and investors.

Also she is heartless and selfish in not completing AL  as dr. that don't air ,everyone get only 1/2 pay.She's top bill  and top rank likely 20M-30M and 1/2 pay to her is okay but to low wage workers having families to feed it's hardship. No, I don't have same mind as yours on the contary, from the very beginning when she started off with saying her agency changed  her date of contract so that 's why  she can't leave.She's lying. Any taxpayer  who yearly submit tax forms , will know that any change or new contract , copies have to be sent to the Tax Dept. Or maybe they were waiting for Amnesty International, as there were many calls to sign the Avaaz petition. Can they go into China and fight the police to get evidence?
