I would say that as much as it’s allowed for a Cdrama this is as close to implied GL that’s possible regards to censorship. It’s clear there’s chemistry and feelings between lady in red and sheriff but it can’t been explored to it’s fullest unfortunately!
This is the kind of movie that’s a 7/10 decent entertainment and good fun on a Tuesday night for 95% of the movie then.. FL barely reacts when her sister for thousands of years dies but she’s destroyed when the ML she’s known for a week dies and she gives up all her 9 tails and thousand of years of cultivation for a small chance to bring back the ML… NOT HER F-ING SISTER AND FAMILY THATS BEEN WITH HER FOREVER…

Why did the ML always have to mysteriously disappear everytime he’s injured.. That’s never explained like thr guy that always saves him why must he be cryptic, obviously ML was alive all the time so why was he hidden and only came back like months later looking like he was on a business trip with a briefcase.. Like it made no sense he disappeared again!?
Overall really liked it though! Ma Shihan is becoming one of my new favorite mini drama actors, he was great in Protect My King, Eternal Lovesickness and he was the best out of everyone in Jade’s Fateful Love even though he was like 3ML he was best.
If the purpose of this drama was to make me feel things.. Then yeah mission accomplished.. I’m a bit broken after this one..

And I’m sorry for my language now but this all shockingly happened and it made me sick… It was at times just as disturbing as like watching some early 2000’s American gore horror like Texas Chainsaw Massacre or Saw except showing actual gore but just as vividly horrifying.. Just senseless abuse from a psychopath.
Like my god after ML killed the 2ML only to drag the crying FL away from his corpse to his bedroom to rape her while 2ML’s body literally was outside hardly stiff and cold yet and whispering like ”don’t worry I’ll be gentle” as she was crying and fighting back... I wanted to throw up… Then when he found out she got pregnant from the rape he was overjoyed and giggling and looking frantically insane like Pennywise the clown from IT while crying happy tears of joy over his sick achievement.. Meanwhile as she was sitting there a literal dead shell apathetic just emotionally destroyed and just human corpse with her soul having left her body.. So he psycho flipped and got angry and abused her for not being happy she got pregnant from his rape… I mean guys and girls this is one of the sickest fetishized torture porn I’ve ever seen in all of Cdrama…

Or at least they can’t have anything but vague open endings but here we clearly have them with their kid so was strange.
Sooo after 24 episodes… Can anyone tell me when ML and FL have any chemistry at all? Please tell me… Like her last letter to him it didn’t grip me at all like it felt so fake… I saw and felt all the hatred and disgust she talked about and the flashbacks showed that as well but that she ever actually loved ML I never for a second felt not even once… She always had this disgust and blank eyes when with ML, there wasn’t a single frame of what felt like genuine warm feelings for him… Also he constantly manhandled her and tried to sexually assault her, choke her and cross borders for at least the first like 16 episodes as well which didn’t help the feelings of love or romance…
So ending felt so bad like that her last breath was wasted on reaching for ML instead of what all her other actions and state of mind was that she would have reached out for her family and all the dead because that was the only feelings she had left. Ending should have been the gates opening and her reuniting wih her dead family, that was the only logical ending according to every single frame untill then…
Also she had more chemistry with that bird that was spamming her name in like episode 9 then with ML for the rest of the 23 episodes.
I’m actually so sad to say this since I’m so happy to see Zhao Jia Min as FL she was 10/10 acting and I could really feel her hate and utter despair throughout… But so illogical and implausible ending and ”love story”…
