also xiao ran should be the main fl
Xiao Ran is in reality the actual main FL, that’s the reveal in like episode 20 or when it was when ML realized he actually was in love with Xiao Ran after getting poisoned.

No matter how much screen time he has with all the other girls it’s mostly playful but he actually decides to lie and distance himself from Xiao Ran realizing she would get poisoned as well.

He also likes constantly reflects about their relationship every time they meet and she does something for him he is like thinking “if she keeps saying and doing this like this I will…” but never finishes the sentence. But as we saw in the end what he meant was he would fall in love. Xiao Ran is also like the only person he wanted to show up at last fight before his ascension and she finally did.

My guess is as show ends on “stay tuned for more” the plan if it ever happens is like having Xiao Ran either ascend as well to see him or he gets some earth tribulation and goes to find her.

Either way Xiao Ran is the only one he romantically loves and she loves him as proven by the love fruit.

you're right, makes sense. in the beginning Seol said she was struggling with depression and she found hope in…
Ask away if you have any more questions and I’ll take time and answer tomorrow, as I said I’ve watched it twice and I’ve studied in film school so I’m used too breaking down movies and having too look for the ”hidden” parts. There’s a lot of decisions made by the director in terms of the ”silent storytelling” or what you call symbolism, choices of tone, style and cinematography.

There’s a lot said even when there’s no dialogue, modern movies especially indie movies where writers and directors have more complete control of the vision and storytelling. Every scene, every shot, every angle, even color grading or stylation can change from one scene to another. Sometimes just shifting from warm colors to cold can be a tell.

There is a lot of tells just going by color grading and tone that director uses for instance let us know we are now in Su An’s subconscious/fantasy/dream world. If people want to know thar Seol is dead then pay attention, there’s a tone shift sometime in the movie and then basically every scene afterwards now has a feeling of it being -30 degrees. Like you almost freeze through the screen it looks just.. Everything is just hazy and blueish and feels cold to the bone, it’s trying to hint at something. Seol metaphorically is in purgatory/world between worlds/heavens gate, call it what you want depending on your beliefs.. She is a ghost/spiritual guide/projection/memory/life force, again call it what you want but she’s not longer alive except in Su An’s subconscious/fantasy and what do we associate with dead people? Death is cold.

I guess you have as like 90% of people alive seen Sixth Sense.. If not spoiler ahead but the tell that the main character is dead is everyone starts to shiver and breathes out cold air when he’s close right.. The boy’s mom multiple times like comment on being cold as well as the boy.

Everything is cold, bleak, unfriendly, melancholy, depressing around Seol because she is actually dead and the last space Seol now occupies is just filled with ”heavy snow”. It’s also there where they meet one final time to get closure before both can move on. Seol fades away and ceases to exists because she has fullfilled her last task of getting Su An to finally be true to her self hence she just disappears in the end. Then Su An escapes back to reality as she is now ready to move forward.

Title also gave us a hint to the end all along. Heavy Snow.

Glad you enjoyed my review/explanation and also came to same conclusions!! I re-read what I had written now when I saw your answer and I realized it was a bit scatterbrained.. I wrote that review during closing credits of the movie at 4 am my time as like a coping mechanism and as a way to process the movie as it was an emotional rollercoaster with a really somber ending...

But I have rewatched it again and am even more sure of my first analysis and conclusion so I editet my first post now to correct some just word sallad and messy sentences and also hammered down on some points and fleshed out my thoughts and makes things more clear. In that I think I answered your question as well, I went the extra mile on breaking down why Seol in actuallity was heartbroken. The rejection is the outcome but the why of the rejection and the reality of knowing she will never be able to move on and she can never be with her soulmate, the one she loves and that also loves her but refuses to realize it and not trusting Seol enough to have her heart.

Read my much updated first version if you want all the context and analysis in one, I think I did a better job now that it’s not 4 am haha…

Title Who Is She!
He did notice, and he told her in a episode 10. "Who are you? I know you're not Emily". He just fell in love with…
He literally spent 10 episodes being in love with another version of Emily, dreaming back to their dates with dreamy glowing rose tinted flashbacks of their special lunches and all their interactions… Then all of a sudden he’s in love with another version and never wonders where the actual first Emily he was in love with had disappeared.. No he just fell in love with another version it’s so shallow and superficial…

The whole reason he was even there to begin with that group and went and got Emily from US and supported her, then protected her to begin with and was frantically looking for her when she disappeared was because he had a crush on her. Then realizing that version is gone and just loving someone else it’s the least romantic thing I’ve ever seen.. Just in love with the shell of the girl he liked from the beginning now swapped with a retired grumpy grandmother’s personality… So stupid.

I absolutely despised the romance aspect of this drama… Like I’m sorry but Mal Sun is this old wethered grandma with her whole life experience in her past..

She has these unspoken tragic family and life experiences and a terrible relationship with her daughter and yet she has time to fall in love with someone 50+ years her junior?

Come the fuck on seriously, she had 99 problems but like only focused on puppy love, also from Daniels perspective he had fallen in love at first with the ”original” Emily and then just didn’t notice any difference and still kept going with the replacement..

It makes love look shallow as he didn’t even realize the one he liked from the start wasn’t the same person anymore.. So I guess love is shallow, you don’t love the soul but the shell in his case..

If they would have just skipped the Daniel x Mal Sun romance I would have thoroughly enjoyed this.

And once again.. Life is about the people around you, your family and this show tells us ”abandon you daughter and granddaughter and go live some fairy tale youngsters free life with your 50 year old younger hubby and f-ck your responsibilities and family!”… Like their personalities and life experiences are universes and decades apart SHE IS A GRANDMA.. But wants to live some puppy love giggly romance thing her last time alive and not be with her family.. Horrible messaging and the least romantic drama ending I’ve seen in years.

The scene where the husband realizes something is off during sex and she admits she has been away shooting porn and having sex with a stranger hit me in the gut…

Deja vu… It felt once again like a freight train ran me over watching that because it happened to me.

My ex did not shot a porn but the other part was like 99% the same, she had been away and all of a sudden we had sex and it was passionate but just slowly creeping into to me for every second I felt something is off.. It was like she was somewhat a different person all of a sudden and it just clicked inside me that she has been unfaithful and I stopped and just looked at her and she realize I knew and she just said ”I’ve slept with someone when I was away”…

I can relate so much with the ML, my gut reaction was to like just spontaneously yell like omg omg omg I buried my head in a pillow then just.. Got up and started to walk away, I dressed and left and we broke up…

I couldn’t be mad I was just an empty shell and I felt every single frame of that scene and it made it all feel like it was yesterday…

Insanely accurate depiction of a real life situation and how you actually react..

Isn't this the exact same plot and setup as the just released "Good Luck" series https://kisskh.at/767887-shi-lai-yun-zhuan ???

"Shi Lai, an ordinary man, connected to a mysterious stone, experiences three unique romantic encounters and a twist of fate that changes his life. As he faces challenges in the enigmatic town of Gu Mie, he must find a way to turn his life around and rise to the top."

About one wild goofy jokester that has the ability to praise stones etc and is surrounded by bauties that are awed by his amazingness....

Literally the same show twice but different named characters.

For those who’ve read the webtoon Is there supposed to be any romantic undertones between Yun Ga Min and his former tutor now teacher Lee Han Gyeong?

It’s a bit unclear after 2 episodes but seeing they are ML and FL? If so I sure hope not because he’s in high school and supposedly a minor ffs and she’s a teacher, imagine role reversal and a male teacher and high school girl..

I’d sure prefer no romance because so far it’s fun!

As someone who has read the novel, I can say, Wan Peng and LYR are not support casts. They have very special roles/participation.…
That’s great if true I just reacted to them being so far down on cast list.. It felt almost like guest role spots and not listed as like #3/4/5 etc as usual important support cast after the two leads!

Replying to Shaoyaoville Jan 14, 2025
blah blah always complaining whenever the leads are actors y'all are not familiar with. I'll never understand…
I literally said I have no issues with the leads, the main question I had if I specifiy it even further was how Wan Peng especially could be like 13th support cast.

Her whole career is a strange enigma and I don’t know if you are aware that she became one of the most trending actresses after My Girlfriend is an Alien became a massive success, then especially with its second season that was THE most-viewed drama on WeTV in 2022. THE MOST-VIEWED.. So, why the sudden stop of main lead roles and now relegated to weirdly small supporting roles or super low on cast list? It makes no sense since she’s amazing.

Do I think LYR is better then Zhou Yiran. Yes I just watched Land of Warriors and he was OK but Blossom was 5 times the performance. Would I at least want LYR as 2ML yes, do I like the female Zhou Yiran more, yes, but will I watch either way, yes and am I hyped, yes because as I said it still looks good.

So calm yourself, take a breather, maybe zip a glass of red wine cozy up in front of a open fire if you have one available and just enjoy your evening :)

This drama casting makes no sense? No shade on Bao Shangen and Zhou Yiran but you have Wan Peng and Li Yun Rui as like 12-13th on cast roster.. Like huh..

Overall theme of drama looks promising though even though I rather had had Wan Peng and Li Yun Rui as leads

I read the plot on like TMDB and this sounds just really bad..

"Cha Sun Hee is a housewife and she is married to Bong Chun Dae. She has a twin sister, Cha Do Hee, who works as a flight attendant. Although they are identical twins, they have completely opposite personalities. Cha Do Hee becomes involved in a situation which leads to Cha Sun Hee pretending to be her flight attendant sister. She then meets co-pilot Song Woo Jin."

So it's just a straight up cheating/affair drama or what.. FL has a husband but she takes her sisters identity and just has a romance with some pilot like what is this..

Shouldn't this have a Affair/Cheating Wife tag then and why is everybody talking about it as some fluffy romcom if it's cheating involved.. Confused if it's worth throwing myself into 40 episodes of that.

I loved the drama up until the last 20-30 minutes, it was like easily a 9.2/10 for me but I couldn’t for the life of me understand why Choi Yi Jeon the disgusting cheating wife isn’t punished at all..

And not only is she not punished she is supported by the Audiophile trio after she was a co-conspirator to her husbands murder and subsequently the attempt to insurance fraud afterwards.. She even slept with her husbands killer and tried to elope with him and still the trio helps her financially and helps her move like what!?

Literally WHAT… She is evil up until she is almost killed and then she regrets what she did and suddenly everything is okay.. Lets forget everything she did to their best friend and lets forget she tried to obstruct justice.. Like the scene where Jang Jae Gyeong is watching old pictures on the computer of Jun Seo and his dead daughter and she is standing next to him and doesn’t feel bad for one second.. She instantly runs to Tae Jin to plan how to elope, like not batting an eye at seeing her dead husband and daughter still no conscience sleeping with his murderer…

She should have been punished as well or at least ostracized from everything for her dirty deads.

Also it made no sense that when Yun Jin finally got her money she didn’t do anything to get her daughter back but she gave some money to the ”CW” aka disgusting Cheating Wife.. Like all the morally grey things Yun Jin did, like she even tried to extort and make a deal with Tae Jin knowing he was the killer of her ex boyfriend and ex best friend only to get money to get her kid..

Yet we are never shown she even tries when she gets money, she goes and helps CW move and gives her money then goes on some beach trip with the other Audiophiles..

Like her whole reason for existence and character progression is just wiped away, like in the end her kid meant nothing I guess she was just a greedy person and it was the money she wanted and used her daughter as an excuse and justification I guess and was content just getting money..

Weird last 30 minutes to a otherwise near perfect drama that I benched in a whole day..

Title Terrorizers Spoiler
In the movie after 40 minutes there is a lesbian relationship blossoming all of a sudden. There is some scenes…
To answer your last question, she cowardly said goodbye without telling her boyfriend in the hospital and then quietly left just like her GF had did. Her ex told her she loved her they made up, had intimacy and then she escaped quietly and went either way. Now she had done the same to her boyfriend, quietly just run away to go to her ex girlfriend and leave her past/brother/father and go where’s she’s happy.

The boyfriend caught up with her and she decided at least to be honest with herself and him and she was going to be honest with him. She’s mainly lesbian and in love with her ex still and going to try and find happiness with her and it’s nothing wrong with him.

Giving him something she never got and finally she was going to be honest with herself and everyone, remember just like 10 minutes before she tried to lie to her father once again not ready to be honest that’s she’s a lesbian. But final scene she’s finally ready to be honest at least to her now ex boyfriend, she knows who she is and she’s ready to be honest about it to herself and everyone else.

It’s the cathartic ending to the movie, it was her journey to finally be able to admit she’s lesbian and she had used especially her boyfriend as a tool to heal and please her father and also used him as a cover to herself to get over her heartbreak. It was not love it was an escape.

She doesn’t care about her ex girlfriends past she loves her and she finally accepts herself.

So in the end the FL Chen Ching was the ”main protagonist” and really what we saw was a warped version of reality she had created in orde to cope with her own betrayal.

She was doing all the things to ML Chen Po Ching that she thought he did to her but she couldn’t handle the truth so warped reality.. Until finally accidentally touching that dirty broom and realizing she bo longer had OCD and her fiction broke and she remembered she was the one cured and had abandoned poor ML not the other eay around.

Title Suffocating Love Spoiler
The girl had long black hair and Lin Ai Hsuan had shorter hair and also brunette so it not her and since it was…
It was something Ai-Hsuan said during basically their first date that kinda told us he would never had been happy with her and she would never have had been happy with ML.

She described her relationship and it was basically perfection and ML even thought to himself like "why is she complaining I would have loved to have a relationship like that" but she was bored. There was literally nothing wrong with her fiancée but she was willing to throw 7 years away because of boredom. She would have spent another 7 years with ML and realized she was bored again, she just wasn't fit for "regular" relationship and neither was ML.

That's most likely what that part would have showed us between Pai Chia Chi and Yuri, a timeline where he and Ai-Hsuan slowly just fizzled away during 7 years and finally both bored and not in love, but that isn't that exciting to watch.

In the end the only time we see him fall in love with a person for them being a person, where he's actually interested in their personality, where he's litterally drooling and zones out just watching her speak is with Pai Chia Chi.

There's a lot of stylistic cinematography choices that highlights the differences in all his relationships. As I said we see time literally stops for him being with Pai Chia Chi, he's intrigued, he buys books just as an excuse to meet her and she shines whenever he watches her.

Ai-Hsuan is an escape from his self made prison but he never looks at her like that, all their shots together are somber settings, by the river and Ai-Hsuan often teary eyed or emotional and overall setting is gloomy. She's an escape for him not love.

Yuri we see is his "fantasy dream girl" and that is purely sexually driven, it's not love it's fictional sexual attraction and a fantasy girl. We realize this early as he looks at her social media like a regular fan and dreaming of basically "bang her" it's not "lets marry this girl".

With Pai Chia Chi it's the only time we see him actually in love and it's only with her he's shown as geniuly smiling during the movie in parts. In the beginning he's smiling like someone on cloud 9 everytime they are together and even seeing her at the car dealership his subconcious reaction is hapy and smiling before realizing the reality.

Then in the end he sheads a tear realizing it, all he had to do was to communicate and things would have been alright.

The girl had long black hair and Lin Ai Hsuan had shorter hair and also brunette so it not her and since it was…
I think there was supposed to be a mini drama from the beginning or a 3-act movie with another 40 minutes so a 2,5 hour run time with an extra timeline after Pai Chia Chi with Ai-Hsuan before Yuri that got cut.

It would make the most sense since he was in a relationship with Ai-Hsuan and when getting a chance to chose a new life he would have woken up to be with her obviously before Yuri.

Unfortunately Ai-Hsuan was to bland IMO and I don't think they had a good enough act/timeline/script to fill out the time where we finally see the ML once again realizing "oh this is not working as well" before then getting a chance with finally Yuri.

So that's the part that got cut out, a seperate timeline being with Ai-Hsuan.

It would have made the movie come full circle, he starting with Pai Chia Chi not satisfied then venturing to Ai-Hsuan before realizing grass wasn't greener to then try Yuri to finally in the end realize he wanted Pai Chia Chi all along and she was the right one for him. He just never communicated with her and realized to late she was willing to change for him as well as he had changed for her.

But it was all to late
