Actually quite a lot of chinese mythology is also influenced by Indian stories , people don't realise it because the transition happend in late bc and early ADs, when many philosophers and entertainers used to travel from China to India and it's actually written in original texts how few things in india inspired them ( not saying it's same relationship as in china and japan etc, but in terms of philosophical especially the mystical elements quite a lot has been taken from Indian contexts and then molded into chinese traditions , it hard to see tht from neutral perspective cz again people don't know about Indian mythology and the period when all this happened was like 1500-1600 years ago, it has deviated a lot from original inspirations.

I mean it has romance but not from the start, it's has more profound meaning and is more focused on the story ( which rarely happens in cdrama land), I mean if you just watch starting ost and how things are going this will get converted into a full fledged romance later on, but unlike others it's not romance because it needs to be rather there is a strong storyline with mystery which will have a romance in it .

I mean idk how you didn't understand this , first- they are supposed to be mortals with divine power so "glass cannon" that doesn't make them weak lol rather easier to kill. Second - originally the token was supposed to be owned by great demon and goddess half and half hence supporting the above belief that demon is supposed to be the vanguard while godess the glass cannot behind him . It's pretty straightforward if you think about it, if it's 1v1 upfront fight she might be able to hold down any demon ( not necessarily kill but seal them) but because she is mortal she can't defend against unknown attacks.

She is human and will remain human, idk what these people are smoking but its repeatedly mentioned that goddess is a human that can use divine powers with tht token, they even say that to previous goddess that you are mortal and how dare you get in the demon's business or something like this

It went down yesterday actually when the arc that took all of episode 6 for no reason started

80% of tht episode was slow motion about 2 people who had been already introduced and their story doesnt impact anyhting in the main story, the only reveal which was completely obvious since the start took the rest 20%, so from a story pov nothing major happened in 6 and 7, not saying show has gone bad just saying 6 and 7 were literally repeating slow mo and bgms for the most part

I can understand the ratings going down, since episode 6 and 7 seemed lackluster compared to the start , 7 was still better 6 was complete slow mo mode shoots with no actual progression in the story along with bgm which was used nicely in first few episodes while in the latest ones just kept switching on in almost every moment :D. 2 episodes don't decide how good and bad it will be but how this shitty mdl algo works ( although no one knows how), it will take a banger to get it back to 8.7 or above from here on.

While I agree most of the shows follow this theme and maybe heading could have been better worded, but FL character has too many issues from 11 to 20 -22, but its fine they recovered tht to some extent later on with no bs trust issues etc. Also there are shows where strong fL character don't behave like entitled character for ex. SOKP, even long ballad was fine to some extent.

I will never under stand how this rose to 8.1 with that kind of draggy as hell last 10 episodes, I mean other than the 2 main leads it's really hard to enjoy any characters from this show, and the story with so much build up turned out to be less than average . That was a forced plot inaction at the end they never needed to do anyhting so extreme to catch the villains lmao, I guess show wanted to create angst or whatever and failed miserably with it's sub par plot

I mean IDK why you think its not fine, because biologically its all fine, unless they are related genetically and that too close lineage. Again, if they were any way related, I would have understand, people should stop applying current gen mind into something that's supposed to be 100+ years back (even though even in current world this is fine) . But yes you are entitled to your views and have a right to stop watching if it creeps you out.

It's criminal how this show still has 7.8 rating lol, I mean this shows key weakness is it's budget which seemed to have led to budget cuts with editing,cgi etc. Else thr story itself seems solid and could have sustained lot more episodes. Other than the budget related issues it seems to have solid story, decent ost and acting. Other thing people here have issues with is everyone trying to kill FL, but thing is here most things make logical sense there is no over and above non sense things happening. Most character actions have realistic standpoints ( from a cdrama lens xd). Earlier people were targeting (not killing)FL to take advantage of her to force the ML etc. When thr whole islander picture comes in place it's basically superhuman syndrome that is actually quite realistic , for them she is sorta superhuman that they want to either kill or exploit which is what will happen if an alien lands on earth xd and this trope is used everywhere. One thing that I really like is they seem to moving towards nailing the whole "travel back to ancient times" trope , considering how FL actions have been ( excpet few weird ones which are quite common with cdramas)+ how they have molded the story into connecting both ml and FL with possible islander situation and hopefully they will further connect it correctly with return back as well.

I mean if this FL is strong character, then I guess everyone is strong now:D
