Let me put it, in easy words - fun, illogical guilty pleasure! Fast Food entertainment that is engaging but when you move above your hormones you will realize that its empty (lacks substance and depth, but you have to praise the director other than the camera angles everything was spot on till like 30-32 episodes) drama with shit last 3-4 episodes. Again, not saying drama is bad, just rating is too overhyped led by "feel good" element of the show, here's one thing for you to think - the premise of the show was to prove her innocence, that never happened lol, a guilty pleasure (and the ratings) doesn't mean show is as spectacular as you believe. And no offense but none of the actors here are traffic actors (so no actual hate ratings here, that most of the better overhyped shows have) as you believe (and hence the acclaim it is getting ). Also, it's not about bad ending or anything there were things especially in last few episodes that were literal nonsense, character depth other than the leads were inconsistent and lacking, not to mention an average story but again that's only clear if you move above hormones.

only God knows how this is 8.9 lol, I mean it's could have been 8.4ish ( without those last 3-4 episodes, especially the last one) but man oh man mdl strikes hyping an average show with no sense ending ( and lead up to it), The show turned from switch off your brain and watch and you will like it to, forget you have brain and keep believing it was really good to make up for all the loopholes, no sense things happening. I mean this should be at max around 8.1-8.2 lol. Yes, it was entertaining (well at least till 30ish episode) and I don't mind loopholes or average acting in some cases, but for complete 40 episodes it's just a show you won't regret watching nothing spectacular here with a typical no sense last cdrama episode.

Reasons why this is what it is:
1. Overcompensation by people as this started as underrated drama and people were surprised that it turned out to be good
2. No big traffic actor so no hate ratings
3. A feel-good drama with no angst or scenario where main leads can fail or be wrong
4. Lack of good cdramas in 2024

it's already overhyped lol, it's a good show but people keep throwing it like it is one-off the best show, which any person who doesn't switch off his brain will realise it isn't. Again I liked the show and it's entertaining but its nothing special like a raring of 8.9 will tell you. No wonder it got average rating in china too

You must be non native english speaker, since there is an implication that the show is bad( according to my opinion), it's not saying that because I think show is bad you shouldn't watch it. But it's fine no reason to get offended if someone doesn't like the show, chill!

hope this isn't a reply to mine cz that was a honest review of what this show is. A good entertainment watch but nothing outstanding. And coming to actors part , I don't think this one is so highly rated bcz of one individual actor here rather I feel the raring is getting overcompensated because there is no traffic actor here and people were not expecting a lot from this, so once this turned out to be good rating just went in overhyped mode, 8.9 is mostly for a show that blows people mind not a good entertaining watch ( this is also subjective since I can see why someone won't like it as well)

this is too highly rated for high good this is , I guess emotions overflowing there were multiple issues but good entertainment, this should be like 8.2 to 8.4 something considering how other shows are rated.Basically a sort of feel good drama that is overrated to overcompensate for low popularity of actors and drama before launch.(opp happens in high traffic dramas with overhyped launches)

more like smart ml lol, idk where you found fl smart uptill now , again I myself find this interesting ( other than the filler episode like last one).It has faults but yeah in cdrama world they are pretty common

idk, why people didn't like this.Maybe as people have said they seem to have added content after airing , but this is definitely an 8+ show by cdrama standard, yes there are missing/skipped scenes which will smooth the whole story from start to end, but other than that it hits all the right chords.No bitchy character, good background music, decent story( better than most copy paste dramas) , good acting especially PXR and decent production ( definitely low budget though). Definitely worth a watch with no draggy shit like many other cdramas.

Btw, does anyone think that 2nd ml fucked their 2nd life more than it could have been ( trying her to remember the past , constant nagging to leave etc)? Because uphill his appearance it has same elements of unwanted marriage shown in other cdramas

I expected it to be, but somehow except fl dumb moments ( it's like now a part of cdramas) , everything else isn't angsty( turned out to be way better than I expected it to be)

maybe try rewatching and you will understand better , he didn't change its called character development , not 1 dimensional character and he nvr gave up on anyone like his father , his logic was I am dying so better use the time remaining to help the world and his closed ones.

you definitely won't regret watching this, really good execution of decent story. Liking main pair depends from person to person, but overall really good story and execution rare for a chinese drama. Even side pairs made sense and were just not their to fill places.

This is the most apt description of this show an utter disappointment on how it was executed.

A potentially great show ruined by execution and to some bit weak acting. Overall, you won't regret watching it especially with the music track that hits at right moment, but this still leaves you with a little bit of "meh" taste. ( especially 20-35ish episodes, and character inconsistency towards the end and tht kiddish way to try to close things)

I mean this one might be one of those dramas that had a great core story, possibly ( if they were executed well) great twists, and good soundtrack. This drama suffers from one things " execution" , the execution is so bad that suddenly at the end even characters start becoming inconsistent ( and somehow ml is claimed to have done wrong things without doing any) . This shows a good show can only be as good as it's director.( could be writter as well but then again this seems more like director didn't know what he was doing)
