Love Is Definitely Better the Second Time Around, The Married Couple Energy Is EVERYTHING

I absolutely loved Season 1, so when Season 2 was announced, I was honestly so excited. What I love most about the first episode is that we do not get another fresh start where Miyata and Iwanaga are still figuring out their relationship. They are already two years into their relationship and living together, and I absolutely loved that decision.

There is something so satisfying about seeing a couple who has already made it through the beginning stages of their relationship and is now simply enjoying life together. They live together, cook together, cuddle, and their house is filled with couple photos and little reminders of their life together. They are so happy together that they genuinely feel like a married couple.

Honestly, their relationship is my ideal love life.

The holiday at the pool and the kissing scenes were so refreshing to watch. There was nothing overly dramatic about them. They were simply enjoying being together, and that made the moments feel even more romantic. Even something as simple as Iwanaga making freshly squeezed juice for Miyata in the morning to help with his hangover was incredibly sweet. If that is not love, then what is?

I also really loved the flashbacks to Season 1. They only lasted a couple of minutes, but it was such a nice touch because it brought back memories of what Miyata and Iwanaga went through before reaching this point. It reminded us how far their relationship has come and made seeing them living together now feel even more meaningful.

And their bed scene was so romantic. The soft kisses, their chemistry, the gentle background music and the way they looked at each other all felt incredibly mature. There was no need to make the scene overly dramatic. Their connection was enough. They genuinely feel like a couple who have been together for years and are completely comfortable loving each other.

But of course, even the strongest relationship can have problems.

When Miyata asks about Iwanaga's watch, Iwanaga reveals that it was given to him by someone special from college. His ex. Iwanaga clearly does not like talking about his past relationships, and before long, that past unexpectedly comes back into their present.

I know the ex returning trope is not exactly the most original storyline, but honestly, I do not mind it here. I am actually really interested to see what happens because Miyata and Iwanaga have built such a beautiful and stable relationship. Will this make them even stronger? Will Miyata's jealousy and insecurity create cracks between them? Or will Iwanaga finally be forced to confront parts of his past that he has been avoiding?

That is what makes me excited for the rest of the season.

One thing I continue to love about Japanese BL is how mature and realistic the storytelling can feel. There are no unnecessary cringe sound effects or exaggerated reactions. The romance feels natural, the conversations feel believable, and the characters are allowed to behave like real adults in a real relationship.

Episode 1 was honestly so special and emotional for me. Watching Miyata and Iwanaga living together, caring for each other, cuddling, kissing, cooking together and simply enjoying their everyday life made me genuinely happy.

At the same time, I cannot lie, I was also a little jealous and envious of what they have. Their relationship represents exactly what I want in a relationship. To come home to someone you love, live together, take care of each other, share ordinary moments and still have that tenderness between you after years together. That is such a beautiful thing to watch.

This is already one of my favourite Japanese BLs of 2026, and if the rest of the season can maintain the same emotional depth as Episode 1, I think we are in for something really special.

A Fake Wedding, Two Chaotic Policemen & YinWar Chemistry? Police in Love Already Has Me Obsessed

YIN AND WAR ARE FINALLY BACK! The irony is that we didn’t get a proper wedding in Jack & Joker, but now we’re getting a fake wedding in this one. It feels like the director is saying, “We hurt you in Jack & Joker, so now we’re starting a new series with a fake wedding just to rub it in even more.” 😂

Yin is back as Inspector Thiartha, while War plays his junior, Police Senior Sergeant Major Mangkorn, and these two are already absolute chaos together. Episode 1 had me laughing so much. Their expressions, arguments, constantly biggering, ridiculous situations and natural chemistry reminded me exactly why I missed YinWar so much. It feels so good having one of my favourite pairs back together again.

The premise itself is completely unhinged in the best possible way. Thiartha is apparently so unlucky that his mother believes marriage is the solution. But of course, he cannot just marry anyone. His future husband needs to meet an incredibly specific set of requirements, from his birthday to even the letters in his name. And guess who somehow happens to be the perfect match? Mangkorn. What are the chances?!

So naturally, the most logical solution is for them to get married for six months and then divorce. Yes, because two handsome men pretending to be husbands, spending all their time together and living as a married couple has NEVER resulted in anyone catching feelings in a BL before. I’m sure this plan will go perfectly. Definitely no jealousy, definitely no accidental feelings and definitely no staring at each other for five seconds too long before suddenly questioning whether this marriage is actually fake anymore.

And apparently we also have ex lovers, hidden feelings and even a prophecy threatening to transfer Thiartha’s bad luck onto Mangkorn. So we are getting comedy, romance, jealousy, drama, police uniforms, fake marriage AND YinWar chemistry? SIGN ME UP.

Episode 1 was such a fun start. The music is great, the comedy genuinely made me laugh, the storyline has already caught my attention and, most importantly, YinWar are finally back together on my screen. Now I just need to watch these two idiots spend the next 11 episodes insisting that their marriage is only temporary while slowly becoming the most married couple imaginable. I already know the moment the jealousy starts kicking in, I’m going to lose it. My next 11 Saturdays are officially booked.

If you love seeing our handsome leads looking ridiculously good in police uniforms 👮‍♂️👮‍♂️, enemies turning into lovers and a fake marriage slowly becoming something very real, then Police in Love should absolutely be on your watchlist. Add in jealousy, comedy, workplace chaos and two men desperately trying to convince themselves that they are definitely NOT falling for each other, and this has all the ingredients for such a fun ride.

Give me the police uniforms, give me the jealousy, give me the fake husband chaos and give me Thiartha and Mangkorn slowly forgetting that they are supposed to divorce after six months. I came for YinWar, but I already know I’m staying to watch this fake marriage completely fall apart in the best possible way.

9.5/10. The marriage might be fake, but YinWar’s chemistry definitely isn’t. My next 11 Saturdays belong to these two chaotic policemen.

Six Gorgeous Men, One Seaside House and a Chance to Star in a BL?

Where I’m from in Australia, we have a reality show called Big Brother. I know it’s incredibly popular, but reality dating shows have never really been my thing, especially when they focus on straight couples. Then I saw Project XY appear on GagaOOLala, an all male Chinese dating reality show, and suddenly I was interested. After only ONE episode, I’m already hooked.

This is actually my first ever gay dating reality show, and I absolutely LOVE the concept. Six gorgeous men, Young, Joel, Waner, Tyler, Ch and Elio, enter a beautiful seaside house as strangers and start getting to know each other while trying to figure out who they connect with the most. But there is another exciting element to the show. This is not just about dating and chemistry. The participants also have the opportunity to potentially become part of a future Chinese BL production, either as a main or supporting pairing. A gay dating reality show that can lead into an actual BL series? WHO CAME UP WITH THIS IDEA?! Give them a raise immediately.

Apparently, a similar concept was already done with the Thai version and it worked, so now I am completely ready to see what China does with it. I watch so many Chinese BLs, but I have never watched something like this before. Instead of meeting actors for the first time when their BL begins, we get to watch these six men interact naturally, build relationships, discover their chemistry and potentially find the person they connect with before we eventually see some of them together in a drama. That makes the whole experience so much more interesting to me.

And can we talk about these SIX MEN?! Young, Joel, Waner, Tyler, Ch and Elio are all so handsome, but they also have completely different personalities. I already know I’m going to start picking favourites, changing my mind, shipping different people together and analysing every little interaction like I’m personally responsible for casting the future BL.

I also LOVE the house. The seaside setting is beautiful, the introduction immediately pulled me in and I really enjoyed watching all the activities and conversations as everyone started becoming more comfortable around each other. There is something addictive about watching six complete strangers enter the same house and slowly work out who they naturally gravitate towards.

And yes, I need to mention the kitchen. Seeing gorgeous men casually cooking together in the kitchen should NOT be this attractive, but apparently it is. 😂 Who knew watching handsome men prepare food could become one of the highlights of a dating show? Forget the fancy dates, just put all six of them back in the kitchen and let me watch the chaos.

What I’m most excited about is seeing the relationships develop naturally. Who will become close friends? Who will start flirting? Who will get jealous? Who will unexpectedly have insane chemistry? Who will become the fan favourite? And most importantly, which pairing will eventually make it into a Chinese BL? There are so many possibilities after only one episode, and that is exactly what makes this so much fun.

I went into Project XY thinking I would simply check out the first episode because I was curious. Now I’m already invested in six gorgeous men living together in a seaside house and potentially competing for a chance to enter the BL world. How did this happen so quickly?!

If you love dating reality shows, handsome men, unexpected chemistry and Chinese BL, definitely give Project XY a try. Even if you normally do not watch reality television like me, the BL element makes this completely different and much more exciting.

Six gorgeous men. One beautiful house. New friendships, possible romance, jealousy, chemistry and the chance to become our next BL couple. I cannot wait to see who connects with whom and where this whole crazy experiment takes us.
