The only thing thats wrong with Miaoyi is that there isnt a little pocket version of Miaoyi which I could put on my desk to run around and shout Rang Rang. Seriously she is doing rather well. Will have 4 dramas total this year. 2024 titles are already in the works. Just had her breakthrough moment with WIFTY had some magazine shoots... Busy girl. Im sure she is going to make it if she keeps this momentum. Oh nad she seems like a really nice girl judging from her interviews/live streams.

5. School 2013 or maybe Twenty Five Twenty One.

Hidden Love is more of a pure romance for me. Just because she had a crush on him since she was a little girl for a few episodes doesnt make it a youth drama for me... But if I were to rate it it would be a number 2 for me along with Reply 1988...

I would also put Page Turner up there but since the format is way different and since its only 3 episodes long I don't think its fair to compare it.

Oh yes as soon as I saw the first meeting scene in ep 1 i knew I was in for a visual treat. I rewatched it because of that and only on the second rewatch did I truly appreciate how absolutely beautiful it was.

I dont believe its more believable. That dude was bipolar. And usually I dont mind ML mush as long as he is passable. Normal people with normal relationships are far more common than represented in East Asian dramas. For me something like this is far more believable than a ridiculous plot like school 2017 or 2015 (lets not go into this plot please). I mean come on how many kid anti-heros do you know? And the supporting cast was comical. In Wifty even the teachers were passable. I guess you like narrative driven dramas while this is character driven so its meh to you.

All of those you mentioned except hidden love are sub par for me. Reply 1988 I like. Our secret was the first cdrama I watched, terrible, terrible writing. The ML had a switch in his head which when flipped he either became the most charming man alive or the biggest asshole alive.

Dont know, Lovey Us was too dark and gritty for me. This just looked great, the music was perfectly queued and the writing and characters were perfect. Its also a + that we did see a romance unlike in Lovely Us. Many people would like it more just because of that. But Lovely Us does have a much higher Douban score of 8.1 compared to this 7.6. Theres plenty of kdramas of this genre but they just arent the same quality. If this were a kdrama they would have made Zai participate in some obscure sport like pole vaulting and make her the victim of bullying or something stupid like that. I dont know what you were looking for maybe if you tell me a youth drama that you find has that something special?

This is at least on the level of Lovely Us. Actually the cinematography is much prettier than that. The characters are great and relatable and its kind of funny. This is def an above average cdrama, better than any other Ive watched of the genre.

The girl in episode 1 at 4:44, one of the seniors that catches them when they are late. Thats Zhang Miaoyis best friend.

Heh I watch them on my work laptop when I should be working. Oh well food and shelter are highly overrated. I can always move into an empty parking lot with free wifi and be with Zai Zainand Rang Rang forewer!

How is she a stalker lol? Its obvious from like episode 4 that the guy wants to go wherever she is going. You cant stalk someone that wants to be with you its called being friends. I dont get it she is so open and direct its literally the opposite of stalking. Stalking would be following someone around without their knowledge, creeping on their social media, asking around about them...

Well the director has made Lovely Us and Lets Meet Now. You can try those. Lovely Us focuses more on friendship/family the romantic component isnt as pronounced as in this. I absolutely loved it. Lets Meet Now is more of a romantic comedy and it has the two main actresses from this one as support cast. Its decent but not as good as Lovely Us or WIFTY.

For any Zhang Miaoyi fans IQIYI has announced that her new drama, Exclusive Fairytale, will be during the summer break. Which should mean July or August. I have heard that the novel that this is based on is very cute and sweet.
