I reckon it has been anticipated, when child actors are involved. They did not really hit anyone in real life. It is all acting and great directing and actors make the scenes believable.
Deng Kai might be tired playing all those ambiguous villains before, he went all out being the twisted mind most evil Qi Min, and he was fabulous!! Qi Min did not deserve a redemption arc but Deng Kai surely deserves an award for this drama 🫰🏻

Is Generation to Generation a great drama? Nope. Does it have flaws? Yes Is it entertaining? Definitely. This is a drama that kept me engaged, never a dull moment that made me feel like doing chores or wish that the character just stopped talking and did the action.
I started watching because Zhou Yiran looked so ethereal in the teasers, like a fairy king or fallen angel, totally different from his characters before. And I know he is a good actor, so I felt excited to start but did not expect anything. An Idol drama with young actors for the main castline is meant more to entertain, without deep plotlines.
Despite the lacks in editing at the beginning to 'unfortunately' the rushed ending, the story still made sense and I truly appreciate the old wuxia style with the corrupted 'righteous sects', the master-disciple plot and mostly the fighting hand-in-hand combat. The cinematography was breathtaking, especially for landscaping and slow motioned scenes. The OSTs were perfect. No loud or overwhelming bgm.
The ending was better than I thought, although it did not cover the adorable extra chapters from the novel. Mu Qingyan got what he had always wished for and Cai Zhao remained the loving spirited person. Love strenghtened them. They passed and did not repeat the cruel cycle of 200 years relationship between the Li sect and Luoying Valley.
