I'm sorry to butt in here 😅 but would like to comment regarding their 2nd life. They BOTH died. It wasn't just shown but it was implied since there were 2 poisoned cups of wine delivered to them. It's just the FL took it first while the ML's tied up.
What I like in short dramas are there are no fillers and the story is direct to the point. No unnecessary subplot, or if there is, it doesn't take much screen time. This is one of best short dramas. The actors did well!

I've been watching mini series these past weeks and while some are hidden gems, this drama is too cringey for me. For some reasons, I really don't like how the FL acted, it's too forced and unnatural for me. The other actors are fine.
Finally a better actress paired with Li Fei. I saw some of his other mini dramas and so far the FL here is the best for me in terms of chemistry and acting is on point , though she still needs improvement on the comedy part but atleast not that annoying cringy aegyo/sajiao(?) most of the FL's in his other dramas did. 9/10!

haha ikr!!! I tried watching other short/mini dramas after this one, and while some of them has good plot and better editing, the English subtitles were awful, it made me drop them. The English sub for this dramas is good.

As a mini series, this is actually good. The main actors portrayed their characters well enough. I can see that they don't have much previous works specially the ML so I hope this drama has given him a chance to show his talent and will have bigger projects in the future. As his character, he's too sweet to be a villain. He really portrayed that attention-seeking husband and oh boy he can kiss! 🤣 As for the FL, she's well-suited here as a general. A well-built woman (not the skinny usual we see on other dramas) that surely is capable of weilding a sword and leading an army. The downside, she's illiterate. How can a general be illiterate?? As for the story, it's light and not much angst and the subplot is the same old fight-for-the-throne thing. There are many loopholes and transition from one scene to another were cut too short, and some scenes don't really make sense at all. So if you're looking for an enjoyable 'non-sense', watch it for the fun and comedy moments 😉

I agree with the reply above. They didn't help Chulan to break the barrier physically. But the power used by Chulan was a collection of their Qi's. As far as I understand, as to what Master Zhiwei said that Qi Apothesis is the end point of all Qi's, Chulan seems to have unknowingly accumulated it during his encounter with them (friends). Just like how Baobao's power is also a collection of the 8 powers. Maybe more explanation to this on Season 2.

lol, he's obsessive and selfish from the very first tribulation/beginning he joined the ML and FL. He plotted against the ML even when he knows the ML didn't have his previos memories, and killing innocent mortal lives along the way just to get together with the FL. On that tribulation, he didn't know yet that the FL's primordial spirit was diminishing. Only when they got back to the heavenly realm did he learn about it. He never had the intention to save them both on this matter. He just wanted to be with the FL, even if it just in the mortal world. Anyway,l i think we shouldn't be discussing LY7T here since it's a different drama. and it seems that you have a preference with these types of SML so I will leave you to it. ✌️✌️
