Wait what??? Did the mother have any spine in the novel? Here in the drama, I was wondering how she and her son survived in that mansion all their lives with the way she is. I do understand she didn't want any conflict with the mistress of the house and just live quietly (supposedly) but her allowing the servants to humiliate and trample them was too much I was pissed at her at first. And now they're giving us hints that she is actually a cultivator because she seems to always notice the changes with her sons cultivation,,,no no! I'm more that pissed lol

Came here after "Be Yourself" and I was hesitant to watch this at first but I can't believe I couldn't stop once I started. The cinematography as mentioned were not great but the story flow and pacing was good enough to get me hooked.
ML here too has that I don't give a fck attitude and nonchalance most times is just badass!

He was a soldier too. If he realized that his life was exchanged for an entire town, imagine his guilt considering he is as upright as Qingchuan.

Nice! A lot of new releases short/mini dramas are quite good. Do the writers and directors finally figured out what most viewers actually wanted? lol
Be Yourself, Qingchuan's Veil of Vengeance, Bright Eyes and this are such a good watch. No jerk toxic ML's, no stupid FL with a 5-year old voice!

The choreography on the fighting scenes are as good as high budget dramas. We get to see how the villains are defeated and not just some random kicks or slice of sword in the air and its done lol! This is one was really good.

This is what you call a badass smart FL. But Oh my I had a bad feeling this is going to be a sad ending.

Right!? Like she's an anime character which is rare in costume/ancient dramas.

He has a better kinship with Bai Shi, while YanRan is just in fantasy. I'm glad this isn't a romance because none of them actually deserve him. And no, including the Master lol

What pissed me off more is that though we didn't get that scene that I was hoping for, but at the ending, that servant gets the chance to practice and become a mage??? Naksu even said that she has some hidden energy within her, lol. Like wtF, she's already arrogant as a maid, how much more if she becomes a mage.
