at this point, i no longer want to stress myself out of the messy writing. i justt need a happy ending, jeballlllllll...…
I’ve come to understand a bit about Korean mainland audiences who are the primary targeted audience for Korean dramas. Makjang style dramas and historical dramas do the best with this audience. It’s why we keep seeing these themes again and again, even as dramas try to cater to international audiences as well. It’s the reason I’m not annoyed or mad by the developments because it’s expected. It’s always a risk for a Korean writer/director to try and balance the tastes of their domestic audience with the expectations of their international audience. For example, it worked with Parasite. Squid Games and Train to Busan were catered almost completely to international audiences but thankfully, the risk paid off.
Idk abt yall but I'm defenitly seated for the finale even tho Im sure its gonna make my blood boil! 😂
Same. Although I understand the points people are making, I knew from around ep 12 that it was going to progress like a Korean daily drama where they keep upping the stakes, so I’m not even mad. It is what it is. I’m still excited and I still enjoyed the journey.
As you’ve read the novel, could you spoil this for me and summarise what happens/what it’s all about?
Thank you so much for this detailed summary. This is exactly what I was looking for. I thought this was going to have an ending like Miracle of Teddy Bear, so I wanted to know before getting invested. Tbh the conclusion doesn’t sound any better. It’s going to be difficult for me not to see Ming as an a$$hole all the way to the end. I think I’ll put this one on the back burner. Thanks again. 🙏
I feel like I am watching a soap opera 🤣 this is bringing me back to when the grandma next door would babysit…
So true. I’ll never forget Victor being left for dead for as long as I live. 😂 It’s right up there with who shot J.R. and Soraya Montenegro’s “maldita lisiada” to Maria. 😅Jaws dropped everywhere across South and North America and the Caribbean. 🤣🤣
So many posts and theories that point to HW dying in the end ... I don't know , eg: Youth of may ending was hard…
I’m pretty certain we’ll have a happy ending. Even though the drama has emotional scenes, the tone has never been dark. Rest assured, it’s not the kind of drama to have a sad ending for the leads.
I wonder if the special episodes were planned from the start or are a response to how well received the drama is. 🤔 I’m not gonna look a gift horse in the mouth. 😅 I’ll take those two special episodes, thank you very much. 👍
For a short series it sure packed an emotional punch. The lead actress delivered the weight of those heavy scenes like a pro. I was crying buckets but it’s the sort of cry you want to have from a drama. It’s emotional enough without ripping your heart out.
I thought the ML looked familiar. He also did a good job. It’s interesting finding out that actors you’ve watched are former/current K-pop idols. This was my third drama watching the ML before I realised who he was.
Warning! Ep 18 is a heavy Sir Underlip episode #ThoseWhoKnowKnow
I’m trying to be a good person and then one of y’all post a comment like ‘Sir Underlip’ and I know I’m going to hell because 🤣🤣🤣😭😭🤣😭 BWAHAHA 😹😂😂😂😂 😂🤣😂😂🤣🤣😭😭😭😂🤣😭😭😂😭😭😂🤣
I think, though, we have to be realistic that MDL will not reach the number of watchers it used to have no matter…
Oh for sure. I’m happy you’re happy and I’m glad when a drama brings viewers so much joy. I just don’t want to see viewer's robbed of that joy or feel disappointed by the MDL viewership or rating system. The success of this show is admirable and is definitely cause for celebration even if that isn’t reflected as it should on MDL.
40,286 no. of watchers for QOT ,it was 40,110 before 3 hours ago ,we are increasing
I think, though, we have to be realistic that MDL will not reach the number of watchers it used to have no matter how popular the show because there are more communities/different site options available than 7-8 years ago. It’s not a reflection of the popularity of the show. It’s an indicator that less and less people are coming to MDL. I think it’s why we shouldn’t get too fixated on numbers because often they are not representing the full picture.
