It's always a treat to watch Ding Yu Xi of course. I believe his skills have improved considerably since his first drama that I've seen. It's my first time seeing the actress that plays the FL, considering she's only 19, I did not have any massive expectations from her, and I think she did good, albeit a bit awkward in some romantic scenes, but I think it's consistent with her character.
We've got a revenge story, mystery cases solving, batshit crazy villains, an arranged marriage and court politics mixed in with romance, naturally. I was wary of the ML's character at first, he came in as a whole parade of red flags, but luckily we got to see that it's not that simple, therefore getting into the reasons for his behaviour. Later, it was a joy to watch him as a gentle, adoring husband all the while being a badass official. The FL is the smart, bubbly persona, with her own principles and albeit naive, I liked her. I know she sparked quite a riot in the comments, but I enjoyed her dynamics with the ML, I did not expect she'd be so feisty with my guy lol, and yeah, she made dumb decisions along the way, acting on her own and getting in trouble on a few occasions, and most of the time it was due to her own ignorance regarding the ongoing political games (and acting on her own when there's a husband who could be of great help duh), and I'll give her a pass, cause it's unrealistic to expect someone who's very young and never been exposed to these kind of machinations, be all seeing and all knowing. Homegirl solved cases on her own, got clues, helped the ML (and everyone else) considerably and managed to be a loyal, ride-or-die wifey, as well as a good friend, so I really don't get the hate lol.
As much as I enjoyed these series, given the fact that its 40 eps, OF COURSE we have them tropes (these are the ones that I remember, it could be more): - childhood sweethearts ✅ - cold ruthless ML (at first) ✅ - arranged marriage ✅ - the famous ''she fell first but he fell harder'' (although it's debatable, it seems that way to me) ✅ - the inevitable ''I'm hurting you to protect you'' break-up/divorce ✅ - FL stabs the ML with a hairpin (lol, must be a trend now) ✅
All in all, an enjoyable watch with smart leads, nice chemistry, and a happy ending! 🤩
Personally, the latter flowed better and I enjoyed the couple's interaction after they admitted their feelings…
Lol, I also enjoyed LRRFTF, the leads had great relationship and overall a solid watch, which could've been shorter but still quite enjoyable. Ok, so I'll continue finishing MOGA then, thaaaanks!! 😻
Beware unlike iQiyi and Youku the WeTV express can only be watched on a device, no air-playing to a TV.
Omg, thanks for telling me! I did not know that! It's a good thing I did not purchase the express package cause I would've been livid 😢. I prefer watching on my PC and enjoy the experience. Thank youuuu
Things are getting juicy from ep.11 on 🤭 This is great, I like how both MLs have very intricate characters, and I love the FL's character a lot, I've only seen her in Starry love before, but she is amaziiing 🤩
People overlook a lot depending on their faves in this drama. ;pBut usually it's the other way around. People…
Yeah, no doubt there is no black and white with these characters, and I get their actions and choices to be honest. I'm just baffled at how much leeway a guy can get just because he's hot, honestly them comments caught me off guard 🤦♀️
You saw lost you forever and thought you could heal your heart😂😂
Lol, I actually agree 💯, it seems her character regresses as the story goes on. When she became a woman again and then the princess, I was surprised of how much I missed her version when she was a doctor dude in the beginning.
saaaame, I had a whole discussion with myself before giving in and starting to watch it 🤦♀️
I have the iQiyi subscription as well, but this show is not available in my country 😭 but I don't feel like getting Wetv, cause same, a looooot of shows are not available in my region 😭😭😭
Lol, don't worry he will enter the puppy love phase and full fill audience wild fantasies. I know people are waiting…
Lol, nooooo, I hope they will tone it down, there seems to be a trend lately with the simping MLs, like I'm all for love and adoration and everything, but they be overdoing it so much that it ruins the character 😭
You just started 4 days ago and you are done? wowser!! I am on my first rewatch.
Honestly, for me it concluded quite nicely at the end of ep.35, because my primary interest when watching this was the leads relationship/romance aspect, so it seemed a good moment to finish it there. I totally get your hesitation, cause I'm the same - I just don't feel like going through 4 more episodes when everything falls apart (again). You could watch some youtube edits (there are a lot of them) and you will get the summary version of the last episodes 🤷♀️
