He doesn't like XFF, she was a mindless beauty for him, because in the novel XFF was hiding her true talents because of SY.
In a novel he first see her as a pawn and then just helping her more and more and gradually fall in love. But he only reveals his feelings after another man plans to ask for a marriage decree to JL.

Can't wait for how with just a few words from XH XFF's father will be totally smitten and like "you can marry her, no more questions"

There is a general(I think he is emperor's uncle but not sure because of MTL translations in those chapters) who wants to make his son a king. This general is XH's enemy. I really hope they will go with that, but they could stop with making Cheng Wan the biggest enemy.
