Sure there is that (and a lot of other things) but i was specifically talking about the end of ep4 part 3 when she followed Yuan when she was about to give her date ticket #1 to Chen instead of simply waiting for her turn from afar she decided to ostensibly pry on their talk which is very disrespectful and has put pressure on both Yuan and Chen. But not only that she made sure Chen saw her like a way to put pressured on him (and she succeed). And let's no talk about the guilt tripping that followed. Our girl was really in her worst behavior there and probably regretted it after cause she is a sweetie.

I think the main reason he gave Ailin his other date ticket is because it would have counted as a rejection and Chen probably didn't want to reject someone still dear to him like that at the door of his bedroom, in the corridor where other could hear everything. With a second date he can respectfully and privately reject her later saying that he tried but still think they're not suitable for each other (even if i think it will backfire and that supposed to be last date will be more like the start of him changing his mind)

After Chen confided in Yuan he doesn't want to be in a controlling relationship i would be very puzzled if he ends up choosing Ailin who raised this red flag many time (which i think he will for reasons i can't explain). Love is blind i guess...

Far from participating nor encouraging the hate towards a participant. I must say i started to be very disappointed by Ailin's actions in the last episodes (beyond the excuse of evil editing) but the last thing she did left me speechless. I understand the fact that indeed love is a battlefield, that of course you should "fight" for "love", etc and at the end of the day everyone is human but there's things you should always refrain to do in order to preserve your integrity. While still wishing silently her the best I'm now solely rooting for Yuan and Chen knowing sadly that Yuan's happiness might come at the price of Ailin's. I hope Chen will make up his mind after the next series of date and reject one of the girl cause all three of them deserve better and to navigate the rest of the show with an appeased mindset. You can do it HS8 ! You can conclude this mid start with an amazing end ! Let's go ! *fingers crossed* Btw :XiaoJiao !!! The man you are !

I think each part of an episode is counted as an episode on this page. So for example episode 1 is made of three parts so its 3 episodes on MDL, etc (sometimes episodes will be made of 3 parts, at the end it might be 2 parts slightly longer). "More" episodes and reactions are counted separately on HS S8 : extra episodes. Also the Panel reunion and the participants two days island trip are counted in HS S8 : Pilot. Don't ask me why, i find it stupid and confusing for no valid reason. So far we are 9 episodes in almost 1/3 in the show.

i find it very strange (almost like you have an ulterior motive) for you start you comment by sayin you're not into fanwar or dragging an innocent woman in the mud just to go right after on a rant that is in fact the very thing you're claiming not to be into. Strange isn't it ? ;)

Both sides are nasty. Both sides are toxic and despicable. The distinction needs to be done between normal shippers and the toxic fringe of shippers, the same usual suspects, jumping from the ship of a show to another one, spreading like a cancer killing the mood everywhere they go just to escape the reality of their miserable life and stroke their fragile ego with a dopamine rush via parasocial validation. If you/we want to push back the way of doing it is by being above those childish arguments like "they are worse than them", "they started it not us", "they did this but not them", etc, etc, etc.

Nowhere i said i expect participants from S8 and beyond to be as fresh as S1 ones. I said previous seasons as a all and i was implying as fresh as they can be for a 8th season obviously (well not for everyone apparently). If some participants from S7 did it S8 ones should be too. I also mentioned it could be the editing. Please read thoroughly my comments before trying to lecture me like an angry internet Karen.

BFR Not thinking about their possible popularity gain or what the toxic delulu shippers outside the show could think or not about them and their choice should be the standard approach of any participants of any dating show. I think what is happening rn with the ships and the shippers going after some participants to harass them prove me right. Also it is not because a lot a people accept something that shouldn't be in the first place that it validate it. There is those cool concepts called "improvement" and "evolving mentalities", you should read about them.

I can already tell either one of the ship will be absolutely insufferable for the rest of the show if LC settle down early (reason why i hope this love triangle will exhaust them till the end. This or him going to another woman would be hilarious). Cause if not we will be the one brought to constant nausea by their toxic childish behavior.

Same ! Isn't it weird. It is almost like the participants lost the freshness of the previous seasons (might be the production fault). Like now they are self aware of how it works and how to navigate the show in a more calculative way to secure both love and fame (even though some of them almost look paralized by the fear of doing wrong). Weighting their options while staying on the edge of the public backlash and it shows on screen. At least for that season. It lacks genuine, meaningful, braveness, etc. Just like you said so far it lacks a concrete foundation and i hope its there but only hidden by a sloppy editing.

Yeah... I guess... Kinda off topic though. I was pointing out the fact that none of those shows manage to either maintain their previous level of quality or found the recipe of a well rounded show/adaptation. Please bfr how would you know something is good or better than a previous iteration or something else in the same genre if with time there wasn't some kind of established benchmark.

It is sad to see the show which hold the crown fumbling like that to deliver the greatness they got us used to. Apparently its like a theme of this year : Bad/mid new shows or new seasons everywhere :

SI was good but not stellar, there was that horrible Exchange spinoff no one asked about that cost us a one year hiatus of S4, HP was just a boring rebranded HS Korea, made by the same old toxic pd team and ruined by the toxic JiJeyeon shippers. BLTS started solid but explode mid flight. DS7 is back to the mid abyss season 6 had pulled it off and lets not talk about all the Chinese versions of Korean shows so bad no one even want to acknowledge the existence.

Now HS8 is not even as good as S5...
This year is cursed for dating shows, cursed! We need a MSR2 to break the curse. Where is Lee Jin Joo pdnim ? Is she cookin something ???

Season being too boring, participants being to passive, love lines being to clear from the beginning = pds need a lot of time to edit some "fake" drama in it, blur the love lines/eg couples, fabricate or make love triangles look bigger than they actually are.

I hope she'll wish to act better in this one cause not only it doesn't look that great on paper, its on track to be another Suzy dra"meh". That girl lose more of her acting "mojo" each drama she is in. Sad. The fact she can still book so much work is a mystery. Talking about a face career.

Tbh i'm not into this season that much and i don't know why. Call it a sixth sens of a delulu ptsd. Something feels off with S8, almost fishy. Am I the only one ? There was a rumor before the show announced its schedule. originally it was supposed to air sooner but was ultimately postponed due to the need of heavy editing it.

I tought it was like 90% of the time BS made by fans, etc but now i see sequences like LC bedroom and the gym one with RL being so blantantly/evilishly edited and let's not talk about he fact the timeline is really hard to understand here unlike previous seasons. I'm starting more and more to believe that rumor was not that crazy after all. Also the shippers are so annoying with the love triangles (both sides). They are such mood killers. I'm really considering dropping the show to watch it with spoilers when its done. So far this season is under 5,7,6.

I would not say normal, cause a week is super short for that kind of show, but it is up to the production team to make the best out of their time. Here the first two days were just so poorly produce the result is mid and boring. A catastrophe imo cause the first few days are the more foundations setting.

This season is so boring af. We're already four episodes (two days) in and all the participants are focused on one person. After an amazing season 6 the show seems to be back to its previous state of mid/bad standards . I'm out. I'll watch or not when the show is over.

Probably after SeongWoo rejected her. Could be tied to the sequence of him saying something about being "the bad guy" something like that.

Same !!! I think she and Ailin might struggle a lot, one for being to cheerful, the other for being to introverted. Also is it me or Yuxing's poster is either spoiling us or misleading us? Like Why is he holding sunflowers ? LuYuan's favorite flowers...

The guy who looks like EunHyuk from Super Junior ? Don't know, i'm not feeling him well. He's giving player energy. I think he will loose interest for her as soon it will be revealed she has a son. Job and Children status reveal will have a huge impact so don't ship to much before that cause Korea is the land of pragmatism. For some korean people, especially divorced, having certains jobs, having or not children are deal breakers no matter how much they might like someone.

So far season 8 started weaker than 7 & 6 imo. Some participants are promising "major player", but idk overall I'm not super excited to see how they'll develop. Not talking about how some of them already giving "stuck on one person/ready to settle down" energy.

Also even if like how HS China always try to keep the og concept fresh with new ideas, I find it very inefficient and noneffective (budget and production wise) not to say stupid to start with show with and island "trip". I think it's undercutting the impact of the near end trip of past seasons. Heart Pairing made the same mistake by spending half of it's budget on a luxury trip to Italy at the beginning and it was not even better than the Seoul part.

And who idea it was to split the participants in groups of 5 and not 4-6 cause it clearly backfired with one person of each group third-wheeling half the time. Hope to be wrong, but i'm not feeling this season... It looks good but lack the "je ne sais quoi" Season 5, 6 and 7 have.
