LOL, the drama has only been filming for 20+ days, and CZY has already changed into around 20 outfits. I feel like I see a brand-new costume almost every day 😂 and I like it all 🤭

Floating Life spans multiple time periods with the characters encountering each other across different dynasties and eras.

Modern Day: The framing narrative follows the tree spirit running her dessert shop while listening to various stories.

Historical Eras: The flashback and episodic stories take place across the Warring States Period, the Tang Dynasty, the Song Dynasty, and the Republic of China era.

It only has 30 episodes though, and honestly, I wish it had 40!

Yeah, I don’t know why we didn’t get more costumes for WCR. She looks absolutely gorgeous in every outfit, and I really hope we’ll get to see more of her looks.

ZLS is not in this drama, so there’s really no need to mention her name since it has nothing to do with Lusi. She is already excellent and doesn’t need anyone to validate that for her.

And honestly, I’m a bit surprised that DK is playing the SML. With all the hype surrounding him after that drama, I thought he would already be getting ML roles. Not sure why he chose to join this drama as the SML, but anyway, I like DK and have no hate toward him at all.

I’m also a HUGE fan of CZY, so I’m really looking forward to this drama with him as the ML.

And I’m not even a huge fan of some actor because some fans of that drama and THAT actor constantly look down on other dramas and Chinese actors/actresses, insulting everyone everywhere across social media, acting as if their drama is the only masterpiece in the C-drama industry.
And I honestly don’t care enough to go into that drama’s thread just to leave harsh comments, because it has nothing to do with me.

But some fans of that drama even have the nerve to come here and talk down about the ML, while bringing up an actress who has absolutely nothing to do with this drama.

Such a stereotype.

If you don't like CZY, then you can skip this drama as he is the MALE LEAD here not someone else and DK also acts in another dramas that you can enjoy watching.

So eventually, you’ll have a whole pack of dramas to watch over the next couple of months leading into summer 😄

Don’t worry, they’ll air it very soon. I’ve also been waiting for more than a year 😅 And you know, two of CZY’s dramas have been shelved for years and basically disappeared into thin air, so waiting just one year is still better than not getting it at all 🥲

Since it will air on satellite TV, they also need to arrange the broadcast schedule accordingly.

This is just my guess and honestly......I don’t know anything about the drama script.
They might introduce more scenes and development for the ML in the drama because from what I’ve heard, the original novel gives Ao Chi less presence and focuses a lot on side stories.
If they adapt the novel too closely, the ML might end up with very little screen time.
I know that might not sit well with novel fans but if the drama rewrites the ML as a more compelling and important love interest for the FL, it could make the story more interesting for the audience.

After just two days of filming, he already has four costumes with two different styles and I kind of like them 😊

So they created a new character for him?
He has a completely different style and outfit, the light blue look that was trending on Weibo yesterday made him look like a fairy lol.
I think that appearance is what @Enigma05 referred to as Cang Hui.

In the novel, Ao Chi is subdued by Zi Miao after causing a flood while bathing in a lake and he later meets Sha Luo.
Zi Miao’s body and soul are completely extinguished (though it’s unclear how), and he is later resurrected as Wang Chuan in a later chapter.
I’m not sure how the drama will handle this, though....let’s wait and see. By the way, I haven’t actually read the novel yet.

You can refer to my spoiler above about his character. He will play a naughty dragon who protects the female lead and truly loves her.
If you’re really his fan, please trust him. As a long-time fan myself, I’ve noticed that many of the roles he chooses reflect the kind of characters he wants to explore and portray.

Ao Chi is not the boring character ML for sure.

I’m a bit confused that this novel adaptation only has 30 episodes. With multiple timelines, I assume they might cut some side stories which I don’t mind since I’m more interested in the main plot and a fast-paced narrative that fully immerses the audience.

Deng Kai’s character won’t just be an illusion, he is the love of Sha Luo’s life, so they will definitely include his scenes. As for the Water God (DK) and the Dragon (CZY), since they are enemies, the drama will likely feature fantasy scenes showcasing their battles also.

Sha Luo had a tragic love story with Zi Miao and never truly forgot him.
Ao Chi came to rescue her but as an enemy and because he seemed to fall for her at first sight, he kept her by his side and liked teasing her. They often had intense arguments as she kind of hated him at first and even called him an “ugly monster” since he’s a dragon.
Meanwhile, she was still deeply in love with Zi Miao. Ao Chi stayed by her side, encouraging her to live her life. He protected her and eventually confessed his feelings.
Sometimes he would come back to see her from afar, constantly saying he missed her, that’s why he always found his way back to her lol, he’s so bold.
In the end, she opened her heart to him, as he was the one who helped her believe in love and life again.
The novel is so long lol, I’m too lazy to read it. I tried to find summaries that focus on the main storyline, since there are so many side stories as well.
