And fun fact: Mr. GY is also one of the producers of FH 🤣🤣🤣 Can you believe that? During the drama’s airing, there was basically no promotion at all not even trending searches on Weibo or other social media platforms. We can’t even rely on the CEO… man… I’ve been following the Chinese entertainment industry long enough to know that most “trending” or “hot” searches are usually bought. Otherwise, how would Weibo even make money to operate the platform? And honestly, promotion is just basic practice, there’s nothing wrong with promoting a drama though social media, just like Hollywood promotes its movies so audiences actually know they exist. That’s also why Hollywood movies have a clear break-even point to determine whether they’re profitable or not. You can’t compare low-budget movies to high-budget ones because marketing costs are part of the equation and success can be measured against that break-even point.
But in China? Nahhhhh. They only talk about heat index or average views as “success,” when in reality, some dramas that break heat indexes may actually lose money because they spent too much on heavy marketing rather than on the quality of the drama.
i also dont understand why they dont want other platforms to air their drama. when i saw mobius in netflix i was…
iQIYI has so many mysterious things that I just can’t figure out. But Bodi sold FH to the South Korean streaming platform Wavve and it’s airing there now.
The CFO’s name is Jun Wang who has resigned while the CEO, Gong Yu, is still with iQIYI 😂 So maybe the one I should be blaming isn’t the CFO but the CEO 🤣 But who would dare blame the founder of iQIYI, a man who even holds a Ph.D. from Tsinghua University (the top university in China)? 🤣 Who am I to dare blame Mr. GY? 🙃
This may be a bit off-topic, but it’s somehow related. I heard that iQIYI’s CFO has already resigned, though I’m not sure if it’s true. Honestly, if it is, it’s well deserved. Compared to other platforms, iQIYI’s drama quality has noticeably declined in recent years, and they don’t seem to care much about their dramas anymore not just CZY’s, but overall. Like… sir? What are you even doing? Producing dramas that don’t match the budget, with no proper promotion, unclear air dates, and zero sense of urgency. With such fierce competition between platforms, they should be far more proactive. Otherwise, they’ll end up losing both audiences and subscribers, which is obviously not good for the platform. And what’s wrong with selling your dramas to Netflix? Many of CZY’s dramas are tied to this platform such a pity.
Last year, when he attended the CELINE Summer Fashion Show, the post featuring him on CELINE Official Weibo gained 1.26 million likes. https://weibo.com/7341645657/Q8kPYBN26
Why do Chinese actors and actresses rarely hold fan meetings outside China, and why are fan meetings so limited…
I’m not sure either. I don’t see them holding fan meetings but many of them do have concerts in China. There might be some regulations that prevent fan meetings though I could be wrong.
CZY hasn’t held any fan meetings either in China or overseas but iQIYI has used him to promote the platform and organized events in Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia. These weren’t actual fan meetings but at least fans could meet him in person.
First of all, thank you to Weibo for awarding us the Diamond Super Topic honor of 【Hot】 + 【Achievement】. Secondly, thank you to all the fans for your hard work and contributions to the Super Topic over the past year. This honor belongs to all the fans; you are all incredibly amazing! 👍🏻
--------- From me, thank you to all Chinese Yuanbao for sharing Yuanyuan’s news, reuters updates, photos, videos and so on. Without you all, I honestly wouldn’t know where to find a place to follow Yuanyuan 🥹
I really love his Celine Gala look and these photos were taken by his fansite.Such a handsome and beautiful young…
He’s trying not to be typecast. That’s why he accepts a variety of roles instead of sticking to idol dramas, his choices speak for themselves. He also transforms himself for each role which is why we can’t see any trace of DJX in FSG or even of his real self. Many people may like him because of DJX and expect him to behave the same way 😂 but that’s completely not the case. After following him for a while, I’ve realized that there’s no trace of him in his characters at all even the way he speaks is quite different in each drama.
Congratulations to Feng Suige and Li Zan!!!👏👏👏Chen Zheyuan starred in two dramas that were among the…
I don’t know about the dubbing schedule either. He went back to Shenzhen with his mom after the Celine event, so I’m not sure where the dubbing will take place maybe Beijing. Let’s see if he flies back to Beijing again. If they don’t let him dub his own voice in the drama, I’ll seriously curse the production team for wasting such a big part of his talent 🫤
yessss! Both with low budget and minimal promotion Yuan (cast and crew included ofcourse) delivers. Congrats TWOT…
Fated Hearts is the costume drama that made everyone realize CZY can do voice acting 😆 Because he has a modern, boyish face, many people say he doesn’t suit costume dramas. Still, he wanted to improve and accepted this role. Thanks to the production team and everyone involved for making such a great drama except iQIYI. Not you. You didn’t do anything, you just broadcast it 😑
CZY, please accept the happy ending drama next 🥺
