Fans have said that he looks much healthier now compared to when he was filming JSWP. During that period, he was extremely thin because the costumes required him to stay slim along with the tight schedule.

Strongly agree!! Speaking of his audiences outside China, I was really surprised to find that he has many Indian fans (at least from what I assume). They seem to have followed him from Our Secret and later watched the Hindi-dubbed version of Hidden Love on Youku’s official YouTube channel. Many comments mentioned that they had watched Our Secret before with 13K upvote.
If he does act in a modern drama, I hope it won’t be on iQIYI, since iQIYI dramas aren’t available on Netflix. It would be better if it were with Youku or Tencent.

Actually, there’s a melon going around about a CCTV primetime drama called Seventh Son, in which he would play one of the sons.
However, since nothing is official, I don’t want to rely on it or believe it. Otherwise, people will later say it’s been changed to another actor and that CZY has been replaced blah blah blah, the same old tactics from last year’s rumors.

I kind of like the peaceful vibe on Weibo right now, no loud rumor-mongering everywhere and no one using it as an excuse to slander CZY again.

He said there’s no need to worry about him, that he’s just resting for a while and I actually agree. I understand that we all miss seeing his Reuters and want to watch his dramas every half year hahaha me too 😅

They haven’t submitted the drama for distribution licensing yet. It’s still in post-production and I believe CZY is currently working on dubbing.
For now, all we can do is wait. This process usually takes two to three months or even longer.
As a result, the drama will most likely air in the summer or later. If we’re lucky enough, we might get to watch it in Q2.

I’m not sure whether you’re familiar with the Chinese entertainment industry but what I can say is that K-dramas generally have a wider audience while Chinese actors and actresses tend to have more die-hard fans who are willing to spend money to support them.

It’s not just CZY or Neo, Chinese actors and actresses clearly dominate the leaderboard on this website. Giving a heart, like or vote the drama doesn’t cost anything but sending flowers requires money. That’s something only die-hard fans or fans who truly appreciate the actors would do.

I think it’s similar to K-pop. K-pop fans are also very loyal and willing to spend money to buy albums or digital songs or to vote for their favorite artists with money. While K-dramas are still more popular worldwide, in recent years Chinese dramas have also been attracting a growing number of viewers.

I don’t think we should use the number of flowers as a way to judge anything. It mainly reflects how willing fans are to spend money on their favorites, not necessarily who is more popular in China, Korea or globally 😊

That’s why achieving a CVB rating of over 2+ is not easy at all and it can’t be manipulated by massive marketing campaigns or inflated heat index on web platforms.

CZY is a rising star who tends to be criticized if a drama doesn’t perform well, while other actors or even the production team are rarely blamed. To be honest, compared to the other actors that has major role in the drama, CZY is the youngest, so of course his acting can’t yet be on par with performers who have been in the industry for 20–30 years. He knows this, but he still took on the challenge without fear.

In this type of drama, there’s no heavy beautifying or pretty face treatment, actors are shown with minimal makeup, revealing their real skin and natural features. Not many popular actors dare to take on such roles because they risk being mocked for their true appearance.
