Finally finished this. The one trailer I had initially watched didn't showcase the comedy so when I saw that comedy was one of the main tags I thought I would not enjoy this that much if it was focused on the comedy, but the story was interesting and Xu QiAn was a likeable character.
I'm in the camp that wished the romance would have had a little more "oomf" to it. I was convinced that she fell for him, but I wasn't really fully convinced that he had feelings for her. Maybe it would have been better if they had held off on the romance entirely.
Sorry friend but I think your comment will be buried by then. Maybe set a calendar alert to check back at the…
I'm new to cdramas so I don't know a whole lot about their production, but this drama is still currently filming and my understanding is it takes at least quite a few months for post-production, then it has to go through a censorship review process and then finally an air date.
I do hope it will be sooner but at least a year in between filming start and airing seems to be average?
I just started watching Blossom (literally on episode 1 lol) and the director definitely has an eye for visual…
ooo have fun watching. i didn't really notice the slo-mo that much so i guess it didn't bother me but i can understand that. The Double for example (different director but also very gorgeous) annoyed me sometimes with what i felt was an overuse of "close up of character staring directly into the camera" shots lol.
I was watching a few edits of Blossom and it just makes me so excited to see how this series will turn out. The director being the same is what made this catch my interest in the first place.
I think the novel plot is fairly straightforward but even if the drama script goes wacky I know at least this will still be wonderful to look at.
Finally finished this after getting distracted by other series. Overall very good & enjoyed it a lot but man the…
All of that battle should have been against the Prince. It would have made Wu Ji and Wen Ji's deaths feel more impactful. As it was, their deaths felt like cheap shock value. Other than some beautiful cinematography, what purpose did that final battle serve? Was it just to scare the viewer into thinking it might have a tragic ending? but even then there was no pay off because their reunion was so rushed. So strange decisions made for the finale. Had to knock a half star off my rating it annoyed me so much.
Anyway, gonna live in a make believe world where Wen Ji and Lu Ji didn't have such pointless deaths.
After reading the novel, even from what little I've seen of her I think Tian Xi Wei is spot on casting for the FL, at least visually. She completely fits how the FL is described. I don't know if she has done action/fighting scenes before but I really hope those will come to life well in the drama.
i enjoyed this drama a lot but man the poster is cracking me up. i feel the poster kinda misrepresents the show- makes it seem like it's about a love triangle but it's really not lol
I only watched 1 trailer when I saw some hype for this over in the Blossom comment section, and the the trailer was a bit more on the normal serious side so I was a bit disappointed and confused when I saw the comedy genre tag listed first. I like comedic moments but generally I am not a fan of stuff that puts comedy first.
But I decided to give this a try anyway since I did like the trailer and I have enjoyed it quite a bit so far (ep 7). It's lighthearted and silly at times but there is also an actual plot and interesting stuff going on.
I've watched a few episodes and I'm enjoying it so far but before I watch any more, knowing this has multiple seasons and is still not "complete" how is the ending of this season? Like is it completely abrupt or is there at least an arc that ends in a way thats at least partially satisfying?
But it's still a marriage of convenience tho, they are very convinent in each other's company and having their…
It's not about it being good or bad, but the "marriage of convenience" tag implies they get together before they fall for each other or at least before expressing their feelings, which isn't the case for this drama.

Anyway, I had fun with it and look foward to s2

It's a specific trope so the tag is misleading
