A lot of people are criticizing the pacing saying it feels "off" but personally I'm enjoying this 2nd season a lot so far. I am worried that like the 1st season, this season will also do a hard pivot to focusing on the main bad guy for the entire 2nd half. I would rather see a few more cases and only the last 2-3 (4 at most) eps be about taking on the big bad, with more and more revealed up until that point like it has been so far.

No, it's a direct continuation and you would be missing out on a lot in my opinion.

it doesn't seem like they plan to make it like Road to Kingdom or The Unit and use super underrated/nugu groups or a ton of idols from disbanded groups, but at the same time it feels unlikely we'd see any Big 3+Hybe Labels groups participate. Hard to say with the little info we have right now

Why does the cast info have Youngbin as Oswald?? I guess he sort of had the role Oswald did but they're different characters.

I read the full webtoon, it was pretty meh (it's currently coming out on the Webtoon app, but it's finished and you can find fan translations on other sites). I'm a pretty big sucker for these sort of "going back in time"/"reincarnated as a character" type stories, a lot of them either have some sort of unique aspect or if they're not unique story-wise then the characters/relationships make up for it, but this webtoon didn't check either category.

Don't get your hopes up by the "revenge story" description, unless the drama makes a lot of changes the revenge aspects hardly make any sense, and there's prominent romance plot that takes over. I like PMY a lot and I think she could do a lot better than this story.

I went into this with mixed expectations. Overall, I enjoyed more than I thought I would. The acting, characters, and action carried it for me. As I expected though, there are still issues with the plot changes I have a hard time getting over. It's not the end of the world I suppose that they changed they middle school flashback to the first semester (year? it was hard to tell how much time was passing). The problem I still have is that this was originally part of Sieun's backstory of how he became the type of fighter that he is and how good he is at it.
But they used this as the start, and from the jump he's already adept at using his surroundings to beat the shit out of people, and already a little unhinged. There's no reason given for this, this whole thing was supposed to be the lead up. So they'll either have to come up with a new backstory in a future season or simply just not address it.

If you're a webtoon reader like me, I would still recommend this on the basis of Gray/Sieun being spot on character wise along w/ the action/fight scenes though.

You should put it in a spoiler that he ends up in a coma. That's a major plot spoiler if this ends up following the webtoon backstory.
I have seen no news about this webtoon confirming anything about whether certain characters will appear or not. If you have any links, I would love to see them.

Anyway, what do people who complained about Stephen/Suho being left in a coma have to do with me or what I said? The webtoon is ongoing, I do hope to maybe see Stephen emerge from his coma eventually, but I have never once complained about it.

My criticisms are based on the trailer and what looks like a lot of changes from the original plot. If it ends up following the original more closely than what it looks like, great!
I'm going to watch this regardless, but I'm allowed to be disappointed.

I expected some deviation, but It's hard not to feel disappointed by how different this seems like it will be from the webtoon story-wise. If the characters from Gray's middle school backstory are now the main characters for high school, what about Ben, Alex, Gerard, Eugene??? What about the actual antagonist: Donald Na?
(Pardon the use of English names, that's what I'm used to from the official translation).
I was hopeful that the first season would adapt the backstory and then maybe the 2nd season (and hoped there would be more seasons) would be the actual story.

This still has potential to be a good drama I guess, but I just don't get why they bothered making an adaptation if they were going to change so much??? They could have made this a sort of soft adaption spin-off, but instead it's an adaptation that uses the characters from the original. So any hope of an adaptation that actually follows the story is down the drain for the foreseeable future.

I said this on the comment section for the show a while ago, but I was hoping a somewhat older actor would end up as the lead. I think Cha Eunwoo could do well in this role in terms of character personality, but I imagined the characters in their early 30s at least since they're teachers, but Cha Eunwoo still looks very young.

Reviews can't be made until the show is finished airing. And I'm clearly talking about recent episodes and not the first 1 or 2. Also where did you get the idea that the comment sections on MDL aren't for people just beginning to watch the show? There's a spoiler option available for a reason. Comments can even be reported for containing spoilers. How hard is it to be courteous and check a one little box?

I know to avoid comment sections on popular currently airing dramas until I'm caught up, but y'all are going to ruin things for people who haven't started it yet and just might want to see if people are saying if it's good or not.

As someone who read the webtoon I'm not super excited about Cha Eunwoo potentially playing the lead. I don't have anything against him, but the main leads are teachers and I imagined them being in their early 30s at least. I could buy Cha Eunwoo as a high school student in True Beauty but as a high school teacher? idk. I did think the webtoon was fun though so I'll probably give this a shot regardless of the casting.

i had been so hooked on the first 6 or so episodes :/ but it didn't deliver

i had read on twitter that they were only taking trainees not under any contracts (which would mean a potential permanent group rather than a temporary group), but based on the boysplanet.net info, applicants can be personal trainees, contracted trainees, or debuted artists. so they either scraped that idea or the info i saw had been wrong.

It was interesting watching this for the first time years after it aired. There are a lot of contestants on here who are still active, although some have sadly disappeared. It was fun seeing the interactions and friendships, and there's a lot of good performances.
Some of the editing is weird at times tho, especially for the girls team.

It is sad it wasn't like The Unit where both teams got to debut and it was just that the team that won got to debut first. Though, with the way YG messed everything up (I still can't believe he wanted these idols to give half a year for like 3 years for this group) I guess it wouldn't have mattered anyway.

I think it's worth watching if you're a fan or interested of any of the participants but haven't watched it yet.
