Thanks for the info. I mostly just started slimming really fast in the middle. I didn't want to get any major spoilers but I wanted to see when they got together in the og novel hahaha
I think it's funny the description mentions He Suye having a past love that put him off dating but in the first…
Just skimmed the original novel a bit. I didn't see any mention of the past love in my skimming but it's definitely way more of a slow burn than the drama, so it seems like the drama is changing a lot from the original novel. Maybe that's why the description feels off 🤔 although him catching feelings early doesn't mean it won't take a while for them to get together
I don't understand why people, especially grown adults, are this petty over drama ratings. I mean I can understand…
"Review bombed" may be too strong of a phrase. But it seems like some fans of TFF/the leads are giving this show TBT 1 star ratings arbitrarily. And some fans of this drama TBT/the leads are doing the same thing to TFF. All around just childish behavior lol.
we shouldn’t compare this drama to the first frost please.both are doing good. instead we should be glad we…
I don't understand why people, especially grown adults, are this petty over drama ratings. I mean I can understand some comparisons, because they are both urban romance dramas airing at the same time. Someone may prefer one over the other for various reasons. But participating in rating bombing (on either side) is just so childish.
Some ppl really need real life dating experience in their life imo.
Honestly I don't have any dating experience, but I think it's just common sense. Similar things can happen in platonic friendships/family relationships too.
I think it's funny the description mentions He Suye having a past love that put him off dating but in the first 4 episodes we don't even get any kind of hint about that and he's already whipped. The only thing we've gotten any info about his past is that he has some daddy issues LOL
The comments mad at the FL or saying they lost respect for the FL just bc she called her ex a few times rub me the wrong way. Some of you really have impossible standards for women. They were in a relationship for 7 years and he was clearly gaslighting and manipulating her a lot in their recent conversations, but you can see from the flashbacks they had a postitive relationship for a long time. After all that, it's really not unexpected that she would call a few times *right after* getting the text message and that she would want to speak to him to get some proper closure? I think many people would after suddenly getting dumped over text. I mean, she was thinking about breaking up with him but the last conversation they had he was still mentioning them getting married. IDK, I just felt like her reaction felt realistic for the situation and personality that was presented. From her conversations with her friends, it seems like she's really scared of change. I don't think she was trying to cling onto her ex, but just clinging onto the status quo because it's easier to manage the pain you can predict.
The description made it sound like it would take some time for him to start to like her or at least realize his feelings but guy is obviously interested off rip in ep 1 lol 😅
Oh wow. I thought it was just decided by the production team. If the actor themselves have to pay for dubbing, does it mean they don't get paid when they dub it themselves?
EDIT: i found more info on reddit. so it seems there was a problem with actors being really lazy and not memorizing lines to the point where VAs had to speak out about it? But I'm not sure why VAs would have the issue since it would bring them work, wouldn't the production staff be the ones annoyed?
but l&p method was better and considered,it would have worked for this too
I don't find it boring at all. I think it's very well executed so far. I think it would hurt the story if it had been just all done at once. To me it seems like the flashbacks are building up and the audience is only supposed to know the full picture once either the characters get together or at least start communicating.
I have not seen go back lover so I cannot compare to how it's executed there.

Sure it would "work" to see every scene in complete chronological order, but the point of the flashbacks is not to tell a chronological story. It's to show the scenes that add the most context for the present day events.
Storytelling isn't always supposed to be completely linear.
I disagree with people saying the "past" scenes should have been done all in one go like Lighter & Princess. It worked for the way L&P was told, but it's clear here they are being very precise with when they reveal certain information to the audience. As Yifan slowly warms up we are also slowly told how she ended up so cold and distant in the first place.
I think what made this drama stand out to me is that while Li Xun is a jerk, he doesn't feel like a "typical" jerk male lead. He has a lot of depth. I don't think that excuses any of his hurtful actions, but it's easy to understand his perspective and more to the point it's easy to get how Zhu Yun comes to understand him. And that's why despite everything and sometimes to her own detriment, she still sticks it out.
I think their dynamic makes a lot of sense too. The typical "jerk male lead vs nice and naive female lead" dynamic is usually the ML is wealthy and/or is in a significant position of power over the FL who typically would come from a poor family and would be way more naive than is realistic. Li Xun and Zhu Yun on other hand feel a lot more like real people. Li Xun has faced the devastating loss of both his parents, and his older sister is much older and is dealing with her own shit and their family was never wealthy. So combine that with the ego of being extremely gifted at Computer Stuff now surrounded by people trying to do the same thing, his actions have a lot of motivation (again tho this doesn't excuse when he's a jerk). And by contrast Zhu Yun's naivety makes sense. She was raised in an affluent and well-connected family with a mother who plans everything out for her.
I will say sometimes her stubbornness is a little hard for me to empathize with personally (like when Li Xun puts that virus on her computer and they all spend a ton of time trying to figure it out themselves lol in my position I would have been like ok i get it you're a genius now either fix my computer now or compensate me because you literally just fucked up my property LOL) and I wish they had hinted at the loss of her friend earlier than when she saw the guy who caused it at the competition. Then again you can argue the point was for Li Xun to truly see her shaken for the first time, and that her life isn't the complete fairytale he projected when he first saw her.
Anyway, this was a very long winded and rambly comment that will probably end up buried in a month. I totally get if Li Xun's behavior is too much of a turn off for some people but I just really appreciate the dynamic of the leads.
