The lead couple are the same actors in Time Between Dog and Wolf (drama is modern but also about revenge and Joon Gi's character here also has more than 1 identity) , but I personally find their romance here not as compelling as Time Between Dog and Wolf. You should try Time Between Dog and Wolf, it's a drama that shows their chemistry better. In this drama, I found the second female lead more compelling and has more chemistry with Joon Gi (I know they dated, but I don't think it has anything to do with that seeing as the female lead is someone that Joon Gi has worked with before and also has chemistry in their other drama).

When she first arrived she didn't realize immediately she got transported to the modern world. She thought she was dead at first. We do see her getting confused at first when she roamed around the streets, thinking the foreigners wearing hanbok can bring her back to the Joseon she knew.

There are many of them but maybe the ones you see often are the ones that feel like working this year? Most of them are filming more than one drama at the same time (because they are not needed in all scenes they can film another drama while waiting to film their scene in one drama).

This drama has been on my watchlist for a long time. So excited to see this.

I have almost the exact same feelings as you in everything you said though I'm willing to give My Demon a chance for Kim Yoo Jung (I love its cinematography and the visuals it give though). I want more sageuk scenes for Park's Marriage Contract too. It's cool they used the young Deokim in Red Sleeve as young Lee Se Young here.

I liked the first two episodes of Park Marriage Contract better, though My Demon has really good cinematography plus it really uses the visuals of the main leads to its advantage (the scene at the beginning of the second at the beach coast was very picturesque). I'm willing to give the two dramas a chance. Both Lee Se Young and Kim Yoo Jung are beautiful and great.

I haven't even watched the first season, but I might watch that so I can watch this.

Yes there are period dramas in the west and China, but do you see Joseon and traditional Korean costumes/culture in those shows? NO. I do not expect to see hanbok in Jane Austen adaptations nor do I expect to see regency fashion in sageuks. Plus they have different cultures so I expect to see difference in their period dramas. My Dearest for example is partly based on Gone with the Wind but the Qing invasions in that show can only be made in that show since Qing invasions is part of Korean history but not American history. So my point is right.

I don't understand the criticisms against the female lead in the recent comments. She's better than most male leads in popular dramas.

Jang Ok Jung Live in Love 2013 drama has a female lead that is a fashion designer (though she lives in Joseon era).

I want to see more historical scenes to be honest. But I'm really enjoying the whole show

ooh, i remember the ending of rooftop prince was that the prince had to go back in joseon but his modern dopelgangger version is the one that married the female lead. bittersweet ending since the female lead's joseon version was dead already thus joseon prince has to remain alone. wonder if the same will happen here? with yeon woo having to go back to joseon but tae ha will marry yeon woo's modern reincarnation. yeon woo will return lonely as a widow in joseon?

Period sageuk dramas are what makes kdramas unique and special. You can see fantasy shows everywhere but only in kdramas do you see Joseon and historical Korea plus hanboks.
