i remember watching Arthdal back in 2019 and having to mute her name when searching for the drama because all I see is complaints why she only appeared for 11 seconds. (also i just want to mention that idol and kpop fans are the reason i don't really stan any idol actor no matter how good they are at acting because they will always get more hype than they deserve and it will be easier for them to getmain character roles simply because they have bigger fanbases).
Sad that Joongki passed this role. The writer is one of the best in Kdramaland. I guess the lackluster response…
I'm just really disappointed he had to go. Part of it is because my fave project of his before Arthdal is also his cameo in a drama by these writers (Tree with Deep Roots where Shin Se Kyung is the female lead). He has all the time after to make many modern dramas similar to Vincenzo or his new chaebol drama, wish he and Kim Ji Won chose to stay.
I can fully understand why Lee Joon Gi and Shin Se Kyung are chosen to replace the original leads. I've seen all LJG sageuks and the range he'd shown in those makes me confident he can play SJK's characters well. And Shin Se Kyung, though most have some reservations about her acting, I really like her when she appears in the dramas of these writers. So I'll fully support them if they choose to appear in Arthdal 2. But I'm just so sad Song Joong Ki and Kim Ji Won left the show. Arthdal season 2 was the drama of them I was waiting the most. There's just a lot of things SJK especially could show in this drama (like how he'll portray Eunsem/Saya meeting). Kim Ji Won too, she really had chemistry with many actors in season 1. I'm extremely curious how LJG and SSK would play their roles. But at the same time also wishing they would decline and the producers would have no choice until SJK and KJW are available to film. I also wish LJG can appear in a different drama (where he is the original actor for a character) by the same writers . He deserves to play a main character in a drama by these writers (my fave writers in Korea) from the start to the end. PS: (This drama's season 2 is extremely important to me so I really have a lot of opinions about it).
Seeing as Red Sleeve did so well, I think i would be a good idea to remake Ballad of Suh Dong, a love story between…
it's really good. the male lead, i didnt like at first because he was an idol, but i have to throw away my words after his performance. he was really excellent. he played the king so well, he even knows how to utilize his voice based on the king character's age. female lead lee se young was really good too. some of the people commenting here were also on the red sleeve page of mydramalist and they really love it as well. moon lovers is a bit overrated in my opinion too (some of the things happening in the latter episode just suddenly had to happen without enough explanation, though i really love lee joon gi acting). in my opinion his best historical drama when it comes to plot is arang and the magistrate, fantasy sageuk, but it was really enjoyable.
Same. I love Silla Dynasty the most, the one from Queen Seondeok, Hwarang, Emperor of the Sea, etc.. Love Goguryeo…
really, I thought the Silla crowns were interesting? That dynasty also have their own observatory. Gyeongju (place where Silla capital was located) was my dream place in Korea to visit after Seoul.
I wonder why all recent korean historicals are set in that dynasty with the same clothing same king crown prince…
Seeing as Red Sleeve did so well, I think i would be a good idea to remake Ballad of Suh Dong, a love story between a Silla princess and the last king of Baekje. I didnt watch the original drama, but I thought I read somewhere that Lee Bo Young did well there, and seeing only few people remember that show, it would really be a great idea to remake them.
The fact that Arthdal Chronicles season 2 isn't here anymore makes me so sad. It was the show of him I was most excited about. As much as I also love the possible replacement actor Lee Joon Gi, I will really missSong Joong Ki Eunseom and Saya.
I have not seen any of Ha Ji-Won's work so I don't know if she is a good actress or not.
she's a great actress. Most international fans know her from Secret Garden but her best works are her historical dramas. You can check out Empress Ki, Hwang Jini, Damo.
I wonder if you know why many people assumed JG fans didn't watch season 1? I saw this kind of comment everywhere.…
I dont assume all of them didnt watch season 1 (I know some of them love the drama too), but I did see some of his other fans comments (on twitter) saying they will not watch the first season. My comment is not meant for hate but rather it is really important they watch season 1 to understand the story. I'm not trying to be arrogant. Sorry if it comes accross this way.
To fans of Lee Joon Gi and Shin Se kyung who will watch the season 2, you have to watch season 1. It will be hard for you to understand season 2 if you didn't watch season 1.
it was popular because it was one of the first trendy historical dramas. the male lead was also popular when this…
the male lead had a scandal in 2016, he was popular til 2015. 2015-2016 were the years I consider a gamechanger in kdramas, most well loved and popular actors today did popular dramas from those two years.
(also i just want to mention that idol and kpop fans are the reason i don't really stan any idol actor no matter how good they are at acting because they will always get more hype than they deserve and it will be easier for them to getmain character roles simply because they have bigger fanbases).
