I’ve finished all 29 episodes, and Speed and Love completely exceeded my expectations.
The ML is amazing, carrying the drama with charm and presence. Coming from the K-drama and K-pop world, he sometimes reminded me of Yeonjun (TXT) in personality and style, and visually of Seungmin (Stray Kids), which made it easier for me to connect with his character.
The FL had some childish moments but was still enjoyable.
The story balances romance, action, and intensity perfectly, and the car racing scenes were a refreshing touch.
There’s no forced love triangle, which kept me rooting for the couple the whole time.
Overall, it’s emotional, fun, and engaging, a great first C-drama experience for me.

By the way: what I'm enjoying most about this C-Drama is the dynamic between the two protagonists, and the series doesn't bore me because they don't drag out the story too much. I love intelligent protagonists who aren't easily fooled. I love a good male protagonist who has a backstory that explains his personality. I love romantic or intense scenes 🫣✨

Basically, the ML is very handsome. He honestly reminds me of Yeonjun + Seugmin. I actually adapted quite well to the Chinese language through him, which I wasn’t expecting.
On the other hand, the FL confuses me a bit more. She’s not really the kind of female protagonist I’m used to seeing in K-dramas. She has this constant youthful, almost innocent aura, like she always seems younger than her actual age, but then the romantic scenes are surprisingly more intense. I think this is probably just because this is my first C-Drama, so I assume this kind of portrayal is considered beautiful or ideal for women. That might explain why she keeps this young, innocent, slightly childish energy, while he has a much more mature, serious aura.
That said, I do like her personality. Even if I personally prefer female characters who are tougher and more straightforward, I appreciate that she’s not stupid and that she steps up for herself when it matters. But overall, I love the ML’s personality, really, really love him!!!! ♥️
