And I believe that this trope is used to create trash episodes of dramas.. And I believe that this happens in great deal bc the writer just has no idea what else to write, for example bc the writer is limited and just keeps dragging the plot, AND/OR the writer thinks that creating this kind of trashy plot is what the audience can understand and pay for to watch. Whatever the reason is, the end result is that we get trash. If this happens ONCE and then gets resolved, ok, it can make the drama actually interesting, but if it happens all the time and never gets resolved but is used to keep the drama going, then we get a trashy drama, and people complain the script is dragging and drop out. And some watch. That is why the trash dramas exist.... watching the trash of Kardashians, etc. Some ppl do watch that ..... it is perfect for dumb insecure hopeless loser people jealous of others.
I am a practical art lover, so I like my stories to be somehow useful in my life for productive outcomes. I want to see people's problems, yes, bc I and my friends and family too have the same or similar problems LOL .... but I already know and see the problems. So I am interested to see HOW OTHER PEOPLE SOLVED THEIR PROBLEMS. And hopefully I can learn something from it that would make MY life better. Not better in terms of being delusionally asleep, but better in terms of being more active, more aware, more productive, more genuinely happy and being myself. When I watch entertainment, I want to see CREATIVE AND INSPIRATIONAL WAYS TOWARDS VALID AND PROPER PERMANENT SOLUTIONS. So:
What makes a drama interesting is CHARACTER GROWTH. So even if stupid behaviors repeat, we should see a different and increasingly mature reaction of the victim. AND/OR attempts of the stupid to overcome their bad behavior.
Yeah it is ok to fail bc it is INEVITABLE to fail :) But what makes the watch interesting is the TRYING TO GET UP and WHAT CHARACTER DOES WHEN THEY DO GET UP, and how they might get tempted to fall again and then again try to get up until they succeed to get up. We need to see their temptation and their "tricks" to get up.
It really is equivalent to watching a sports match or a martial arts fight or a boxing match, the evil keeps attacking and the victim of evil tries to dodge it and win.
NOBODY SANE enjoys seeing how one boxer beats up the other boxer into pulp and the other boxer sits there and cries.
