but some dudes said that he shot the King with the arrow in ep 1. He is supposedly King's confidante but he works for the rebels too. He is NOT a good guy :)

The way it is going, 4th evil is out to kill FL and all kinds of rebels are out to kill the King, and FL is a total bozo for self protection, so - they are not gonna last in Joseon, they WILL be killed, in fact, I predict the King being killed protecting the silly chick who just did not even comprehend yet that those swords cut body parts and that she is a target.
Those dramas I mentioned are NOT rushed at all and have happy ending that fits that particular couple and actually takes quite some time to figure out. Kdramas have amazing pairs - aliens, mermaids, goblins, gumihos, etc etc so time travel is kinda normal :) and each pair was always finding a solution that fits them. I watch practically only kdramas :)
but in ep 1 he is looking at YR and saying this is how our story began.... YR is sooo innocent and such a good…

We saw the essence of JP when he helped her uphold the justice.... and his preference when he liked HER bc of her character..... We saw the essence of Miss Korea when she went to movies to watch Aema to learn and nourish her soul. So I say - YR is compatible with him bc she stands for stable home, loyalty, kindness, love, care, etc that he never had at home, and she shares his core values of morality and justice;
and Miss Korea is not compatible with him, their inner core values do not match :) and also she has sharp edges that he wont be able to navigate.
I would think this even if I havent seen the very last scene of ep 1, In the last scene of ep 1, he looks only at YR and says ... something like "I was just running for no reason and then I met you at the end of it" - "and this is how our story started" So clearly, he is saying YR changed his life for better
Based on the enthusiasm to see Aema, Miss Korea is not guided by higher principles in life. She is attracted by ... glitz glory appearances and shallow stuff, or shall I say she seems to believe that life is a game on the physical level and you gotta win it by any ways kinda. Not so bad but in that line of thinking.. . SHE DOES have a good side eg she praised YR for school.... called up and dissed the dorm bully. Miss Korea was protective and making the deals to help YR group. But... Miss Korea strikes me as a PLAYER, wheeling and dealing. Perhaps she will grow . .
So fun! to watch the king put his hands on any chance he makes :) The convesation on the horse was the best marital scene ever LOL with yeah the thirdwheelers in tow LOL It is so cute that the King turned into a very gentle and caring love partner.... in spite of his urges to solve things by cutting out body parts LOL But he is really really smart and understood real fast, and his new skillZ in love is the most fun part of this drama, imo :) The fair cook is gonna be sorry he was trying to be fair LOL But the FL doesnt have what it takes to survive there, she is a liability... So..... the love birds need to relocate to the modern times asap before the stupid cook gets chopped up and/or the king gets chopped up protecting the stupid cook. I mean, that bozo was chasing pots in the middle of the chopping scene ... ! And how she handled herself ... she is a super extra HEAVY LIABILITY she is a clueless bozo, ... so ML and FL need to get out of that chopping/poisoning era ***asap***

King Eternal Monarch also has an interesting ending where nobody relocates but they stay togehter... Moving into the modern era is also a solution, like My Queen, etc.
But for this particular couple, the only practical solution is that he moves into the future, to stay safe and to allow her to pursue her career and cook for many people
I mean if jae pil likes jong hui.. then what was the thing we saw between jae pil and yeong rye.. what was that..…
at the end of ep 1 he looks at YR and speaks his thoughts - "and this is how our story begun" so... perhaps he took detours .. ? lol with someone pretty who watches Aema to learn and nourish her soul :) and who is not wife material
