Our Sticky Love somehow managed to not have that. And it turned out to be a much more interesting drama (some great action pieces and very moving/emotional second half).

Yes, many of us feel the same. The breakup might be a fake breakup but this corporate warfare is definitely less fun for the audience compared to other stories they could be doing.
It started wonderfully with laughs, jumpscares and angst. Then the ghosts are gone and the annoying cousin appeared…
Solving cases > corporate drama, for sure, especially with this group of writers. They should’ve just solved the mystery of the yacht 🛥️ accident and then had a nice chill final episode with a wedding and post-wedding life.
Kdramas and their ability to throw away their potential are something else. Like who told them it was a good idea…
I feel the same way about drama writers! Yes, I understand the current storyline is similar to the original movie but that movie came out a long time ago and it was a movie not a much longer drama. There’s no need to replicate everything exactly. Just give the audience what they want and leave them happy 😊

On its own going to Singapore 🇸🇬 (or anywhere else) isn’t bad and the leads did have a good time together. But you (and many others) also feel like the corporate drama isn’t what we love about the show. Hopefully the last two episodes will be better but, personally, I probably will end up rating this one lower than Our Sticky Love which turned out to be a much better drama than anticipated (by the end of it it was almost like The K2 with a lot more action & emotions than expected).

Hopefully they will wrap up the entire story in one season. I loved The Immortal Ascension but those two novels are super long and would take 9-10 seasons to finish (even donghua isn’t finished yet). Unless Yang Yang wants to sign up to play the same role for the next 20 years, the best the fans hope for is a three-season arc 🙏

It must be a dream/not real to satisfy censorship rules for dramas. But some dramas find ways to strongly hint it wasn’t a dream while still making censors happy 😉
No one knows for sure because donghua had a harem which isn’t going to be allowed in a drama. But the only possibility for a female love interest is Sun Zhen Ni’s character who only gets a small amount of screentime in first five episodes released so far. For now, it’s more of a buddy chaotic duo with ARP & Ai Mi.
I don't really feel any chemistry with the female lead. I prefer the junior sister (Ai Mi).
You are probably thinking of a different character/actress. Sun Zhen Ni plays a fairy and we only see her in a bits & pieces over the course of first five episodes, so there’s no interaction with the main character.

I agree there’s no romance here but MDL tags can be unreliable. There was “romance” tag on The Immortal Ascension for 3-4 weeks until MDL finally removed it. It confused a lot of people and we had to patiently explain in comments there’d be no romance (well, 3-5% romance 🤣)
So far no romance in episodes 1-5 and the main character is focused on his mission. A female character is part of his mission so maybe something will develop later on but for now it’s better to think of this as a funny version of The Immortal Ascension except that the main character here is already pretty strong when we see him.
