It’s really hilarious when they pick very, very handsome people to portray “average” or “plain looking” characters from a novel. I got a laugh every time Yang Yang was called plain looking in The Immortal Ascension. And now we have someone claiming Wang Chu Ran isn’t pretty 🤣

She traded his treasures for a daughter in law — it’s a good deal 🤣

Even on this comments page feedback is mostly positive (other than face swap quality). What I always tell people is to give this drama 4 episodes. Episode 3 is better than 1 & 2 (too much was cut due to face swap budget?) and then episode 4 is where the true dynamic between the leads starts to shine. But, also, different people like different things. There are certainly some dramas that are rated 7.8-7.9 on MDL that I have as 9.0 (especially true for more mature dramas for adult audiences).

I’m glad I’m not the only one who noticed that. FL clearly assumed too much when she said he knows how to work a microwave 🤣

To add to what others mentioned, ML knows the hotel company’s CEO (Uncle Liao: father of a woman for whom FL’s ex left FL). ML knows him because they are from the same circle: ML is a second-generation rich guy but he doesn’t tell that to anyone because he’s trying to make it on his own.
And, oh, FL exposed a corrupt guy in ML’s investment bank but she did it under a pseudonym on social media.

Totally appropriate thing to write to your coworker… who cooks for you… and whose apartment you live in… and who you drive to work every day 🤣

Slightly less focus on food here — food was 75% of Love Me, Love My Voice 🤣

We can only speculate those cuts were made to make the face swap cheaper and/or easier (maybe there were scenes that wouldn’t work at all). And, hey, this gives us even more reasons to dislike that character 🤣

That’s what happened in some scenes, supposedly. New actor was shot against green screen. But Indont like his character so don’t even mind AI face swap — don’t want to look at his face anyway 🤣🫣

FL is very fiscally responsible, so instead of spending money on those things she’d make him put money it into some safe investments so that even if his company goes under, there will be money for the rainy day

Glad you like it now! Since this is a modern drama, the budget is much lower compared to PoJ (which had to be sold to both Tencent and to iQIYI to fund production; plus Netflix internationally). So that’s why it took so long to do AI face swap (got delayed by 2+ years). No one was even sure what was going on or if it’d ever get released. So we have to look at it as glass half full — better to have this AI swap and some rough editing in first couple episodes compared to not having the drama released at all 😊

She will get a job soon in the drama 😉

FL’s ex had his face swapped because the original actor got in trouble and had to have his face swapped in multiple dramas. He got cleared of accusations a month or two ago but it’s too late. That’s why the drama got delayed by 2+ years.

I’d recommend giving this 4 episodes because it gets much better in episode 3 and becomes really good starting with episode 4. But if you’be watched first four episodes and still don’t like it, remaining episodes probably won’t change your mind.

How are you all noticing that? Maybe it’s my fault for not watching it early in the morning before I had my coffee, but I’m not really seeing a lot of issues with the face swap. Perhaps it’s because I don’t like that character so I don’t want to pay any attention to him 🫣😁🤣

It gets good in episode 3 and becomes really good starting with episode 4. While we can’t be sure, it’s possible that episodes 1 & 2 are not as good because they had to cut out many scenes with FL’s ex (to make it cheaper to do face swap on him). But give it 4 episodes — if you still don’t like it after that, maybe it’s not for you and that’s perfectly fine because we all like different dramas :)

It’s really only bad in episodes 1 & 2 which they had to cut down due to having to reduce FL’s ex’s screen time (to make face swap cheaper). It’s much better after that

I hope they put kids’ bunk bed in storage because they might need it soon 🥰😁
