I’ve asked a lot of people in the comments of Our Generation about the book. It had a bit more details about his life over there but — bottom line — even the book didn’t have a reasonable explanation for his behavior. But other than that Inreally enjoyed OG because of its vibe. It was a bit like WIFTY x TFF… except the source material wasn’t as strong 🙄

Thanks!
TFF was meant to be watched with The Best Thing 😁 They aired at almost the same time and balanced each other out (for the most part). One thing I appreciated about TFF is that they did a reasonably good job of explaining why FL left both times. That’s a lot different than most dramas where people leave their beloved for random/unwarranted reasons. For example, I loved the mood & ambiance of “Our Generation” (and love both leads, obviously), but I just couldn’t accept the reason why ML left & ghosted FL. So in comparison to most dramas, TFF did a great job and I especially enjoyed mix of present day & flashbacks. I’m not a huge fan of when episode 1 has present day (leads meet again) then we have to watch 15-25 episodes of their past and then move back to present day.

I hope in 10 years when they announce their marriage and a birth of their child, the fandom war can stop 🤣 If only we could have situations like in “You Are My Glory” when both management & fans encouraged their idols to get married & were super supportive 😁

I certainly think it’s nice for people to be passionate about something, but constant fan wars or unrest/unhappiness is hard to understand for someone who is not a local person immersed in that world. For examples, we almost didn’t have a gem that is “Pursuit of Jade” because ML & FL’s management companies were bitter enemies & swore to never work together due to a prior dispute with their other clients about who gets top billing (which, apparently, is a huge thing in China because it impacts endorsements, etc.). Or there are trolls who pretend to be fans of person A when writing mean comments about person B hoping to start flame wars. People seriously need to find an outlet for their energy. Maybe then can volunteer to be script reviewers so that dramas don’t constantly recycle same annoying/tired tropes 🤣

I mean, many people believe the Earth is flat, that Moon landing was fake and that dinosaur bones are fake.

Anyone else think Ju In A sent the email herself to No Gi-jun so he'd have a reason not to resign?
My thought as well. Maybe not to stop resignation per se, but for some other reason.

From topping buzz for '3 consecutive weeks' to sweeping 'No. 1' spots in 16 countries... Korean drama ('The Grand…
Even the stats won’t convince haters because they will claim the stats are made up or manipulated. That’s what happened with Pursuit of Jade earlier this year which set all sorts of viewership/ratings/hot index records on Chinese platforms and on Netflix. But haters haven’t stoppers spreading conspiracy theories saying numbers are manipulated/artificially inflated 🙄

Why did Grand Prince Yi-An even agree to marry her?
He’s being pressured to marry and it’s better to fake-marry someone who will support him & be his ally compared to arrange-marrying someone who is controlled by Queen Mother & whose status is kind of low. FL is incredibly wealthy (unlike royals who are supported by the government), so she can do all sorts of tricks to influence public opinion and maybe even potentially get him on the throne. Now, that’s all setting aside the fact he may have had a crush on her during school years as we are slowly finding out.

As I get older, it becomes harder for me to watch cringe scenes, or guys who have 'badboy' behavior. Just 10 minutes…
That was a dumb decision for sure. But show has gotten better with each episode, I think. By episodes 5 & 6 most of us are pretty happy with the drama :)

Yes, we all need to be nicer since everyone has different opinions. But keep in mind that many of people who are writing negative comments & leaving bad reviews are doing that as trolls for purposes of rage baiting. A measured negative review/comment is one thing, but trolls are trolls because they write complete nonsense.

EDIT:MEA CULPA - my apologies for calling YeAn the "Crown" Prince. I meant GRAND Prince but this simply…
The short answer is we don’t know because they haven’t revealed the full royal family tree and exact rules.
We can deduce the system of succession is Primogeniture (direct descendants take precedence) but we don’t know if it’s Male-Preference Primogeniture (e.g., younger son takes precedence over older daughter) or Absolute Primogeniture (whomever is older gets the throne).

Maybe Netflix did AHS a favor after he starred in KPDH 😁

Female fans definitely would not have complained if he was asked to take his shirt off when he was in a sauna 🧖

P.S. That scene looked kind of strange because why would you get in a sauna device fully clothed — your clothes would get very sweaty 😓

The whole storyline stopped making sense after FL barged into a hospital room full of reporters and screamed “mom!” at a perfectly safe mom who wasn’t dying or in a coma. Writers really were very sloppy in how their relationship was revealed. It could’ve been something pre logical like them actually going outside and paparazzi catching them.

Writing definitely leaves a lot to be desired. There’s only so much good actors can do to help it 😳

agree, but I think it goes 1 of 2 ways. 1) it was a mutual agreement from both patents for the dad to raise her…
I was excited when Ep. 3 started by showing off relationship with her mom and started to believe writers finally got something right. But then they came up with an absurd way for their relationship to be revealed (very dumb of FL). The writers don’t seem to know what they want — a cozy village romcom (like Once Upon a Small Town) or something more serious & angsty (like The First Frost). And characters keep making decisions which are very illogical 🙄

Was this the writer's and producer's first time making a drama?Like genuinely why is this drama just annoyingCharacters…
Agree. This drama feels like a collection of scenes designed to make us laugh or emote, but a lot of them just don’t make any logical sense even if you put yourself in a character’s shoes. I’d highly encourage everyone to watch “Once Upon a Small Town” (good village drama, very short and almost all chill/cozy), “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” (same type of helpful male character but who is a lot nicer), and “The First Frost” (FL also sleepwalked due to trauma).
Any other drama references I missed? 😁

The sleep walking reminded me of The First Frost
I highly encourage everyone to watch The First Frost although some elements may be triggering to victims of violence 🫣😳
