First five episodes were like super funny version of The Immortal Ascension except by the time we see main character he’s already pretty well developed (so don’t see his progression from zero like in TIA). ARP & Ai Mi are a great chaotic duo (more like brother/sister than romance).

Ai Mi is more like ARP’s sidekick at this point (ep. 1-5) and has most screentime. But they are more of a friendly dynamic & chaotic duo. Very great together!

Expect this to be like a funnier version of The Immortal Ascension — almost all focus will be on main character’s cultivation and his mission. Donghua had a harem but it’s not allowed in a drama so there may be one romantic partner here but that won’t be a focus.

Like others mentioned, “The Immortal Ascension” is in a similar genre but it’s more serious in tone (but also almost zero romance and focus on lead’s cultivation, development, and staying out of trouble instead of just playing a hero all the time).

Ai Mi is so fun in this role ☺️

This is definitely for people who like something comedic and don’t require romance or seriousness. ARP & Ai Mi are a chaotic dynamic duo so far 🤣

There may be a little romance later on but for now our character is bravely turning down everyone. This is more like The Immortal Ascension when main character is focused on cultivation & his mission instead of romance.

It’s also so hilarious how she thinks that anything he does is so great, deep and meaningful 🤣

ARP & Ai Mi are the dynamic duo so far and other two female characters are a little less important. And then there’s Sun Zhen Ni’s character who might be most important but she has very little screentime for now.

Maybe they use magic ink which can be erased so that she just reuses same stack of paper 📄

MDL summaries are often wrong and use novel/donghua instead of the actual drama. In the drama it’s more like a transmigration story from present day into a book.

And there probably won’t be romance like in the original source (where there was a harem). For now (ep. 1-5), our hero has turned everyone down and is focused on his mission.

This went up to 8.1 but, yes, for sure ratings on MDL are not trustworthy the first week due to a wave of haters/trolls/antifans who almost always try to bring a drama down.

Censorship won’t allow that for sure. Without spoiling anything from episodes 1-5, clearly our guy isn’t here for romance

Ai Mi is the one featured the most so far (episodes 1-5). Sun Zhen Ni may be more important to the story (we don’t know yet), but in reality this is more like The Immortal Ascension where we have 1 Main Character (ML) and everyone else is a supporting character.
