Almost all dramas start off low due to low sample size (small number of reviews) and due to initial wave of bad reviews driven by antifans of one or more leads (or, for example, by fans of one of prior CPs of a lead actor/actress who don’t want to see them with a different person). Isualky it takes about 5-7 days for ratings to stabilize

Very confused why DYH doesn’t reveal her identity to ZZ even in private… or why he doesn’t recognize her. That probably confuses me even more than ZZ’s non-use of imperial token which would, ostensibly, allow him to do anything and shut down that establishment.

YES! Exactly what I was thinking — they had ZZ surrounded and no one thought, hey, let’s use this time to go dispose of the official 🙄

I’m not familiar with source lore, so I’ve come to think of ML as Batman and FL as Batgirl. They don’t kill anyone, try to put them in prison/asylum, but bad people inevitably escape and start causing havoc again 😁

ZRN was great in The First Frost and even in My Boss (underrated drama which is much better than its synopsis here).

Have watched it up to middle of episode 13 and starting to agree with Viki comments that it’s dragging a bit and there’s a bit too much talking. All the moralizing is probably true to the source material, but it’s not making a riveting drama, especially since we know who the bad guys are.

Very true, that’s why I’m a bit worried this has 42 episodes (and this is coming from a fan of slow-burn dramas, so it’s not like I can only watch K-drama length shows).

P.S. One of the things that has always bugged me about Peony/Blossom is why couldn’t they just un-alive 💀 bad guys by claiming it was a hunting incident or something else. Once they knew who was scheming, just get rid of all the bad people and be done with it. Don’t even need to make it a court case or anything. Hunting accidents can happen, you know 😉

I really enjoyed TIA but if fights were a bit shorter it’d save them some CGI budget and would move things along quicker.
Maybe in a few years they could take full 3D scans of YY and then merge donghua & live action to give the full story quicker. Just feed the script and CGI models into AI and have it generate everything 🤣🤣🤣

Thanks! Having three seasons may be the best we can expect overall for the live action drama (unless they do 9-10 seasons in total and make Yang Yang play the character for the next 10-15 years). In season 2 he’d be far away and then he’d come back and get married in season 3 (being vague to avoid spoilers for others).

Hopefully in the novel FL was some sort of an ink scientist or something like that. Because a normal person would definitely not be able to make any ink 🫟🤣

To be fair, forgiving bad people was far from the biggest issue with Flourished Peony / In the Name of Blossom. I want our leads to have a normal cooperative relationship without unnecessary misunderstandings and conflicts. And not having suffering for the sake of suffering would be good too 😁

So what’s the latest scoop? Are they going to shoot season 2 and season 3 back to back? The rumor mill was that the renewal was going to be for 2 & 3.

Dramas sometimes are shot 1-1.5 years in advance (to allow for CGI, editing, approvals, funding, etc.), so this may have been shooting before/during TIA release.

ZZ is Batman of this universe, for better or worse. If Yang Yang’s character from TIA was here, things would have been resolved more swiftly 🪄 🪦
