Hong Ye would have never stood a chance if mask guy was someone else lol. But I guess HuaiZu saw more of him, and believed ruthless HongYe the alliance was talking about was only a persona. And I really think it was, since his swordheart led him to create the group mask who were considered heretic by the yiqi alliance. I guess when he lost his sword heart, ruthless HongYe was the only thing he got left. Their story is really tragic

The transformation was everything! And the hair stood perfectly in place after the Violent fight with yiqi alliance and crazy uncle lol. The actor pulls it out very well

I don't agree with you but only on a certain level. Huai Zu came up with the plan to kill many Birds with one stone : mend the broken relationship between her and her husband and give him some light by growing a family, calm the Wangquan clan who was putting pressure on HongYe by saying bringing the soldier would be a future solution to revive the clan s reputation, and finally expend the plan to leave a powerful nemesis for the black foxx when she will return. Besides, she was dying, and it was really a great solution to help her husband back then. And we could even see the results with HongYe, when he was getting back alive after hearing he would be a dad. But Huai Zu died, and thing went south. And this is only where I blame her. She should have prepared her husband more, and not shock him more by letting him know this secret when it was too late. She should have prepared a full plan for the soldier, and not only one promise to let him leave when he desired it. She saw how broken her husband was after the fight with the black fox, and would have know her death would have left him even more in despair. She did neg him to find back his swordheart so he can be right back on the righteous track. But no, instead, we got this mess

When they were in beast Kingdom and searching for the flower which could cure Huai Zu, the flower said only the purest could touch her, and transformed HongYe into stone when he touched it, saying he was not a good person. Besides, if she did not know he was the leader of group mask,Huai Zu would have never chose him as her significant other.

Well at least an hypocrite believe is cause is just, and only fail to see the bad in them while pointing ou the bad on others. This man is straight up evil with a full agenda and who know he is playing everyone there

Well put. When Fugue was leaving, in his monologue, Hongye said that huma nature was too changing and unstable , so power and magic was not enough to fight them. I still don't agree with his bad parenting, but he was managing more than his son being the soldier he set up to fight his nemesis.

In EP 12, he has been smiling more than the rest of the eps combined

Watched it, loved him there, but still he his deadly wrong. He is pushing all his broken pride into making out of his son an Ultima weapon, even cutting him from proper love and life because hee is afraid he get broken and fail the same way he did. Let's not even talk about the fact he is constantly blackmailing him an gaslighting him by using his mother, who certainly would have never wanted this for her son. At some point he choose to not move on, and because of that changed to the point of consciously hurting his own son.

I am wondering if the sword choose him as a master too, because his uncle was having an hard time making it subdue itself to him. Besides, dragon sword gave him a full makeover à la sailor moon. And a dragon actually appeared to help him defend himself. But I may be over reading this
