YES HMH!! hahaa, on this, I agree with you! but despite all the drama and the cyberbullying, I’m glad he was there and I’m glad for this show, for that, I gave it a 8.0 rating because I enjoyed every bit of second he was on screen! a bit annoyed with the shady editing and show’s planning.. but no matter all the hardship he went through, he’s always so positive and inspiring. He gave me so much power!!

I understand your sentiment. This boils down to the fact that RSB is a better strategist and LJL is a better tactician. LJL was never dumb, he was stuck in a power play where it wasn't explicitly stated; it was basically a feud between the emperor and the empress dowager. The empress dowager pushed for the Duke to reclaim LJL as his son so he could stop meddling in her business. It was mentioned he literally tried to escape the mansion several times, but was caught. So he started refusing food. He wasn't dumbed down, the dynamic had always been the Female is like the domineering CEO trope and the man is the green tea kitty. Able to fend for himself but clingy and cute to the girl. But hey, even strong capable men can sometimes wind up in situations where they become stuck.

I felt that towards the end, RSB talked in riddles to try and test LJL. Whether he can let go of his Duke's heir title and be with her. but she also did not want to force him. She only implied stuff. She's not crude with her wording saying blatantly "if you want to be with me you need to let go of this title", he needs to figure it out himself. It's like reverse new Cinderella trope where he has to "rescue himself". She can save him if he chooses her.

The directive was actually good too because they flipped it. The first couple of arcs, we were made to see things from LJL's POV as he uncovered things. but the last episode was made like as if LJL was the outsider, we never got to hear his narrative as he was lost trying to figure RSB out. as he became left in the background. We ended up listening to RSB's sisters rant and we were meant to side with RSB's perspective as a CEO of her Tea Company. That made the ending so much more impactful. Wishing for a S2!!

The viral meme is just an emoji pack that had his picture (of the RongXia character) and people used it to write "Ancient Chinese" sayings. So for example instead of saying just "No, thank you" they would write "I regret that a prior engagement prevents me from accepting."

His go-to meme is the “o而k之” (o ér k zhī); a playful Chinese slang phrase that means "to get it done," "to settle something," or "to make something OK." It essentially turns the English word "OK" into a Chinese verb using clever grammatical structure from Classical Chinese.

You’re right, I thought she was great in my journey to you. She’s more versatile than people think and I’m looking forward to changes in her acting in this one. Most people have their own biases and aesthetic sense. Honestly, I’m just looking forward to this because of the ML, but I’m willing to give her other dramas a chance when I have time.

For the record, in the live phone recordings of HMH's Mid-Autumn Festival you can hear his voice was strong, powerful and dominating. I blame the sound engineer for reducing the volume of his voice in the live broadcast version (which was aired 40 minutes later); maybe he only checked by number but didn't listen to the overall balance. It's okay to balance things out for the sake of "political reasons" (since four of them represent different regions) but to lower his volume to that extreme and undermine the overall performance is just poor judgment. Don't mind me, I'm just feeling disappointed right now... hoping for better stages for him in the future.

if you like Plot twists, you can try "Key to the Phoenix Heart" and "Glory"; mind you they're not Xianxia though, but they just recently aired so I think it will suit modern tastes better.

- For Xianxia I recommend the classic "Ancient Love Poetry" and "Back from the Brink".
- For Wuxia (Martial Arts) I recommend "Untamed", "Legend of Fei", "Heavenly Sword and Dragon Slaying Sabre (2019)", and "Mysterious Lotus Casebook".
- Wuxia based on Donghua (animation) is the BOY trilogy; "Blood of youth", "Dashing Youth" and “Dark River". They are for a younger audience.
- If you like Detective style mystery it's "A League of Nobleman" but do keep in mind there's some fantasy element involved.

There's also "Fangs of Fortune" from the same directing team as "My Journey to You"; you can expect similar cinematography.
