In China, and several other parts of the world, there's this thing about "Restraint" and Love. This makes it that much more elegant and beautiful. The ML becomes like a Guiding lover, doesn't force her to grow up, but lets her bloom in her own time while quietly supporting her from behind. If the world had more parents and partners like that, it would be amazing!

This drama explores love in a sense of a "Guiding Lover", quietly supporting each other, being there for each other. I guess more like "acts of service" & "quality time". I think the lack of intimate scenes elevates the drama to make it that much more elegant.
A lack of physically intimate scenes would disappoint some viewers, but will allow more general public to view it, and to discuss more grander themes without detracting the focus. If I had a teen, I would definitely invite them to watch this together with me and discuss what healthy relationships should be, talk about politics and visions of their own life missions.

The staged betrayal made it so the public opinion became pro-war. They literally could not fight because of a peace treaty. The An-Lu case was already being widely discussed, but after knowing that BeiQin literally planted spies to incite the fall of their Kingdom enraged the public. XWY cannot be the one to start the war, Li Mao needed the credit to be a ruler accepted by the public too.
On the other hand XWY being kidnapped by Eagle King made the emperor of BeiQin restless because he was afraid they would join hands and topple him. Thus resulting in the Bei Qin army coming in and attacking them at Dingfeng Slope. They won an outstanding 40.000 troops vs 100.000 troops battle.
In the final episode, it was explained that even after that war, even with no peace treaty, for 3 years both sides did not really fight large-scale wars, just guarding borders. BeiQin had internal political problems, so Nanye just ended up focused on fixing the canals (led by XWY's brother) and preparing for the next war. The little emperor of BeiQin died, they had a lot of infighting, so Li Mao wanted to reclaim the capital next.

she's actually not bad... if you compare her to the ML and senior actors then yes she has more to go, but she is actually quite an experienced actress, she's been acting since she was a child! I think it serves the plot well because she's serving as us most of the time, her ambiguous reactions makes it harder to guess. Which makes the suspense for us more intense!

ohh if you’re talking about that then I think it’s not really OOC because this actually showcased the ML’s dual identity!! LJL and Fusheng are two different characters with the same base!! Fusheng is cute and innocent, but still retains that ambition to get a better life. LJL had been ridiculed for being a servant’s son, and he had been bullied by his cousins while they all fought for his inheritance. So it’s no wonder that LJL is more guarded and dark compared to Fusheng!! But they both are cute little green tea towards RSB because she understands him and is an amazing domineering CEO that he fell in love with! HMH actually explained that once his memory came back, he sometimes still “pretended” to be Fusheng, but sometimes his real reactions comes out too! The funny thing is that back then when he was fusheng, every time jundai talks about RSB talking about him, he lights up and is all smiley.. but after LJL comes back, every time JD brings it up, he blushed and reacts angrily out of embarrassment!! those tiny details are actually so cute!!
