The prince does come across as weak at times, I agree but it doesn’t feel dragged out at all. If anything, this story would’ve benefited from 16 episodes.

Thanks, you’re giving me hope. I haven’t liked any character of Linyi yet because he often feels like the kind of male lead who needs princess treatment in his dramas. I hope this one isn’t like that. Zhu Yi’s male leads are usually not written that way

The part I disliked most about TFF was her ghosting him for the second time. I also didn’t like how the male lead’s love was shown so much while the female lead’s feelings for him were not explored.
I love it when the male lead is more in love but here it felt one sided. It seemed like she just accepted his love, since anyone in her situation, being completely alone, might have done the same after everything he did for her.

Scared to see it’s also an ex reunion story. I liked Zhu Yi’s other works a lot where it wasn’t about exes but I still hope this is better than TFF. Lu Yu xiao is already my favorite.

I wouldn’t call it good or bad but this story just left me exhausted. It feels like they dumped all the backstory and explanations into the last 9 episodes. So what was the point of the first 20 episodes?

Everything I watched in the beginning now feels almost like an illusion and useless.

I could say the first 20 episodes were meant for a journey or couple bonding but only Shi Guang and Wu Wan had any real development during the illusion arc. Even then, they felt sidelined as a couple and their storyline was wrapped up quickly.

As for Wu Yi and Ji Ling, I didn’t even notice when Wu Yi started liking him so much. At first, it just seemed like a pretty woman flirting with a naive boy, since he was supposed to be the one for her.
This drama did have a story but it makes me wonder why I even watched this

I’ve been in both Kdrama and Cdrama fandoms. This kind of ragebaiting usually works more in Cdrama spaces, while in Kdrama fandoms, only certain types of hate comments get targeted. I don’t think you’re going to be one of them.

It’s just that now POJ is getting popular beyond just Cdrama fans, so there’ll be a lot more shippers. I really liked POJ but their romantic chemistry was around an 8/10 for me, good, but not strong enough to make me ship them. It’ll get a bit irritating seeing all those shippers in the comment section of his new drama. Same happened with Byeon Woo Seok's new drama. Shippers never leave male lead alone

If they start making Twitter approved stories and characters, everything will end up boring and plain. The story will feel too linear, the same problem Kdramas are facing now. I’m glad Cdramas don’t follow int opinions, even though I’m an international viewer myself lol

This is by the same screenwriter as My Journey to You? That’s my favorite drama but it’s the only one where the second leads were better written characters, had better chemistry, better actors and looked better (not the male lead) than the main leads. I wonder what he’s done here with so many main characters

I guess only a fellow vertical drama watcher would love Qimin, because the reactions I saw on Twitter were extreme. But they seem to hate everything there😂Funny thing is, Linghe’s character in another drama actually made me fall in love with this type of fictional character. I think it’s only because Qimin wasn’t the main character that Qianqian never fell for him. If he had been, I’m sure the author would’ve manipulated the situation somehow. But here, the author just decided that Qianqian can’t love Qimin

Still, the only reason I didn’t want them to end up together was because Qianqian didn’t like him and I think a woman should have the authority to choose whoever she wants.

But at least they changed her reaction to his ending compared to the novel. So we can guess she was at least a little moved😭

People will always try to act like moral police but I don’t think anyone who liked this ship actually wanted them together in this life. I just wanted them to get their happily ever after in another life. I wanted an alternate ending for them so badly
