I am currently on episode 12 and definitely agree with you!!! I'm not new to these types of dramas but nowadays…
Nice to see others feel the same. I watched it as it aired and enjoyed parts of it, but something always felt empty. I never warmed up to the male lead and I don’t think he had any major character development. It seemed like the female lead simply outmaneuvered him , rather than him actually growing. I couldn’t quite put that into words back then and I didn’t dare comment because the viewers would’ve eaten me alive lol
Maybe I expected more from the short clips I’d seen but this ended up feeling really boring. Only the kissing scenes were worth it, I guess. I also didn’t expect the actors to have such a big age gap. I thought it would be at most 10 years.
Cdrama audiences seem quite different from Kdrama audiences. Many kdramas get negative reviews if the second male lead stays around too long. But in this drama, the SML had an even longer presence and viewers were still praising it while it aired. I wonder if people just skip the SML scenes. But if they’ve skipped almost 40% of the show, how can they call it their favorite drama?
This isn’t worth it. No kiss scenes or skinship. Just endless scenes of the female lead being assaulted by the villain. Why even bother putting the ML on the poster when he’s barely in it for four episodes?
I’ve watched my share of short Cdramas and those were kind of toxic but good toxic if it's making sense. This one, though, was actually bad. The male lead was toxic and the female lead was insanely irritating. There are definitely better dramas out there.
This is the second ZLH character I haven’t liked and both are with Zhao Jin Mai. I’m not blaming her tho I disliked her character in their previous drama and now I don’t like ZLH’s character here.
But I’m surprised they’re doing back to back dramas together. Was their pairing really that popular? Or maybe it wasn’t talked about enough, so they got cast together again?
From what I’ve seen, his pairings with Bai Lu and Xu Ruo Han seemed more popular
Why are they writing ZLH’s character like a cuck? The FL comes off so stoic. She never really seems in love with her husband. Is it a chemistry issue, an acting issue from her side or just how the character was written?
Can someone give me some hints about ZLH’s character in this drama? I’d love it if he’s unhinged like Xie Wei or a cute schemer like He Suye. Or is he just playing a normal character this time?
That’s exactly why people are hating her. She’s stringing both guys along while making the male lead act like…
I mentioned it because they split the baby duties but she’s always late or tied up with her boss and just says sorry. That might fly between spouses but not with a housemate who’s following a set schedule. Plus, as Woojoo’s legal guardian she clearly doesn’t know him well, like the hospital scene showed.
She has no obligation to return ML feelings, she is single and has every right to be with whoever she likes even…
That’s exactly why people are hating her. She’s stringing both guys along while making the male lead act like a babysitter and housekeeper, even though she’s the legal guardian.
Lmao, seeing how pissed everyone is, that one account is probably shitting their pants, rushing here to defend this mess of a show. Seriously why did they ruin such a promising storyline
Lol i agree.. i am a cdrama watcher and people really don't care about a side charachter getting too much screen…
I'm a cdrama watcher too but some fans take everything way too personally, even for the worst shows. Criticize something small, like a costume choice while it’s airing or just after it finishes and they come at you hard. I can’t say I like a drama if I’m skipping 50% of it, like this one too. Yet some people skip scenes too and still call it engaging
I like how people here are openly and rightfully criticizing the storyline, the female lead and the second male lead. If this were a Cdrama comment section, I don’t think people would even dare to criticize the writing without getting attacked
I get now why, even after rating this drama high and following it religiously while it was airing, I feel weird about it. I love the pacing and storytelling and the female lead is one of my favorite characters ever. But I never really liked the male lead. Whenever he was even a little likeable, it was only because he was enchanted by the female lead or she manipulated the situation.
I was really looking forward to this but it’s the same “joining hands to solve a problem” storyline again. This doubling down on the same formula in every drama needs to stop. They’re such a visually stunning couple and it feels like they’re being wasted in a repetitive story.
Never have I ever had second lead syndrome and I’ve always judged others for it. Now I have to admit it really sucks to experience it. Not my fault tho. The writer made the male lead so bland that I ended up rooting for the second lead instead.
